Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
The tom watched as the other Warrior left, ears twitching. He'd heard rumors, whispers the moment he stepped paw into this Clan. Of what had happened, or what may have happened. Paws rubbing against the ground below him as he did his best to attempt to explain what it was he was going to ask. How could you ask such a thing, after all? Ask someone if they'd killed the one feline he'd been looking for.
Ears airplaning, as his brows furrowed together. "Did you?" he asked, finally, after many moments of pause. Looking up after it had been asked. Aiming to look direcly in the mollies eyes. "Did you kill him?" it was gentle, and soft. But behind it hid a flickering flame of anger. He wouldn't play on it yet, however. He wouldn't get angry until he had answers. Until he knew the reason why. If she even did.

// @FrostyGalaxy - very short and very ew post so sorry
With the permission of her leader, the ragdoll padded into the den, dipping her head with a small, weary smile of greetings. "Sorry to bother you- I was out hunting near the border when I saw an outsider standing on the scentlines. I questioned him, of course, and he claimed that he had a son in RiverClan and wanted to see him. He bore some resemblance to Charredpaw, if that helps at all, but I ultimately decided to lead him to the Outskirts. I apologize if you would have preferred a different course of action, I just didn't know if he was being honest or not and didn't want to risk it."
The day had been pretty quiet so far, and Lark was looking forward to spending a few minutes alone to decompress - but her work is never done, it seems, and soon enough there's a voice outside, asking to speak with her. Stars, hopefully she actually had an answer to any questions asked...
"Y-yes?" She manages to force out, "what's on your mind, Hollytail?"

Big bird had said something about eating and getting plenty of nutrients but habit had mostly paid more attention to his surroundings than the large cat who was speaking to him. Bright green doll like eyes slowly blinked open and darted around to find the source of the new smell. Catching a glimpse of a larger cat sleeping on the floor not far away he carefully crept out of his nest to get a closer look.
Though his curiosity was great he still kept a respectful distance from the older cat seeing as he didn’t wish to disturb them much. If he remembered correctly big bird seemed fond of this cat. Perhaps they were siblings in some way? Or maybe just really good friends? He crouched down to get eye level with larkstar as he studied her fur colors and her body shape. She looked strong yet kind in his eyes. Just like big bird in a way..miss tansy was definitely kind but also a clutter brained bird as well. Speaking of miss tansy he wanted to know how she was doing..she was like a big sister for him and he definitely enjoyed spending time with someone who was also new to clan life.
@FrostyGalaxy - ( don’t mind him he’s just curious! Mind if he ask’s a few questions? )
Movement woke her up, and Larkstar slowly blinked open her eyes, yawning as she woke up. How long had she managed to sleep? Her muscles still felt tired... Clarity finally coming to her now, she took note of the little cat sitting a small distance away, apparently watching her. What was..? Oh, right, this was the one who had slept in her nest. Trying for a smile, she offered a greeting "hello there, was the nest comfortable?"
"LarkStar?" RabbitKit Walked in "Can i speak to you?" she asked
Looking up from her grooming as Rabbitkit walked in, Lark sighed. Another problem she was not at all qualified to handle. "Yes? What can I do for you?"

Something in the way Sunnybunny looked at her as he asked his question almost made Lark want to shiver. He seemed calm enough, but there was an intensity behind his eyes that suggested this may be a bigger deal to him that his posture was letting on. She floundered for a moment, trying to figure out just who he was referring to when it dawned on her - she probably should have made the connection instantly, but she was still trying to not think of it.
She'd heard the rumors, the outright accusations on the day she had been forced to announce Gingerstar's death... it wasn't a day she liked looking back on. But her answer mattered to Sunnybunny, she couldn't give him a half answer to spare her own mind.
"Of course not," she said, and her gaze traveled to the floor, to the spot where she could still sometimes see the body of her once leader laying there. "He was a great cat... I wish he was still here." Even to her own ears, the words sounded almost hollow, like an empty assurance, but she had no way of proving anything. How could she? [B]"I'm not- I'm not an ambitious cat. I hardly understand why he made me his deputy, but I was happy with just that. I didn't- I didn't want this."

An outsider with some resemblance to Charredpaw... Well, that was something at least? "No, I would have led him away as well," Larkstar agrees, relieved that the problem was seemingly dealt with - for now at least. "Frankly, all these loners at the borders are making me a little jumpy." She tries to joke, mostly so the weight of everything regarding safety and security of the clan that's been weighing heavily on her for the past.... entire time since she was made deputy wasn't as apparent. "I think... maybe it would be best if we close our borders for now... who knows what we might be inviting in..." she trails off, mind thinking back to William and clouding her gaze with worry.

Hollytail sighed. "I- I- I found Pebblefur dead at Windswept Plains . . I brought her body back, but still . . It looked like she had fought with someone . ." Hollytail meowed grimly. He looked at Larkstar, waiting to see how she would respond.

With the kit in her between her maw she had made her way quickly to the leader's den, not paying anyone a mind. Once she was at the entrance of the den she sat Bonekit down but didn't make a move to block their path. The eyes from the kit gave her surety that the kit wouldn't run off. "Larkstar? You here? I have a young child here" she called out to the leader.

with a curious squeak habit scrambled backwards. U-uh y-yes! But it’s a little dusty and worn down..I’ll change the bedding if you’d like? he tilted his head in concentration as he tried to recall how exactly he had seen some of the bigger cats do it. I mean all yo do is just take the old moss out and out new moss in right? It shouldn’t be that hard. green orbs turned towards the she cat once again. O-oh yeah! I’m habit! Big birds adopted! Big bird is the clans herb cat..he smells weird kinda like Toby did!
It was then that habit realized he was rambling on again and dipped his head. Sorry I tend to ramble on forever if cats let me..also what is this place? he looked around the dark den in confusion. Why is there only one bed?

The moment she responded after a pregnant pause, he felt the breath he was holding in forcefully vacated. Making him shakily inhale. As fast as the answer left her maw, his cheeks burned, his eyes stung. It felt like someone was standing on his chest and all of a sudden everything was blurry, and his cheeks and chin were wet. Forcefull hiccups pulse through his body as he did his best to comprehend that the universe just deemed him unable to meet the family he'd set out to find. All that hope, all that buildup, just for it to be ripped away. A quiet confirmation that he wasn't allowed to have what he'd been working for. A butterfly landing would be louder than the silence in the den as the tom silently did his best to hold in his emotions. Did his best not to completley break down and sob. Crying was hard enough.
Until it hit him. Why? Why should he hold it back? Why did he have to be strong when he deserved to be sad, deserved to cry? In that split moment Sunnybunny sat himself down, looking up at Larkstar, his ears drooped, and any sense of composure used to say "I guess it wasn't meant to be." before letting himself sob. Grief for the family he could have had. Mourn what he wasn't allowed to enjoy, and what could have been.
He didn't hear what the molly said, he didn't care. His head was beginning to hurt. His chest hurt, his eyes stung and his fur was getting wet. He'd be cold. It wasn't her chance to mourn, she had her chance, this was his. This was his moment of sorrow and a part of him felt ugly for ignoring her woes. Ugly for acting selfishly, wanting this moment to be his moment, and his moment alone.

Wingkit
Instead of doubling back to the nursery, Wingkit had veered off and poked his head in the medicine den. His jaws had parted to call for his father, but the den was... empty. Confusion wove itself across his features and he backed out. Where was his dad? The caliby shook his head and bounded over to the leader's den, slipping inside without any asking and instead stomping over to where Larkstar was.
"Aunt Larkstar?" he asked with a narrowed gaze, "where is my dad? He's not in his herb den and there's this... odd kit in the clearing who claims to be my "brother". I don't know him so he's definitely lying. Why is he lying? I need to find dad to clear all this up." It was rather a long-winded explanation as the upset tomkit sat his rump down and glowered up at the leader.
