Brightnight looked to the cat and gave a small nod as they locked eyes. "Beansprout! I do agree with you that Gingerstar isn't the best of idea's! But....why don't we place a vote? Cat who want Gingerstar go under Pikestar's perch and others come to the back of camp." she suggested lightly.

More yelling. Duststream really didn't like this and wasn't comfortable. "Please- no- please guys just calm down. Pikestar is stressed as leader and they are making the best decision for the clan by stepping down- Please respect their decision, we wouldn't want a cat who felt unable to properly lead the clan leading us. Gingerfrost will do great." The calico tom said, raising his voice, trying to be heard, as he challenged Beansprout's words.

Berryflare had just stepped out of the warriors den when she heard Pikestar was stepping down. Though she really didn't care. She didn't care about a lot of leaders, "good riddance," she muttered sitting in the shadows too listen too everyone's arguments and conversations.

"If Gingerfrost becomes leader, we'll just end up like this again! Is that really what you want, Pikestar? Is that what any of you want?" Upon hearing this Berryflare turned too face the cat who had spoken. It was Beansprout. She chuckled, why would anyone want Gingerfrost for a leader ... of course, she barely knew the cat but still! Drama, drama, drama ... maybe if she said yes then something exciting would happen. Hopefully she wouldn't get punished or something.

Finally, after some thinking, Berryflare stepped towards Beansprout. She wasn't necessarily too close, but not too far and she was still behind the cat who had questioned Gingerfrost's leadership. "You might be right Beansprout. Our clan should be able too hold our own and not only survive, but be at least able too thrive. We need too go further than what most think we can. We do deserve better. We -" Berryflare suddenly stopped at the words of Brightnight. [ @|~Ju-Ju-Is-A-Maniac~| ]
"Don't be such a mouse-brain. Even if some of us agree I doubt most will, it won't be an efficient or fair vote." She growled, turning her attention back towards Beansprout. "I agree, even if Gingerfrost is deputy, I don't know if he would be a great leader," Berryflare meowed quietly chucking, "though I am not sure what he is like much. I don't tend too pay attention too deputies. Has he proven himself even capable of being leader?" She questioned, starting to lick her paw. "If he's really that bad, then I'd be surprised if star-clan accepted him" She mumbled, hard to heard because she was licking her fur. She honestly wonder why it was so chaotic, she had missed most of this meeting.

Ravenkit trembled. "Please stop yelling..." he squeaked, hearing the commotion rise, he couldn't take it anymore. "I... said... STOP!" He panicked, realising what happened, and muttered, "Sorry..." Smokepaw noticed what was happening to Ravenkit, and spoke up for him. "N-Nothing good is happening because we're f-fighting! It will only get w-worse. Please. It doesn't matter whether the leader is an absolute asshat, it only matters if their d-deputy, medicine c-cat and clanm-mates will pick up after them! Fighting is terrible, especially if its with close cats, or cats who should be close. Cats have all suffered losses, it only m-matters if you'll complies to their wishes in death. So get up, get your asses off the damn ground and stop starsdamn fighting each other! Do you assholes here me?"

A low sigh came from him. Then the small kit piped up with clarification. Right. Little children must be decently civil. Ish. Frustration rippled through his short fur, eyebrows furrowing close together. Why the hell were they trying to fancy up funerals instead of something productive?

.. Not increasing patrols for territory, increasing training, something? Hell, set up traps in the Sleepy Thicket. Anything was more productive than this. Perhaps it would come up later, but the Dark Lord didn't understand why not bring it up now? Why shift the topic?

His misshaped ears perked up at Graytail's statement and a laugh was ripped from his lips. Cruel and dry, because how rude. "Do not speak for the dead, " Wormbite remarked, and held his tongue. And they wanted to either pollute their water supply or dump bodies in the Haven Springs. A place he was fond of.

He reached a paw and dragged it down his face. Tired rage bubbled up, but it didn't threaten to spill. He would bring up his concerns privately or, at the very least, simply do it himself. He was given this rank for a reason, might as well make use of it. Besides, Beansprout .. well.. he was speaking truths. Didn't need to repeat or, overwhelm Pikestar. Gosh. Wormbite was tired and so was Ghostie.

Dirtkit stared at the lanky cat until his eyes felt like straining, and had looked back down to continue his dirt coverage. His silly baby brain not even comprehending anything that been going on around him. He only looked back at the warrior one last time as a response to the answer.

Dapping onto his sides, he was yet interrupted. By many things. Yowling, grown clanmates that surrounded him yelling their thoughts. And Dirtkit had no idea what any meant. He perked his ears to get even a slightest clue onto what is going on. And that only made him the slightest -maybe not- frustrated and worried. The recently discovered -to the kit- Pikestar stepped down? From what position? And why is there another cat calling out about not wanting Gingerstar? What even is a Gingerstar? It did not help ease to see the cat's face as well. Did Gingerstar did that?!

The dirt baby snapped his head to the right to one calico warrior, seeming to calm the arguments. Swapping directions, he could hear someone saying... "D-dumbasses," Dirtkit repeated. It felt so toxic, and frightened him just good enough to get him to scrambled away from the Streamstone and plans to stuff his ears with moss inside the nursery; where there was no argument, and no grown cats to hiss and scream.

Lavenderkit saw Ravenkit’s distress. She ran up towards him. “Ravenkit, let’s go. It’s better if we stop adding to this!” She half whispered half yelled.

If Wormbite said he had been expecting for this - it would be a lie. Perhaps he should've noticed the signs sooner. Stars, he wasn't sure how he would've handled this situation. He was a solider, not a leader. He couldn't speak smooth words to soothe any brew situations, but he had his claws. That was all that mattered. In his eyes, Pikestar - or ah, Snowleap, wasn't .. he was soft. Stars, he adopted orphan children in the middle of the gathering. He took Riverclan out for a stress-relief trip. Wormbite had seen him do diligent work. If he believed this was for the better, the Dark Lord would like to have Snowleap as his friend and not his leader.

He winced at the shocked yowls. And then Beansprout spoke up and - well, he briefly mourned the loss of a normal meeting. He had wished for Snowleap to be able to fulfil his last meeting properly but well, chaos called for him and who was he to fall silent? Pride rose up in his chest as Beansprout. .. he was - amazing, at times, actually. Wormbite rose to his paws, turning to Dirtkit. "You. If you aren't here for a ceremony, go into the nursery. Now, " He commanded. [ @Dirtfur ]

Lifting his head, "Kits. If you are not here for a ceremony, go into the nursery, " He called out - because really, they didn't need a crowd of panicking children. He walked through the crowd, standing tall and of authority.

"Duststream. No one is calling for Pikestar's to stay as a leader when he has resigned. Simply for Gingerfrost to not take his place. We can remain civil. We will remain civil, " and that might just be a threat. He didn't care yelling - and he sure as hell wouldn't allow any fights to break out. [ @comet15 ]

Then a small kit piped up, asking for them to stop. "Ravenkit. Go to the nursery if you are not here for a ceremony, " and then an apprentice. "Watch your tongue. Riverclan will not settle for an inefficient leader. We are the strong. Everyone should put in efficient work, no matter their rank. We do not pick up for others' slack, that is what Thunderclan does. If this discussion bothers you, you are free to excuse yourself, " Wormbite spoke smoothly, because at the end of the day, he wouldn't blame the younger generation for not realizing how much Riverclan had fallen. [ @Octavia!] ]

Speaking of the man of the hour, Wormbite turned to Gingerfrost - at least, wherever he hoped the tom would be. "Let me make this clear. You are not the absolute worse warrior, but you have not taken any length to improve Riverclan besides what you've been ordered to. You deliver patrols and deliver punishments - but I have not seen you take initiative for training sessions, events - things Riverclan needs. This may pass by as a deputy - even if it shouldn't, it has - but this will outlook will not help Riverclan with you as a leader. We do not have time to rely on word of mouth for improvement. Riverclan cannot wait for you to improve, " Wormbite stated firmly. [ @Estelle ]

The Dark Lord moved to stand near Beansprout, feeling his paws buzz.

Stress stick. Stress stick, stress stick! Where was his stress stick, they had to have brought it right? There was no way he left the den without it. He needed his stress stick! With a slight jump up the apprentice felt a small object stab his paw on impact, thank starclan. The cat looks down and immediately picks up the stick in between his jaw and starts his nibble on its bark, teeth slightly digging into it with the faintest crunch. The apprentice pads away from the crowd, rebelling at the slightly chance of Gingerfrost becoming leader. The bi-colored cat felt done with it all, all he had was cause chaos. Had they not started talking about how they didn’t want water burials then this wouldn’t have happened. Pikestar wouldn’t have stepped down. Gingerfrost wouldn’t be being labeled as useless and lazy, their green eyes now searching for a way out as their breathing increased its pace.

The stick now becoming more of comfort as he nibbled it even further. Its bark becoming softer while he nibbled through its flawless surface. Their eyes darting around the clearing as they somehow managed to get their legs to move. Shaking as he made his way over towards the River Settlement’s Resident Herbalist Den, sadly not making it the whole way as his eyes fell straight to the ground as they crumbled under the invisible stress of it all. The stick now locked in their jaw as they stared blankly into their paws. His ears pinned as he tucked himself into a spot near the Herbalist’s den as small drops formed in his eyes. Claws digging into the ground below them as he felt the air exit and enter faster than before.
