**Elmshadow**
This round of herb gathering, Elmshadow had admittedly fallen into the age-old pitfall of assuming they'd go smoothly. He'd caught them all directly after the meeting and it was all new apprentices and their new mentors. One would generally believe both groups would be eager to begin their training and bonding and to prove themselves to one another. And yet again he'd left the patrols rather disappointed. It had always irked him how disinterestedly, even callously, so many warriors in this clan took the responsibility of training an apprentice, so he realized that he shouldn't have been surprised by the clustered turnout. All the same, it didn't change what inevitably would come next.
"Ospreysplash, Quiethunter, Houndhunter, Darkfall, Flowerpaw, Chubpaw, Eveningpaw, Morningpaw. Get over here." He projected his voice but held it steady as he took a seat beneath the Shadowledge and awaited the arrival of the slackers.
There were two warriors specifically who were most strictly under the medicine cat's intense ire. They deserved more than the simple punishment that would befall the others. For that reason, he decided to deal with them last. "Houndhunter and Darkfall." He had to admit, those were two warriors he'd never have guessed he would've had a problem with, and yet here they were. It was always a mystery how quickly a cat could rise and fall. "One of you failed to even attempt a patrol assigned to you for your clan and the other apparently wasted his time walking about the territory but returning with nothing. If you believe your time to be more valuable than your clanmates' then I expect a short trip on your own will straighten than out. Stay within the territory but I don't want to see you within camp for the next seven sunrises. And don't bother returning without herbs or prey. I don't much care what you decide on, find the herbs I sent you out for originally or something else you know of. I have no intention of counting on anything from either of you."
[ @vampire @Darkclaws Your OC must have seven posts in the territory or outskirts, you must include gathering the herbs and/or hunting, and is not to return to Shadowclan until Spetember 7. Being seen in Shadowclan camp before that time or before their 7 posts in the outskirts or territory will result in harsher punishment. After completing the punishment, tag @Pitou in this thread to discuss their return with Elmshadow]
"Flowerpaw, Chubpaw, Eveningpaw, Morningpaw. I'm aware that you are all new apprentices but that is all the more reason for you to have no excuse to miss your very first assignment in your new rank. Take this as a lesson and don't mess it up again. Each of you will choose a den and clean it from top to bottom. I want it spotless, new moss, not a thorn in sight, the whole bit. When you've finished, check on the queens or elders to see if they have any needs. Go now."
[ @poppy. @Starfall @ameko You have 10 days to complete the following: 1 post in any of the dens with a minimum 50 word count cleaning the den and nests, and a short RP with any of the queens or elder RPers to speak with an elder or queen (no post req as long as it gets completed. If the other RPer does not/cannot respond, just report to Elmshadow that they refused help and it'll be excused) If you need an extension let me know BEFORE SEPTEMBER 11. Tag @Pitou in this thread when you're ready to report. Characters who fail to meet the the requirements by the deadline with no accepted excuse will face harsher punishment. ]
And to the final two, the two that had been responsible for the care and safety of two young, brand new apprentices, one of which being his granddaughter, and both ultimately leaving the basically kits out in the territory to fend for themselves by all appearances. "Ospreysplash and Quiethunter. Go see Dawnstar. I'll have nothing to do with mentors so irresponsible and careless with the lives of our new apprentices." He knew he'd just as soon exile the two, or at the very least rip the apprentices from them which they'd just been bestowed, but decided this was a judgement best left to the leader. Regardless, something so egregious as leaving a couple apprentices out in the territory alone was something that needed to be brought to Dawnstar's attention.
[ @Ladiebugg Ospreysplash will discuss her punishment with Dawnstar in this thread. ]
And then another thought crossed his mind, sitting in this same spot he'd been in the last time he'd had to dole out puishments. He'd never heard back from any of the punished cats. Icebeam and Deadfeather had been temporarily exiled and never made it back, along with the rather large group of warriors he'd sent out into the territory. The apprentices, though, he'd seen Lilypaw recently but he'd never received any sort of report from her that he could recall. So as a last minute addition, he called out, "Lilypaw!" He waited once more for the final slacker to come forward. "you skipped out on your responsibilities and were given a second chance to make it right. It seems you've missed that opportunity as well. If you cannot take your training seriously then you've no place in Shadowclan, certainly not coddled as an apprentice." Judging by the age of the apprentice, she was nearing her ability to make her warrior ceremony. That would indeed be shelved for the time being. "I'll see to your warrior ceremony being delayed and, for the next seven sunrises, I don't want to see you about camp. Live in the territory and don't return empty-pawed. When you've completed your partial exile, come see me. If you should decide to disregard this order as you did the first two, there will not be another line of mercy for you. Leave."

(ADHD got to me about the patrol, sorry about that! /gen)
Folded ears flat as could be against his head, Morningpaw trudged up to the Shadowledge where the medicine cat waited. Being in trouble was a really bad feeling! He had wanted to finish the patrol, but where was he to go when his mentor disappeared? He'd never been in the territory before. Still, though, he knew it was his fault too for not looking for Larkfire or Eveningpaw, even if they'd split up.
"Yes, Elmshadow," he said, glancing up at the (admittedly intimidating) tom before looking away.
"I could clean the, uhm, the elders' den," he offered, voice small, before promptly turning around to go do just that.

OspreySplash rolled her eyes, nodding.
The ShadowClan leader looked less than impressed at the warrior's eye roll. "I've torn out a cat's eye for less, I suggest you knock it off if you'd like to keep your eyes in your head," Dawnstar warned with a thunderous snarl.
"Do you not care about the responsibility that I've given you? The trust I placed in you when I assigned you an apprentice? Aside from leaving Ruepaw on her own, you failed to take care of the patrol itself, failing your duty to the clan. If you don't want to take any of this seriously, I can take away Ruepaw and exile you so you can go bum as a loner or kittypet. Be as lazy and irresponsible as you want on your own. Shall we do that?"

OspreySplash blinked. 'Ah no, I'd like to keep my eyes thanks.'
(Ooc: oooh noo whatever shall I doooo, if she makes DawnStar too mad she doesn't need to see it's fine)
'I apologize for uh... neglecting my responsibilities. That's on me. The apprentices wandered off (ooc: lies) and I got distracted by a noise I heard, so I went to investigate. (ooc: again, lies) It will not happen again. I would hate to be exiled and leave my sister here alone.'
Rufflepaw spent little time heading to where he and brokentalon got assigned a patrol. "We're done with the patrol Vulturefang! We got lots and lots of prey!" he puffed out his chest, proud of his accomplishment. He was curious to know if Brokentalen was behind him at the moment. But he could assure anyone that the warrior was behind him when they returned to camp.

"Known for their strength bears are a symbol of strength, courage, and tenacity."
BearStrike sighed as she went back to see Vulture.
"Im done, I went by myself. It was clear, and is marked correctly."
She was sooooo bored. Doing a patrol was so annoying, it was scary, boring, and when your by yourself, worry some. She was more than happy it was over.

A cat on a mission, Mousepaw led the way through the camp entrance, trusting the two warriors to be able to better keep an eye on Yellowpaw than himself. They were their superiors, after all. There was hardly much the older apprentice could command of Yellowpaw himself. At least the tom had agreed to coming with them without much preamble, even after the odd request to speak before getting to Dawnstar for common sense reasons. Well, request granted, he supposed. He'd just take him to Vulturefang first. When everything was said and done, the deputy had been the one to send the patrol to Herondive Hollow.
"Vulturefang, we're back!" the muscular apprentice called out, padding towards the scarred tom. "Found ourselves Yellowfang patrolling the border himself. Wasn't alone, though. Had a ThunderClan apprentice on the other side of the border to keep him company. Requested a chance to explain the situation before we brought him to Dawnstar. Thought you might want to hear what he has to say," he mewed, a stern scowl on his face as he reported their findings at the border.

The ginger she-cat padded behind everyone, brought up the rear to keep a sharp eye on the cats. YellowPaw was pretty stupid to this, that she will admit but it did take some guts. She thought her father, Haven'Gaze, would be proud of her. She nodded at everything her patrol mate said. Dang! This apprentice was good! MousePaw was bound to be a great warrior one day.
The large gray Tom stared at his apprentice for a few moments before me meowed in a dark tone. Chirppaw have you eaten lately? Your skinnier than usual. chirppaw was startled by the question and shook his head in response n-n-no s-sir I’ve been busy.. beartooth sighed and shook his head. Calling over his shoulder to vulturefang I’m taking chirp paw out hunting we’ll be back soon sir. with that he turned and walked away with his apprentice trailing behind.
