FERRETSNAP
fluffy brown and white tom with amber eyes. he/him
Stalking back into camp, Ferretsnap sought out Gingerfrost with a passing glance. He approached the deputy, flicking his tail in greeting.
"The patrol went fine. Minnowpaw was taught how to mark the border and completed it exceptionally well. However, there was a strong scent of WindClan by the border which must be watched carefully. I don't trust just how strong it was," he explained.
Maybe he'd take it upon himself to look into it further in a few days, just to check it out.
Whitesnake approached Gingerfrost. "I took your advice and went alone, I caught two fish although I didn't pay much attention to what they actually were, they seemed somewhat decent size though." Was she going to say anything else? Nope, she just waited for Gingerfrost to let her get some beauty sleep.
Fogcloud quickly trotted into the camp and toward Gingerfrost they flicked their tail in greeting, “Everything was well at the border other than it being unnaturally quiet.”

Fogcloud quickly trotted into the camp and toward Gingerfrost they flicked their tail in greeting, “Everything was well at the border other than it being unnaturally quiet.”
DayPaw nodded as she looked at GingerFrost as if to confirm her side of the border had been clear as well, she waited for the deputy to intake the information of the report.
The sun was dipping below the horizon. Shadows spread across the clearing, and Beansprout didn't want to waste any time. He found Gingerfrost as soon as he could and spoke. "Nothing to report from Sleepy Thicket, thank the Moon." The siamese lingered for a few moments in case there was anything else that needed done before going to sit guard for a bit.
Darktwist rolled his eyes. Uuuughhh. Now where was that apprentice he was supposed to take with him. Honestly, he'd rather go alone. He didn't even remember. Oh well, he was going to do it by himself.

The tabby tom stalked back into camp, brimming with frustration and anticipation, though he hid it well. Spotting Gingerfrost, he approached to debrief him on the patrol. "Gingerfrost," he greeted briefly, coming to a stop a tail's length away. "Shadowclan border is remarked, but we did unfortunately have an...incident," he explained in a low voice. "I sent Rainpaw and Nightfall off one way, while I patrolled the other, and it seems the apprentice believed it would be a good idea to cross the border." Why? Only Starclan knew. His amber eyes glimmered with disappointment. This was exactly why he was glad his own apprentice wasn't so young and ignorant.
"A Shadowclan Enforcer was nearby and stopped Rainpaw, so we retrieved her and apologized, but I did promise that she would learn her lesson from this...experience." Perhaps he shouldn't have promised this so quickly, without speaking to the deputy, but he'd been in a rush to placate the ShadowClan she-cat. "Thankfully no injuries, but we might need to be more cautious at that border from now on." In case they decided to retaliate. That was just the sort of thing Beastflame could see Dawnstar using as an excuse to attack a RiverClan cat.
Sedgestorm padded back into camp. His patrol had been.... somewhat of a success!
Mistcloud had gotten some tansy leaves, he'd picked some marigold, and Minnowpaw..... had a pawful of knowledge! Hrmmm... he couldn't remember if the apprentice had managed to collect something before they'd left Cattail Pond.
He padded over to Stonepaw and presented his find. "I've got some marigold! And Mistcloud has tansy. Minnowpaw should be here soon as well."

PebbleSplash skipped over with a rather strange catch… Along with that, she appeared to be… wet? Nevermind that, She had been carrying an adder… “GingerFrost, I sent BatPaw to the fresh kill pile then to her den. She participated well and caught two pieces of prey too. She’s turning into quite fine hunter…! Speaking of prey, I’m happy to report that it is just flourishing at the Haven Springs. Something tells me we’ll have a very good green leaf! With very warm waters too-” A purr escaped the jaws of the beautiful molly. She managed to talk quite clearly through the two catches in her jaws… ——————

First to arrive was Pebblesplash, wet and with a peculiar catch, but with good energy and good news. Despite the adder between her jaws boding an eventful hunt, all seemed to have gone well as her report mentioned nothing bad. As such, he decided not to question why she was so... Soaked; the news was good, her spirits high and the catch well enough. With a nod, he dismissed the feline. "That's good. Thank you."
He did comment, pleased to hear Haven Springs was doing so well.

Next, returned Ferretsnap and Minnowpaw. While the news of Minnowpaw was good, he noted that there was no mention of Troutstone (something her mildly interested in, considering the feline's record) and, of course, the news of WindClan. A small wrinkle showed above his nose, thinking this news over. It was strange, to be sure. Either WindClan just had a big patrol mark the border, or.. He shook off the thought. "We'll keep an eye on this."
He replied, giving a light nod. Perhaps he'd check out the border himself later. "Did Troutstone show up to the patrol?"

He didn't have to wait much longer before Beansprout showed up too, bearing news far more reassuring than some of the last. Sleepy Thicket was calm at last. A bit of tension left his body, and he gave a light nod, dismissing Beansprout.

This was... Less good. To say the least. Why, oh, why. Lament, lament, lament. This was bad. It wasn't as though Gingerfrost was afraid of Dawnstar (he wasn't), but he did not want to get on the leader's bad side either. That's be too much trouble for his poor soul, that might as well have left when he heard a ShadowClan enforcer (they sounded important) caught Rainpaw over the border. Luckily nothing escalated -- and let's keep it that way. Gingerfrost was clearly a little bothered by this news, face pulled up in a grimace. Hopefully she did learn her lesson from this experience. Who was her mentor again? Beansprout? The shield might need to learn of this, so they'll go over the importance of not crossing borders soon. Kids these days. He sigh. "Thank you, Beastflame, you're dismissed."
