He'd notice she disappeared, probably. It didn't take her long to catch the prey and when she rejoined him, he was complaining that there was no prey. It was quite amusing, as she was carrying a scrawny squirrel in her jaws. She set it down and kicked dirt over it, "Perhaps using your nose would be more beneficial than looking around aimlessly." She could have been nicer about it, but the tom had gotten on her nerves already and she lost her kind attitude. She glanced at him once and then left his side and scented the air, not straying too far from him.
Her ears perked up as he apologized for snapping, explaining he hated being told what, that he didn't get to do what he wanted. At first, she thought he was selfish and foolish, but then she could relate. Every cat was like him once, when they were young apprentices. "You'll have to get used to it," she stated softly, "We'll be given orders we don't always like, and we'll have to do things we don't like. We aren't in charge, after all." She looked at him with a soft smile, as if reassuring him there were no grudges between them. Though, when he asked if he could make it up to her, she just stared blankly at him. "There's nothing to be made up," she mewed and turned away from him, focusing on trying to catch a scent of something. There was nothing, and so she returned to his side.

Sweetpaw narrowed his eyes at the molly as she began to walk away, annoyance began to grow larger with every step she took. After a few seconds of just glaring he let out a snort and shook off his fur, trying to get rid of the snow clumps that attached themselves to his soft pelt. He decided to take the others advise and try to scent the prey instead, he lifted his maw and drank in the scents around him, hoping that there was at least a small morsel leaf-bare wanted to spare. To his surprise he managed to scent a mouse, near the brambles, this made him giddy, his first catch, unless of course Sycamorepaw wished to catch it. He turned his green hues to the molly as she stood next to him, he flicked his tail in the direction of the mouse and began to stalk forward, hoping that the snow would be a little quieter. Before he got too close he made sure that he was downwind of the mouse, remembering the lesson that Nightflash taught him, recalling the firm and serious attitude of the tom as he nagged the younger. Once he made sure he was down wind he creeped forward until he was about three mouse-lengths away from the mouse, then lurched forward, quickly snapping the morsels neck beneath his paws. The cream tabby grinned and buried the catch, making sure it was buried enough that no preying hunters would try and steal it. He whipped around and faced the other, a big grin plastered on his face "That was my first catch! Though it was a little small...." he trailed off, turning his gaze back to his catch, it wasn't the best, or the biggest, but it was what the clan needed right now, and he knew that, but he still wished that he could have gotten something bigger, better, something that could have fed more mouths. He let out a sigh and looked back at the older, "You're in charge, where to now?" he asked, his tail tip flicking back and fourth as he waited for an answer.

Sycamorepaw had caught a trace of the mouse, but as she saw Sweetpaw signal he was going to retrieve it, she sat silently and watched him. Her eyes were observant, and she watched curiously as he began to stalk his prey. His stance was a bit off, but he had the patience to take it slow and steady. With more training, she though, he'd be a valuable hunter. As he caught the prey, she felt a burst of pride, but she didn't let it show. Finding out that this was his first catch, she felt honored to be able to witness it, though she questioned the methods of his mentor in that he hasn't caught anything yet. "That was a very good catch, especially for it being your first one." She looked at him with a reassuring grin, a small prideful glint in her eyes before she looked away, debating his question of where they would go next. "How about we head towards the opposite border, and if we don't find anything head back this way and then make our way back to camp? We don't want to be out too long, and if we don't find anything in that time we probably won't if we keep trying." She doubted they would find any prey, but they couldn't just give up. Patrols didn't function that way. SkyClan warriors didn't give up.
Looking back at the younger apprentice, she started forward, making her way to the opposite border in hopes the pair would find something for the clan to eat. She knew the warrior patrols had found prey, but the more they found, the better the clan could eat.

This was it. The final leg of his plan. He sensed them before they even left the camp, and they were angry. That's what the black oriental wanted. Anger. Anger blinds you in battle. His scent masked, he stalked silently, following behind the leader and deputy, his icy orbs focused on theirs movement. They were cautious, but they was still not the fighting type. This gave him the upper hand.
He debated on whether or not to jump out and attack, but he simply glanced at his companion, his gaze telling him to stay back- for now. He calmly gained ahead if the leader than stepped onto his path, his head low and a murderous gaze came from the mists that filled the cold air around his eyes. He said nothing, he did nothing. He simply stared deep into his eyes, like his gaze was peircing to his very soul.
After a while, he rose his head, and a cool smile crossed his maw. "Grousestar..." he meowed, hius voice calm and husky. "This is an honor, wouldn't you agree?" he said, and turned to the deputy. "And you must be Auroraflame. This is a pleasure." he chuckled.
"I must say, I thought you would be solo, but good thing you are not." he said, and he flicked his tail, signalling Hannibal to step from his hidden place. "Meet my companion, Hannibal." he meowed, his gaze unwavering from Grousestar's green eyes. How far will he go? he asked himself.

Auroraflame padded beside Grousestar at a rather cautious, yet brisk pace. She was going to let this killer know that he wasn't welcome here. Hearing the news that he had killed a few members in her clan, she couldn't say she had been the happiest cat on earth. The deputy was glad that they had finally found the time to make the killer stop. Auroraflame didn't know much about the cat, only that he was a tom and his name was Onyx, and obviously that he had mudered a few Skyclan cats. The ebony she-cat's claws were unsheathed and her ears were perked up, listening carefully for any sign that could give away the murderer's hiding spot. Auroraflame got the feeling that someone was watching them, she felt like someone's eyes were piercing into her back, burning a hole through her. I bet a moon of dawn patrols that someone's following us, Auroraflame thought suspiciously. For her, that thought wasn't one that she was completely certain about, but she had some suspicion about it.
Suddenly, a black oriental stepped out of the undergrowth. She halted in a graceful manner, not a sharp one, despite how suddenly Onyx had appeared out of the bushes. She eyed the tom for a moment, scanning him before a thought came to mind, Ugly. Maybe it was just her anger at the tom that made her think he was ugly, or maybe she thought it was the truth. Onyx's deep blue orbs pierced into her and Grousestar's. Auroraflame didn't know what Grousestar would do to deal with his staring but she simply stared back. Her face without an expression, her icy blues hues staring back at his own. If he was asking for a staring contest, she would give him one.
She stopped though as Onyx lifted his head higher and spoke in a calm voice. The sound of Onyx's chuckle just made her want to kill his voice box. Auroraflame wasn't really scared of Onyx, just angry. He had killed innocent cats that hadn't deserved it. Normally, Auroraflame was friendly and easy to approach but as of now, if you were the murderer, you may not want to face her. "Oh the pleasure is all mine Onyx", Auroraflame finally said calmy. The ebony she-cat had a fake smile on her maw, though her icy orbs were cold, and they gave off a deadly look.
The deputy's gaze unwavered as Hannibal stepped out. He brought along a friend, how lovely of him, Auroraflame thought. No matter the situation (unless someone had died), Auroraflame would always be able to come up with something sarcastic to say or think.

Grousestar was a very proactive leader in his clan, he always noticed when someone was missing and what was going on because he always looked for that sort of thing, he liked to get to know the cats of his clan, not just blindly rule a bunch of cats. He wasn't in this for power or for fame, he was in this to better Skyclan and to make his clanmates proud to be a part of Skyclan. There was no cat in this clan that was more loyal than the leader himself and that was a fact. So when he started noticing the absence of some of his warriors and apprentices and started getting reports of corpses being marked with an 'x', he knew he had to put a stop to it. It infuriated him that some other cat would dare to do that to any member of his clan. It was like a personal attack on him and Starclan save any cat that threatened the safety of his friends.
As he padded out of camp with his deputy, a starkly cold look was on his face, something that completely contrasted everything that he usually was. His emerald eyes were not light, cheery, happy, they were angered, cool, controlled. He was going to deal with this problem as efficiently as he could. Despite his anger though, he was no idiot, he knew that he hadn't a clue about how many cats were doing this or what their skill set was and so he knew it wouldn't be a good idea to go out alone. So what better cat to bring than his own deputy? Grousestar trusted her completely, why else would he chose her for deputy.
As the two figureheads of the clan made their way out into the territory to confront the problem, the leader couldn't quite help but have a feeling that he was being watched though simply brushed it off as perhaps a subtle nervousness that came about with dealing with things like this. Sure he was a strong tom, but the fact that some of his warriors and apprentices were outright murdered for no reason? It could be a bit unnerving. But he didn't show this, he didn't even think about this, he focused on the fact that the safety of his clan was being threatened, helping to fuel his cold anger.
Suddenly a black oriental intercepted the two, not saying a word at first, simply staring into the Skyclan leader's eyes who cooly stared right back, the tip of his tail flicking. This is the one alright.
It was the look in the cats eyes that gave it away, and the fact that he had a hard time picking out a scent, meaning that he had purposefully tried to get rid of it. This was the cat that was murdering members of his clan.
Flicking an ear, he let the tom speak, unsure of how the black cat knew of his name but deciding to not let it bother him. His name has likely spread through all of the clans by this time.
"I'm sorry to say sir, but no, I don't believe it is an honor to meet you, in fact, I'm not even sure of your name." It was a polite statement, but it was cold and flat, showing that Grousestar truly meant business and was not unnerved by the toms sudden appearance or the fact that he was unable to scent him immediately.
Hannibal stayed as silent and as still as ever, observing the two Skyclan cats, looking first at Grousestar and then at Auroraflame, reading their demeanor and making assumptions of what they were thinking, how they felt. When Onyx made mention of him, he simply flicked his ear and stood, stepping forward and politely dipping his head to the two, despite the fact that he's been murdering and assisting in the murder of their cats.
"Greetings."
Those fiery hell pits that were his eyes focused on the leader and then at Auroraflame again, the sunlight glinting off of his unsheathed, clean claws.
"Right. You are not of Skyclan, either of you, what are you doing in my territory." Grousestar questioned, not harshly but sternly, his jaw taught as he looked back and forth between the two toms, not out right accusing them of the murders considering he couldn't be completely positive of it, but wanting at least an answer to that basic question, from whichever would answer first.

Sterlingrose sighs, she squared her shoulders, and chewed on her maw silently, clearly she was nervous, but for what reason?
The she-cat's silver tawny pelt shone in the sunlight, as did her green eyes, as she laid down by a tree, stiffly.

Onyx liked this tom. He was calm, collected, good traits of a leader. He liked the briskness of Auroraflame, the power she held in her gaze, in her demeanor. This was going better then he planned. He felt a smile cross his maw, and with a calm, friendly-looking smile (only countered by his murderous stare), he began to speak.
"I am Onyx of the Dusk Syndicate." he said, dipping his head. "I see you are not happy of my acts, and I am sorry to say it was necessary. I needed to let you guys know who you are dealing with. I'm giving you the Syndicate Welcome." he said. His icy orbs scanned the leader, then the deputy. They had looks of hatred toward him. Were they really that mad over a few warriors? Over an apprentice? Intrigue filled his gaze, and he decided that maybe he could get a little under their skin. If he brought them up.
"Now, down to business. You are probably here to, throw me out." he said, and he debated. He had a thought in mind. Maybe he proved his point enough, and so, maybe he wouldn't have to leave by force. It may benefit him in the future. "And you don't have to." he said with finality. He planned that if he were to, be 'friends' with this clan, that they would help him, so he was not going to fight back unless he had too.
"All we want is information, how you think, how you fight, how you act when under pressure." he then turned to Auroraflame, having seen her and Cliffheart together many times before. "Your friend, Cliff was it, gave a very good help on that." he chuckled darkly.
"So, let's make this quick. I used to be like you. Nice, sweet, even loved unconditionally. So I know where you stand. But please, my condolences, I hope me letting that little Abyssinian live was proof enough I only mean good for my Syndicate, and that I must do what is necessary for it." he said. "Like you would do anything for your clan."
With that final word, he then sat on his haunches in thought. Maybe if I don't fight them... his entire thought process was changing. His murderous gaze softening with no realization from the oriental that they were doing so. They came out here to protect cats that are under them, as if they were not. This, indeed, did intrigue him, and he wondered what benefits it could do him.
Onyx was beginning to second think his entire way he lived in the Syndicate. Was he just in if for power? Was he truly power-hungry, that bloodthristy? Normally, his brothers would disagree, but Onyx had been such a murderer they never talk to him anymore. His own kin shamed him. He was working side-by-side with a kind of cat he would normally kill to protect his family. Maybe he deserved his distrust.
But whatever made hm a killer was wiping away the kind thoughts and he had to bit his tongue to say no further. They weren't going to be nice, and so, in return, he wasn't going to be either. Now, this was a matter of who is better at smooth talking to work their way out of a fight. Battle was just around the corner, he could feel it, and it made his whiskers twitch slightly.

Despite Auroraflame having icy blue hues, a flame flickered in them. Her fake smile dropped as he started talking. No more acts, she was just going to stay here, filled with anger. She watched as a calm smile crossed Onyx's face, though there was still a murderous look in his eyes. She wasn't really phased by it. It kind of creeped her out, and she wondered if his eyes hurt from keeping that up, but other then that, she wasn't really scared, just mad. Auroraflame and her leader were here to get rid of a problem, and that's what they were going to do. Auroraflame had enough anger to kill Onyx, but she wasn't that kind of a cat. Despite him being a killer, he probably had a family at home who would bawl their eyes out if he died. She would feel that way anyway if she lost a family member. The deputy planned on just letting Onyx know he wasn't welcome.
Onyx's 'welcome' had been the cause of the deaths of a few members in SkyClan. He was going to pay. They may have just been warriors, and an apprentice, but they were part of the clan. They deserved to be avenged and that's what her and Grousestar would do. I believe it's the Dusk Syndicate who should know who they're dealing with, Auroraflame thought, rolling her eyes, not really care if Onyx got mad at her for it. "You're welcome was just lovely", She said through gritted teeth. Well I hope for the Syndicate doesn't give us any more 'welcomes' because after this they will know what to expect, Auroraflame thought bitterly.
Auroraflame stared at Onyx with an expression that said, 'Are you stupid?'. Of course we have to throw you out! You killed members of our clan!, Auroraflame thought, exasperated by Onyx. The bombay she-cat was clearly not going to let Onyx slip away and she was sure that Grousestar wasn't going to either.
Cliffheart. The deputy thought as Onyx mentioned him being a rather big help. She had to say she was quite surprised, but she didn't let her expression change. Although she couldn't help but think, Did Cliffheart betray us? No. He must've been forced. Knowing her friend, he was a loyal cat and wouldn't betray SkyClan for anything. She didn't question his loyalty, but for her own curiousity, she would visit him in the Medicine Cat Den later and ask him about what happened. "That information is for us and us only. You do not need to know about any of it", Auroraflame said calmly, though there was coldness in her voice. "So you can get your fat nose out of our business", Auroraflame continued flatly. She wasn't sure whether her insult would anger him or not. She didn't care though, she just wished to give him the truth.
"You may have let our friend go, but that doesn't make up for all our other friends that you killed", the ebony she-cat snarled quietly. Even though she wasn't very well acquainted with the poor victims that had been killed, that didn't mean they weren't her friend. To her, everyone in her clan was a friend. They were one united force, they were strong. SkyClan had managed to rid four clans of the evil leaders, so they could fight another one couldn't they? The Dusk Syndicate certainly wasn't a clan, but things couldn't be that different could they? She guessed, judging by Onyx and Hannibal and their 'welcome', the Syndicate probably had some more cruel ways of running things. And she had the feeling Grousestar might agree.
Onyx had asked for a fight, she was going to give him one. Determination and anger lit the flames in her eyes, her eyes narrowed at the oriental in distrust and anger. Auroraflame refused to let him slip away without a nice 'goodbye'. She remembered his companion Hannibal still stood there. Her eyes momentarily flickered to the gray cat. Wonder what he can do, Auroraflame thought. Onyx may be stupid to mess with SkyClan, but that didn't mean he was a complete idiot. He would've chosen a strong cat to come along with him. Still, she didn't let herself be fazed, she refused to let the two toms mess with her mind.
The deputy wasn't quite sure what Onyx's cause for this was, but she got the feeling it wasn't for the Syndicate. Through the bombay's eyes, the oriental didn't seem like a cat who would do this just for the Syndicate. There were many things she still had yet to discover about this cat, but today wasn't the day.

The cream tabby's whiskers quivered as he began to follow the other, making sure to keep an eye out for deep snow spots, not wanting to repeat the emberassing event that took place earlier. He lashed his tail and kept a few mouse lengths behind the older apprentice, making sure that he wouldn't accidentally trip her, he could already imagine what would happen if he made her fall face first in the snow, he managed to suppress a chuckle as a picture of the soon to be warrior falling into the snow. He shook his head and lightly jogged up to the side of Sycamorepaw, his green hues centered in front of him "So you're going to become a warrior soon...have you always wanted to be a warrior...or something else?" he asked, his ears flicking in the direction of the molly, making sure he heard everything she said, though at the moment she didn't seem really chatty, which was mainly his fault, he actually wanted to get to know his clanmates a little better, though he is out of his comfort zone, he held in his personal opinions, his personal believes, told no one, let no one in, he didn't understand why he was letting his thoughts spill out now, but maybe it was time, possibly with one who would become his friend. But then again, possibly, she would judge him, make fun of him, hate him, but he had to take the chance, though he didn't know why, but he wanted to try it out "I hear cats talk about tribes....they live by the sea...do you think it's true? I mean I don't want to go live there...but maybe...have you ever wanted to visit them?" he asked, turning his forest green orbs upon the molly, curiosity danced in the shining orbs "The tales, many moons ago.......we moved, crossed paths with them...was it true, or was it just a tail for kits?" he asked, honeslty wanting to know her opinion, wanting to chart out her stance, figure out her beliefs, her opinions, he wanted to pick her brain, figure out everything she knew, who knows, it could help him become an even better apprentice. He turned his attention back in front of him, letting out another emberassing sqeak as he tripped over a rock, but he refused to slow his pace.

While the black oriental produced a small, Grousestar did not, his face was still cold and neutral, though there was an undertone of anger in his eyes as he looked mostly at Onyx, finding that the other tom unnerved him terribly. That other cat, he didn't have anything behind his eyes, it was almost like he wasn't an actual being, like he was just a stone that could speak and the leader didn't like that. It was nothing that the cat said, in fact, the tom had only spoken once and that was greeting them, and it wasn't even in his demeanor, those eyes.. Grousestar focused on Onyx instead and gave no notion to the uneasiness he felt about the other tom.
The brown tabby allowed for the other to speak, sensing the frustration and anger and hostility in his deputy, though trusting that she could contain herself, he showed nothing but a cool calmness.
At the toms greeting, the tip of his tail flicked and he shook his head, that look of anger becoming more apparent momentarily.
"I'm sorry, but you're wrong Onyx. You see, that's not what decent cats do to make a 'welcome' and I truly hope you're not blind enough to notice that cats don't take kindly to these sorts of acts. And I'm sorry if this may come off as rude in any way, but you're not showing me who Skyclan is dealing with, you're showing me that I need to focus my attention more on you and become more aggressive with your Syndicate should I continue to find any of you on my territory." While he did have hatred towards the Syndicate toms, he had a better time of at least dulling it rather than making it completely apparent like Auroraflame. Flicking his ear, he glanced over at the black she-cat as she made the gritted comment about his welcome.
When the oriental began speaking again, his cold emerald gaze focused right back on him, listening very carefully to the toms words and allowing him to finish before he spoke up. But the comment about Cliffheart, now that brought a deep growl to his throat, this tom was outright admitting that he had attacked the warrior, Grousestar's tail lashing with the anger but immediately he forced himself to calm down. He didn't need to anger so quickly, because that was surely what the tom was going for. Licking his lips, the tom stood a bit taller, straightened himself out.
"Auroraflame is right, this is Skyclan business and it is of no concern to you nor will it ever be.
Grousestar was growing tired of talking to the tom and that was becoming apparent on his face as Onyx finished speaking, a sharp look in his eye.
"I don't mean to be blunt nor rude with this statement, but you do not mean that. You do not mean your condolences and I will never forgive you of your crimes against my clan. And I'm sorry, but letting one cat live does not atone for your actions. My warriors will now be ordered to attack the both of you on sight and to attack any Syndicate members found on the territory. Should I continue to have further problems with your Syndicate I will personally pay a visit to your leader. And if that doesn't work. Well. I truly hope it doesn't get to that point. Now don't get comfy because we're leaving now. Come on, up." The leader meowed with force, nodding his head at the sitting cat and casting a brief glance at the tom who had hardly spoken.
To say in the least, Hannibal thought the way that Onyx was speaking to this cat was reckless and a waste of a good opportunity. He should have did the talking, he could have easily made an acquaintance of this tom; truthfully, he thought this entire idea of padding into Skyclan territory and killing their warriors was a bad idea. But this was all part of his plan to grow his 'bond' with Onyx, get closer to that reckless killer that only killed for sport.
So he wasn't surprised to find that the leader wanted them out as quickly as possible. Hannibal wouldn't object, he had no reason to, he had the information he desired, though if he were able to feel bitterness, he likely would have felt it towards Onyx for allowing them to get caught. Because that's just not something Hannibal did, he covered his tracks, always, and kept what he did a mystery because no cat needed to know anything about him. But alas, he felt nothing and simply looked to the oriental.
"It appears we've over stayed our welcome."
This tom, this leader.. Grousestar. He was a polite tom and if Hannibal was capable of liking things, he liked that. He would have no quarrel with him and would very likely not need to kill him, he doubts he would get in the way of anything that he wished to do.
"My apologies for the way my partner has spoken to the both of you. We will make sure to no longer infiltrate your territory and my apologies that you had to have this sort of welcome from the Syndicate." It was a polite tone and from what anyone could tell, it was sincere, but that's what Hannibal was good at. Faking things, lying. It was easy to do when you held no emotions. He would likely come back into Skyclan territory whenever he pleased, but next time, he would do it alone and he would not get caught. Nonetheless, no one could be able to tell this and he truly did seem to be apologetic towards the trespassing and murders. But no one knew Hannibal.
