To be honest, he hadn't gone on a full tour yet, just a few adventures into the territory every now and again, yet that still wasn't enough to take him everywhere. Some borders still lay unexplored.
"Oh! You met Gingy? Don't mind him, he's a bit of a grump." His tail began to twitch as he stared at the older cat. "It's nice to see you too. A lot has happened since you were last here." A lot, and he didn't like any of it one bit. The only good thing was the Beastie was a shield now, which meant that Stonepaw was allowed to bother him more. Still, that wasn't half as much as what was needed to balance out the rest of the bad.
"But, uh, how are you?" Had they been through any cool adventures in the twolegplace? Gotten in a fight with a turtle? Eaten anything especially good?
Russetpaw
A tour? Well, they faintly recalled Pikestar having offered giving them a tour of the borders, but that had been moons ago and Russetpaw didn't wish to be a bother to any cat; plus, they hadn't seen the long-furred oriental since arriving so it was likely he was off somewhere busy. Being a leader was likely tiring work! "I haven't, but I'm sure it'll come in time. The tom I met during my joining said I would be getting a... mentor? At a meeting so I think they might be the ones to show me around." It made sense after all; and for now it gave them a reason to remain in camp (where there were no foxes).
Gingy? That was an odd name. Didn't cats have two names? Like 'Stonepaw', with the 'paw being for that he was still in training; and how other cats who weren't in training (like she assumed the deputy was) had full names. Perhaps it was simply a nickname of his; she'd have to ask later. "He seemed... okay," Russetpaw answered with a soft chuckle. Definitely a bit grumpy, but he had just fought off a fox for her, effectively saving her life twice. It was enough to make any cat grumpy.
How was she? A loaded question for sure, but Russetpaw gave it some thought. "I'm doing alright. I'm just... glad to have some place to call home." That was the genuine truth, and it brought a smile to the somali's face. Finally she would have a place to call home, cats to befriend... somewhere she belonged. It didn't quite feel like that at the moment, but she knew in time it would. "How are you? You're a 'paw, so that means you're training still right? Who's your mentor?"
[ ...I just realized typing this that Russet is asking about Stone's mentor without any IC knowledge of what's happened and I AM SO SORRY ]
The ruckus wasn't too loud, never-the-less he found himself out of his den and wandering towards a small group of cats in the corner of the clearing. Oh no. A small lump of something floated in the water and he had to swallow back bile. Was that a kit? How did a kit drown in the corner of the camp? There was barely any water to begin with, but there it was, dead. Stars above. From his view, walking up behind Lilycreek, it was pretty obvious that he wasn't alive. Stars. "Ms. Lilycreek, do you know their name?" He didn't know what he was supposed to do. What was he supposed to do.
"Firekit, Springkit, come over here." He gestured with his tail as the apprentice travelled a bit away, nodding to Birdpaw to come with him. This was the first time that he'd seen a dead kit, and while he blinked at the idea that one had died so young, he found that perhaps they shouldn't dwell over what might have been. They had to get the baby cats away from the dead, save them from messed-up memories. "I can tell you a few stories if you'd like."
No one was saying anything so far so she was a little annoyed by that, why would no one answer her questions, especially with what was coming from the other apprentice. The young kit had a second thought to maybe repeat her questions maybe then it'd get answers. That thought didn't last long though since it seemed yet another apprentice had shown up, thought this guy seemed important. Springkit didn't quite understand just yet what made then important but she had seen that others came to them a quite a lot. Black fluffly ears perked when she heard her name mentioned, now she was being addressed, finally! She was going to get answers, she had to be why else would someone call her name. Attention now on Stonepaw the torbie came running over with no hesitation. Springkit looked over towards Firekit to see if they joined her to stand by the apprentice. Stories? She liked stories, Cloudjumper in a way had been telling her a story back in the nursery. So in her mind stories was one of her favorite past times. "What kinda of stories? Like past fights?!" she asked.
~ He was gone. Flintfang was gone. There was nothing Raccoonpelt or Silversnow could do about it. Raccoonpelt had wanted to just breakdown the moment Raccoonpelt realized the reality of the situation, but he didn't, he couldn't. No way in hell was he going down the same path as his biological mother and leaving his kits that wasn't going to happen. Raccoonpelt stood up from his seat as he looked around the clearing before spotting the deputy.. leader? Raccoonpelt had no idea what was going on with the high ranks but Gingerfrost was probably the best to talk to about changing his rank. Raccoonpelt Made his way to the tom giving him a small nod of greeting before he started to speak.
"Gingerfrost, I'd like to change my rank to.. queen."
The word 'queen' gave Raccoonpelt a feeling and it wasn't a very good one at that. Something about being called that made him feel bad.
"I'm having Flintfangs kits soon if it wasn't obvious.."
These were usually the things Pikestar- or perhaps Snowleap now- was approached about. Rank changes, that is, the coming of new life to RiverClan. It wasn't exactly something he often was faced with, not even in this manner. Still, it wasn't surprising when the feline approached and asked him this question. No, he was more surprised to find the feline round and pregnant in the first place - practically ready to burst at any moment. Naturally, face with that, there was no reason to deny the request. It was a little painful, knowing the father's recent disappearance, but a fair request all the same. He gave a light nod, naturally agreeing. "Consider it done. ...Good luck."
He still uttered the last two words, ever so quiet, almost easy to miss if it weren't for the fact his lips moved. Why? He didn't know, it he just wished the cat luck with their future children.

She just wanted to stay in Birdpaw's embrace for a little longer. Scratch that. A lot longer. Until her aunt had to come over to pry her off, until Birdpaw herself told Kestrelpaw to get off. She'd missed the pretty blue mitted molly more than she would let on. That was okay, right? To love someone from afar, even if you're not sure they love you back? Maybe it was.
Birdpaw wiped her tears away gently, and Kestrelpaw sunk her head back into her crush's shoulder, giving it a gentle lick. "Missed you." She mumbled again, like a small mantra to herself. "Missed you" More than she would let on, more than she could bear to say. "Dunno what I would do without you." She whispered that last part to herself, unaware that Birdpaw might have heard it.
Birdpaw lamented to her, and she gave a rumbly chuckle; the kind that her aunt had. "Then let's get you settled, yeah?"
She simply clutched at Goldkit's [ @Light000 ] body. The tears were beginning to dry on her face, and she felt weary. Like she was beyond tired. The kind of kind that touched her bones.
Several other cats came to surround her, one of them being Birdpaw. The apprentice she met a long time ago. Her shaky voice made Lilycreek want to shield her, and all the others from all harm. She wanted to gather them all up by her side, curl around them, and tell them stories for the rest of time. She wanted to keep them where she could see them, so they would never be lost, never be cold, nor hungry, nor dead.
Not like Goldkit. Not like her son.
"He's gone." She rasped quietly to the apprentice. "Gone nearly the moment he fell in. I couldn't save him," she whispered to herself. Gone. A hollow word, but carrying enough force to shatter her.
"We need to bury him."
Stone paw appeared at her side, and she nearly cursed. If he was here sooner-
She forced herself to calm down. It was not Stonepaw's fault. It was not anyone's fault. "Goldkit." She said to his question. "His mother... something happened to her. She's gone." She'd never seen a cat around Goldkit. It was all the more cruel this way; no family would grieve the loss. No one but herself.
The queen just got up, gently carrying the body on her back. "C'mon." She said quietly. "Let's lay him to rest."

[ooc: we can end this here and have lily bury the body offscreen if y'all would like?]
[ @littlelove - firekit | @Estelle - in case you want Gingerfrost to do some time magic and have him come back to ask her what happened. ]
[ @sol. @carmen @Leafie @/everyone else involved - ik this is technically ended but it would be ooc for bri to know lily is upset and not do anything so sorry for the gross post ]
Briarkit was horrified by everything that was going on. A denmate, dead. her almost mother-figure, shattered. Her brother, upset. And she couldn't do anything to stop it. Not a thing. Figuring that technically no one could get mad at her if there were other kits out of camp, the wounded, fluffy ginger tabby sprinted forward and tried to press herself against Lily. "I'm sorry Goldie died, Lily. None of it's your fault, okay? Please don't blame yourself. Just like what you told me, right?" After saying her piece, she tried to give the dear queen a nuzzle, and stepped back. She shot Springkit a side eye, seeing how her brother was taking care of it, and a flush of anger filled the young molly's face, stroking her cobwebbed back. Okay. She if she's crying in the middle of a meeting, sleeping all alone in the nursery, or bleeding out in the clearing, that's okay. But if a kid who didn't even know what was going on was at risk of being upset- that was where he intervened? Turning on her heel, the molly stalked back to camp. Whatever. She was used to family leaving her behind. Like Dad lying and abandoning them. Like Antkit running away for a freedom Briarkit wouldn't even dare to try to find. And Stonepaw leaving her behind for the fame and glory of being the cat everyone loves, everyone relies on. Even Mom, who had left her behind for the heavens long before they even knew each other.
She was tired of being the unimportant, forgotten sister. There were maybe two cats who made her feel love, cared about. Valued. Silversnow and Lilycreek. Not her father, not her brother. Not her sister or mother who was stolen from her. Two cats who had been strangers four moons ago were more of a family than her own. Why? She was grateful, but why was it like that? She was so tired of being lied to, being hopeful. Tired of being the dumb, hotheaded sister or daughter who pissed everyone off by speaking her mind. So she was going to stop trying. Yeah. She was going to stop trying, because why waste her time? If it wasn't for Fawlight, she'd be dead by now. If it wasn't for Silversnow, she would have gone insane. If it weren't for Lilycreek... well, Bri would have left. Why stay if no one loves you, if no one makes you feel valued or special?
So Bri just left and went back to her solitary nest, wrapping her tail tightly around her nose and glared at the wall. Maybe it was the concussion, but she was tired and so, so done with this.
Firekit simply stared on at the tragedy, too absorbed in it all to listen to the first few calls for her attention. Only when Stonepaw called to her did she jolt out of her haze.
"...Miss Lilycreek," She started quietly, the quietest she'd ever been. "Can I go with you? I wanna go. I don't wanna leave him, or you..."
Guilt bloomed in her chest. She was too little, and hadn't been fast enough, and now he was gone for forever. Forever. That word sent an uncomfortable spark along her spine. She'd never be good with the idea of forever.
She turned to look at Stonepaw, though still clinging to Lilycreek's side. "...What kinda story?"
Fogcloud, Goosehonk, Cicadapaw, Beetlepaw, and Cheeseburger existed.
