Tumblepaw blinked, coming out of his state of rage. He shivered, shocked with his actions. He looked up at his fearless mentor and nodded silently in agreement. Getting into a ready stance, he studied Thrushwing for any sign of movement.

Tumblepaw nodded distractedly, too concentrated on searching for movement. He noticed Thrushwing unsheath her claws and bunch her muscles to leap. In that split second of observance, Tumblepaw had quickly leapt to the side, his body ahead of his mind. The grey tabby's yellow eyes widened as he felt his paws slip from under him. I went too fast, he thought quietly in his mind before he fell on his side. Laying there winded, Tumblepaw silently cursed himself. You're an apprentice now! Be careful!

As she noticed the apprentice moving, in some little time, Thrushwing elevated her ginger left arm a little more in the air, moving her paw with long claws into the apprentice, when she reached the apprentice, she scratched a little Tumblepaw, making a tiny scar, by his swiftness in that moment, the scratch did not seem a big proble, ''Impressive'' thinked the tortoiseshell one, then, she moved her right arm again, lower because of the size of Tumblepaw, trying to scratch him again.

Tumblepaw felt a slight pain on his flank and leg as he tried to get up. Looking down, he saw blood welling up on a small scratch on his side and leg. He lapped at the blood, making it go away. The grey fur on his leg now looked untouched, but the long, shallow scratch on his side was a different story. He winced as he drew his tongue along it and when he was satisfied, he stood up and looked determinedly at Thrushwing. He shook his fur out, stretched, and flexed his claws. "I'm ready for more training," he declared.

Burstpaw found he was actually a bit disappointed the battle was over, but he flicked his tail thoughtfully at the question. "Well... I could've bitten one of their paws as they tried to kick," He said aloud. "That way they wouldn't be able to put it down and apply the force to my chest, and I'd be causing pain to my opponent." He was happy his mentor had liked his attack, though he himself hadn't even known it'd work. It'd been a split second decision, and the first thing that'd come to mind.

But if the move is so risky and easily countered, why do even the best of warriors dare to use it? Burstpaw was extremely careful to never show his belly's soft flesh at any point in a battle, for he knew the dangerous consequences. That was why it really surprised him that Flammingarrow's move was so common, and no matter how hard he though about it, the orange tabby couldn't understand why it was so. Don't warriors know a cat's weakest spots, and how to avoid being attacked there? It's like surrendering to your opponent when you show your underbelly!

Flamingarrow nodded approvingly to the answer. "Yes." he said his voice trailing off a little. "Burstpaw, I admire the way you think on your paws. But I have to ask.." he said his gaze trained hard on the apprentice's face. "What troubles you? I can see the questioning gaze in your eyes. Tell me." he asked curiously. He had seen the look many of times before, but mostly used it himself when he was confused about something. He remembered that he often kept his confusion to himself, due to the fact his mentor had never always seen his looks of confusion. Maybe he could catch when his apprentice was confused, and save him a whole lot of doubt later on.

"I hate this forest. I hate it." South snapped as she pushed her way through the undergrowth, giving her fur a shake to rid herself of the burrs that clung to her white and ginger pelt. Her eyes sparked with annoyance as she had to reach around and pluck the last final one with her teeth. Ever since her and West had begun this journey to find their brother North they hadn't come across a single cat. Sure, the scent markers were everywhere, but it seemed that no cat dared venture out here since there were no tracks in the thin layer of snow that covered the ground. South turned her head to look at West over her shoulder. "Shouldn't we have come across them by now? What are they all doing, hiding?" she hissed, obviously displeased at the lack of one, knowing where to go, and two, any cat around to offer directional information.

West grumbled as he also pushed his way through the thick undergrowth, though not as loud as South. The burrs and thorns stuck in his long white fur easily, but he didn't bother to try to pull them out. He was beginning to look more and more like a thorn bush himself. "It's winter yet these bushes are still thick," He complained, his ears flattened. A thorn caught him across the nose after he had just finished his words, earning a few swear words. He could taste blood as it dribbled down from the small scratch. "Ouch ouch ouch, it stings..." After a moment, the tom licked the blood away, and moved to stand by his sister's side as she looked around. "It stinks of them," He muttered. "We must be in their borders by now." The lonor fidgeted under the silence of the ThunderClan forest, kind of afraid of what could be waiting for them. "Maybe we should just wait for them to come to us..."

In his dazed state, Tumblepaw wasn't as sharp as he usually is and caught a paw to the cheek. He reeled backwards and shook his head violently. With a clear mind, Tumblepaw could dodge the sharp claws. "Isn't this supposed to be training? No claws?" He panted as he slid to the side.

If you want to go somewhere ask her and she'll take us there. Got it?" meowed Hopekit. Flowerpetal looked down at her firstborn with a smile. "Very good Hopekit. We don't want to end up like two moons ago, when You accidentally went off and twisted your jaw by falling off that boulder." purred Flowerpetal with a sweet, but stern voice.
