Stupid birds with their stupid warm feathers, so warm in fact that they were shedding them... well, Beachkit would be putting it to good use. They clearly needed it more than the birds.
They peeked up upon feeling Wolfpaw's touch upon their head and blinked. "No!" The protest came immediately. "I don't want to be sick!" Sick kits had to stay inside the den (while NOT becoming an apprentice), or worse, be seen by the medicine cats. Not that being inside of a den actually struck them as unwanted with the temperature being what it was.
They kind of missed having sensation in their legs, too.
"Maybe... I should go put this in my nest." The only downside: that would mean breaking away from the Wolfwarmth. "You can come, if you want!"
"M sure you're not." Beachkit didn't look sick, but that could always be deceiving... Regardless, going into a den seemed like a good idea. They could warm up, maybe take a nappy, and do something once they thawed a bit.
Wolfpaw kept Beachkit close as he shuffled toward the nuesery. "We'll go together, gotta keep cozy somehow!"
"Yes, but now we have more responsibilities, more people looking up to us! apprentices.. kits!... making a mistake would be.. somewhat tragic," he said wearily.

The weather hadn't improved much, 'n Wolfpaw was concerned by the amount of snow piling up on top of the nursery.
He started to swat some of it off, trying to take off the worst of the load - when a familiar creambaby caught his eye. "Hey Beachkit, wanna give me a paw?"

Beachkit -
In a fraction of a moment, Beachkit was at Wolfpaw's side to see what he wanted. Whatever the request, they were game -- it was the rush of being desired enough to recognize and call over, and sure Wolfpaw was their friend (they were pretty sure!) but an element of disbelief accompanied that.
Mainly because it was WOLFPAW. Wolfpaw was so cool! He stood up to evil warriors in meetings! And beat up snakes! Accomplished and bright, and Beachkit admired him right alongside the leader herself.
"Oh, what are we doing?"
They may have been staring at Wolfpaw with starry eyes instead of computing the task. With the sense to be sheepish, they smiled a bit with guilt hiding in the curve of their muzzle. "Sorry..."
Beachbaby bouncing over so quickly wasn't something Wolfpaw anticipated. He thought perhaps the kiddo would've taken a moment.. but no.
In a way, it reminded him of how he handled Bumba-- how he still would, because if she called him he'd always come as fast as possible. But that aside.
"The den has a lotta snow on the top, I'm trying to clear it off so it doesn't make it fall in." He beckoned over to the roof, swiping a clump of snow off. "Pretty easy, but a bit of work for one cat!"
