Well... She'd tried the best she could. And yet still Mapleface felt unimaginable guilt. At the same time, she couldn't help but be immensely glad that none of her four kits had been born with disabilities. Even if two of them had disappeared. Call her selfish for thinking that way, but Mapleface couldn't help her own feelings, no matter how brutal they were. She would not be able to sit back at all if it were her kit getting exiled. That... made her wonder where Blazepaw's parents were. Surely they'd be heartbroken to see him leaving? Unless the lad didn't have parents? She didn't know.

"Okay." She said finally to Bumblestar, feeling properly chastesized. Then again, she'd do it all over again if she had to. She turned to Sharpclaw and Blazepaw, setting her jaw. "Ready whenever you are." She told the young warrior. Mapleface wasn't going to try and take command of the patrol, she didn't care to be in a position of power or to get her pay-back for how rudely he'd talked to her earlier. In fact, Mapleface had barely taken offense. Youngsters would be youngsters, she knew how to deal with them, especially since she had to deal with Cracklepaw on a daily basis.

She did stiffen, however, when Sharpclaw called Blazepaw a brat. "Don't you go talking about your Clanmates like that, whether they're leaving or not." Mapleface scolded sternly. not caring if her words fell on deaf ear (no pun intended).

The evening sky was bright and clear as Bumblestar shouldered her way through the lichen that concealed the entrance to her den and looked toward the Stormcrest. It was far later than when she would typically consider holding a meeting, but there was a reason for that. Hopefully it would be dark by the time the meeting concluded, but for now the clouds were bathed in pastel hues of pink and purple. The Stormcrest seemed to be bathed in soft orange light as she crossed the clearing and swiftly ascended to the top.

"ThunderClan, gather beneath the Stormcrest for a Clan meeting!" she commanded, voice echoing clearly across the camp.

Great cats, let a guy sleep for once? Perhaps? With a couple of not-so-nice words grumbled under his breath, Alderstep pried himself from his nest sorrowfully. Looks like he'll be tucking in for the night later. He shook out his pelt and trotted from the warrior's den to the Stormcrest, glancing 'round to see if either of his apprentices were present. He wasn't surprised when he couldn't catch sight of them; he was somehow earlier than usual.

Maybe he could've snatched a couple of moments' worth of sleep before he really had to join the meeting. It was better to play it safe, though. Alderstep doubted that if he'd actually tried to sleep some that he'd get up again, at least not until the sun rose. Oh well, that was life: cruel and unfair. At least this time, Alderstep knew he had plenty of energy to not be dozing off every five seconds. Thinking of the previous meeting made him internally cringe, however, so the russet cat took to tediously grooming his pelt as he waited under the Stormcrest for the rest of the clan to gather. What did Bumblestar have in store for them this time? Better be something good to be holding a meeting so close to his bedtime. The nerve of some cats.

Sootfur joined lazily his clanmates under the Stormcrest, glancing around for Sparrowkit. ...Right, she must be in the nursery. I wonder how she's doing...
The tom couldn't bring himself to visit her as often as he did before. She reminded him so much of Flameheart, the love of his life... and he missed her so much.
Oh, Flameheart...

Sunleap sat down, wondering why Bumblestar was calling a meeting so late. He knew she likely had a reason.

Rainclaw sat down next to her mate. She thought why was Bumblestar calling a meeting so late? Bumblestar hadn't been leader for a long time, but Rainclaw was pretty sure Bumblestar usually called meetings earlier the day. The queen guessed she would find out.

Beetlekit sat down to her mother and father. She wondered why Bumblestar was calling a clan meeting. Wasn't it a bit late for that? The tiny and mute she-kit knew there was likely a reason Bumblestar was calling a meeting so late.

Sheepkit followed her mother and Beetlekit. The large deaf she-kit sat down with absolutely no idea what was happening. It probably looked funny that she was following her mother and Beetlekit, who was much smaller then she was.

Dogkit left the nursery when she heard Bumblestar's calls. She sat down as far away from Mo-Rainclaw and Beetlekit. She thought that she wasn't sitting nearby her evil mother and evil sister! If that met she wasn't sitting next to Dad or Sheepkit either she was perfectly fine with that.
