Featherpaw cheered out the new apprentices names, glancing around in the crowd for Acornkit. She didn't want the kit to miss being apprenticed!
"Cloudpaw! Plumpaw!" It felt so strange to cheer her brother's name for someone else. Before long ShadowClan will be cheering his warrior name, she thought a little miserably, and I won't be there to cheer for him. The same went for her as well - when she got her warrior name, the only Cloudpaw to cheer for her would be this new one in ThunderClan.

Maybe I should go say hi? they thought, looking at the brand new apprentice. But then they thought of how their brother might react if someone else called Cloudpaw was hanging out with them at the next gathering, and they let out a sigh. He'd be jealous about any new friends, let alone one with his name! He would just feel like they were replacing him.

Well, she wasn't going to speak to this new Cloudpaw, but she should still make some effort to make friends, no matter how weird she felt about it. She glanced around for an apprentice to say hi to, spotting a calico that looked around her age, maybe a little older. She felt nervous, but she could go her whole apprenticeship only talking to her mentor and her mother.
"Um, hi! I'm Featherpaw, what's your name?" Featherpaw mewed, approaching the tortoiseshell she-cat. She'd seen the other apprentice around camp plenty, but she'd been so busy training that she'd barely had time to look at her denmates, let alone learn their names. "It feels like ages since I had my apprenticeship ceremony. I hope I'll get my warrior ceremony soon!"

Beachkit -

After learning their lesson previously, Beachkit wallowed in the mouth of the nursery where the snow hadn't crept in. They wanted to listen to the meeting (and strained to hear everything ongoing--all they were certain of, was that MORE kits became apprentices before them) but certainly didn't find it worthwhile to traverse the snow patches to try to find a spot where they could sit comfortably.

No, they'd stay here. Their pads were already aching enough from the dry, cold weather. The coolness of snow was tempting to soothe the forming cracks, but not enough to lure them away from a warm den.

Oh stars, I've already scared her... Cherrypaw seemed pretty shy - Featherpaw had probably come on a little strong in her anxiousness to make a good impression. She forced herself to sit down and cut it out with the over-enthusiasm. She could do this without freaking the other apprentice out.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Cherrypaw," they mewed, trying to keep their voice a little less excited. It was tricky - they got loud when they were nervous.
"I like your name. Do you think it'll be us up there receiving our warrior names soon? I've been working super hard on my training, so I bet it won't be long for me." Great, now it sounded like they were bragging... "B-but I haven't made much time to make friends since I've been so busy training. My mentor is really nice though!" And now they were rambling again! And they hadn't kept their voice down for long either...

"Sorry," she mewed, wincing at herself. "I'm a little nervous. I haven't really made a friend before. I used to mostly just hang out with my brother before- uh, before I came to ThunderClan."

Featherpaw's ears pricked up. "Woah, me too! The same lesson and everything - I still have to do climbing as well. Redhawk said she was gonna teach me to do some tree hunting at some point too - squirrels and birds and stuff," she mewed. "Hey, maybe we'll get our warrior names at the same time! Then we would have a little company on our vigils too. Or you might get to be a warrior a little before me, but I bet I won't be far behind!" She was rambling again, but she was excited to talk to another cat her age!

"Who's your mentor? Are they nice to you?" they asked. "Mine's Fernwillow! She's the best, and even though she's nice she doesn't go too easy on me!"

Shockkit was glad she hadn't missed out on this meeting. Sparkkit was sitting in the nursery, the lazy old flea, but she couldn't care less. However, she very much cared that her friend Plumkit was now...Plumpaw. With his miniscule size, it was very surprising to her that he had managed to be apprenticed. And before her! Well, all she knew was that her day was coming, just about a moon or so. And when it did, she would be so happy! But first she needed to congratulate her friend, even though part of her didn't want to. \

She nosed her way through the cheering crowd until she got to the front where she tried to tap her friend with her nose to get his attention. "Good job Plumkit!" she said enthusiastically. "Congrats!" Yes, just get this over with so she could go sulk in the nursery.
