Minnowpaw vaguely remembered her first patrol. It had been right after her apprentice ceremony.
Groaning as she stood, the grey apprentice slowly walked her way over towards the new deputy.
Had Juniperpaw ever been on a patrol?
The thought felt like a kick to the gut.
Juniperpaw had never gone on a patrol, had she?

She froze in her tracks.

Hearing his name called, Lionpaw made his way to the clan's newest patrol place. It had been a while since he'd last gone on a patrol. He was beginning to become restless just lying around the camp all day. He hadn't had any training done either; not ever since his mentor disappeared.

Where was he anyway? He couldn't even say goodbye before ditching him, huh? Lionpaw sniffed. He didn't need Darklight anyway. He was just some wannabe RiverClanner.

The golden tom approached Larkwing with a smile. He kept his words short and polite, not wanting to give a bad first impression. "I'm delighted to hunt with you, Larkwing. I think we'll get along swell today,"

He paid no mind to his other patrolmates. They weren't worth his time.

The massive Lionheart looked up as his name was beeing called... Well... No respite for him... He got up and looked over the cats to find his patrolmates. Good. They already regrouped. Approaching the group he spoke up "Let's go. No time to lose.", he turned and went toward the entrance of the camp.

Pricking his ears at Larkwing's call Falconflight slowly started to get up from where he'd been laying and let out a huge yawn as he blinked the sleep out of his eyes he'd been having a nice nap when he was awakened by his sister's apparent need to start patrols as soon as she became deputy...oh well he was bored anyway.

Padding over causally his head held high with confidence despite the drowsiness in his fiery orange eyes the grey tabby half listened half ignored the deputy's orders but did hear who he'd be patrolling with "Yeah got it sis" he mumured absently as he started to make his way over to his patrol.

An annoyed frown formed on the tom's face as he caught sight of a familiar thick furred pelt "Oh no this brat" he thought unhappily he had a dislike for this apprentice as he remembered he had been demanding to be carried during the camp move and had been extremely rude to Falconflight.

Getting into earshot he soon heard something that made him scoff loudly he couldn't believe what he was hearing that was the most pathetic sentence ever what was he trying to do get on the good side of the deputy so that he can become her pet?!

"Bet ya wouldn't be saying that if she wasn't deputy" he muttered mockingly a sneer on his face as he sat down a fox-lenght away from Lionpaw cocking his head as he made another comment "Aren't you the one who demanded to be carried and cried like a kit when I told you to walk yourself?" he asked in the same scornful tone he was enjoying making fun of the young cat who he thought deserved it and wouldn't allow his sister to fall for his act.

That voice. Lionpaw didn't need to look to know who it belonged to.

Falconflight.

"You must be mistaken," He mewed. "I haven't a clue who you are. It must have been some kit you confused me for. I am quite... small for my age." Lionpaw struggled not to scoff. He so disliked having to insult himself like this. But he'd say whatever he had to just to spite the older tom.

"And I'll have you know that I am very respectful of my elders," 'At least to those who deserve it,' he thought to himself.

He turned away from Falconlight, tail lashing behind him. His smile was strained, but he managed to keep his cool as he returned his attention to Larkwing. "Terribly sorry for all that. This isn't the first time someone's mistaken me for a kit," Lionpaw laughed; one that could be described as a posh hum.

Despite himself, his face felt flushed beneath his golden fur. Even if Larkwing believed him over Falonflight, that dumb warrior still succeeded in embarrassing him. He'd get back at him for this later...

A sleek dilute tortie she-cat with green eyes

Listening to the exchange between the two, Larkwing couldn't help but think that... well, maybe she had made a mistake when she was formulating the patrols. She hadn't taken into account Lionpaw and Falconflight's apparent distain for each other when considering. But that was something to learn from, something to take into account later. She could handle petulant apprentices just fine, Falconflight on the other paw...didn't seem to have the same convictions in his heart about handling little Lionpaw.

"Alright, that's enough, both of you," the molly says, trying to suppress a small smile at the absurdity of it all. 'Bickering like no tomorrow...' She thought before turning her attention back to address her patrol once more. "We'll wait a moment longer for Briarpaw, play nice you two, I don't want to lose any valuable prey from your nonsense." Though it was sort of an order, Larkwing made sure her tone was a little playful. It wouldn't do any of them any good if she soured the mood with stern orders.

Confusion came across Falconflight's features for a moment before he shrugged carelessly "If you say so" he still didn't completely believe Lionpaw but he didn't say anything else until the apprentice started his polite chit chat again.

He couldn't help but snicker at such formal words, this little cat was so pathetic to him just being overly posh and good to get the favour of the deputy he wouldn't do that this was his sister after all just because she was a high rank now didn't mean he'd treat her any different.

His attention focused on Larkwing as she scolded the two "Yeah, Yeah sis whatever you say" he mewed causally before rolling his eyes playfully pretending to hide it he could hear that she was had humor in her voice and he decided to joke as well.

Trotting up to his sister's side he attempted to give her a playful nudge with his shoulder a teasing smile on his face "Now don't get too bossy now that your deputy or I'll have to put ya in your place" he joked unlike with Lionpaw this was all in good sibling humor rather than making fun of and she probably wouldn't take it too seriously anyways what would she do? Punish her brother for being "disrespectful"? Ha! As if!
