Firestorm tried to block out Scorchedfang’s words, but he was right. There was a good chance that she was making a mistake. She couldn’t help it! She couldn’t kill! Death… was a horrible thing, absolutely terrible, and she couldn’t make herself inflict something so… permanent on another cat – not after the tragic deaths of her clanmates recently.
She couldn’t speak anymore. When Scorchedfang told her not to allow Cowtuft to give him any of the herbs, she just gave a stiff nod and led the way back to the camp – being sure to hang back a little just in case she needed to support his weight (though she’d likely get crushed). What was supposed to be a fun, distracting adventure, quickly turned to something more sinister.
