laurelwinds loves leafbare, don't get her wrong. she thinks the snow and ice are extraordinary and compliments her pelt very well. however, being pregnant in leafbare? she's not so sure. they find their temper growing shorter day by day. which, they hate, by the way. what do they also hate? how barren everything is!! urgh!

"good stars above..this den is so..boring! this won't do, it won't do.." the mottled feline finds herself pacing around the nursery, shaking their head in disappointment. while they're positive most of the time, today is just not their day. fortunately, she has a solution. earlier, they'd gotten some rocks from the clearing and found a stray feather near the apprentice's den. lucky, right?

with an idea in mind, laurelwinds places the rocks around the nursery in an attempt to decorate the rather dim looking den. once they were done with the rocks, they pick up the feather and place it right in front of their nest. then sit down. phew, things sure were a lot more energy consuming when you were pregnant.

Wispkit was dead.
There was no question about it. grief was settled deep in the molly's belly. Even after a day or two of healing, the pain was so ferocious that Quailheart scarcely wanted to leave the nest. Her only comfort was her remaining kits. Why would StarClan take Wispkit from her?
All she could do was pray her other kits wouldn't catch Wispkit's illness. She laid in her nest, comforted by the rythmetic breathing of her grieving kits, sad at the loss of their littermate.
No. There was no comfort there, only sadness as she layed there, and tried to sleep- tried to not think about Wispkit.
She had to be brave for her remaining kits. @Ravenswings @leopard.

Mistyfalls gazed at the queen in grief. She would have felt the same pain as Quialheart if one of her two kits had died. Hey.. it’s okay.. You gotta act tough for your kits. Just remember that even if Wispkit is dead, she will always be there for you.. In your heart. Mistyfalls walked to them, resting in the nest next to them. I can take her out into the clearing for the clan to mourn if you want? She smiled warmly to Quialheart.

Quailheart blinked warily up at Mistyfalls, and looked down at her kits. Her heart softened, just a little bit. "I think I need to go on a walk," she said quietly. Her eyes were tired but restless. Quailheart hadn't been sleeping very well lately. She stood up slowly, but then looked down at her kits. "I'll only be gone for a little while." she said softly, and trudged out, tail trailing on the ground and heart heavy. Nothing would ever soothe this terrible feeling. She felt another burst of anger toward Mapledusk. Why hadn't he been here for her? Was he as devoted of a mate as he said?
Quailheart wondered if they were even meant to be together. She wondered if they shouldn't be mates after all. Then, she slowly left the clearing and went out of camp.

She followed close behind. Could I come? I promised these 2 furbrains I’d show them some of the territory. Flicking her tail for Ravenkit and Rosemarykit to follow, she stood in front of them, the 2 kits bouncing to her sides.

The kit stared at the opening to the den. She stayed nestled in her nest. Daintykit watched as the others did their own thing, observing them. She didn't interact with other kits much, preferring her mother. The she-kit tucked her paws underneath herself and continued eyeing the other kits and queens.

Okay, so I am mildly cheesed that everyone assumes Wispkit is dead. She was just in a deep faint, and not breathing a lot! Sorry for not making that clear, one and all.

Fawnkit gave a big yawn and clambered out of his nest. He liked being in the nest with Doeripple, but he was beginning to get restless. He wanted a new friend to play with - his littermates were so noisy and never played as warriors with him, always wanting to be the leader or medicine cat. He'd liked playing with Lambkit, but then he'd gone away... so it was time to find a new friend.

He approached another kit, giving them a little bap with his paw. This one was little, just like Silverkit and Lambkit! He liked the little kits - at least when they were rough with him it didn't hurt too much, and they couldn't squash him.
"Hi!" he squeaked, tail up high in the air, "wanna play?"

lilackit trotted into the den with a small branch clasped inside her mouth, wobbling a bit. the branch was adorned with leaves and some surviving flowers she had found, tucked inside the sticking-out bits of the branch.

she carefully tucked it up against the brambles for a little decoration, snow caked on her paws and muzzle. ' hi, daintykit! ' lilac chirped, turning her attention to the cat in her nest. her head and back was gently dusted with snow, clearly from rolling in it playfully.

' why are you sitting alone? ' she warbled distractedly. ' there's so much snow outside! sooo much to play with! ' lilackit nosed the other kit, accidentally brushing some snow off onto her.
