Cedarfrost buried his vole, still light on his paws as to not alert anyone. He tilted his head leftly, sniffing the air for any more prey. Ah, bingo! A fresh scent came his way, and he dropped into a crouch again, moving towards the scent. His piercing yellow eyes were narrowed in concentration, and a satisfied smile appeared on his maw when a bird came into view. Looked like.. a thrush. He leaped onto it, claws digging into its flesh. Swiftly he gave it a killing bite, picking it up with his maw and burying it next to the vole.

He supposed he’d get one more catch, then return to his patrolmates. Cedarfrost wondered how Tadpolepaw was doing – probably not too bad, because she hadn’t come running to him. Another scent caught his attention, and once again he crouched, getting closer to it. It was.. a lizard! He hadn’t caught one of those in a while. The large grey tomcat got as close as he can, making sure to stay downwind, and.. pounce! He landed right on its neck, holding it down with one of his big front paws as he gave it a killing bite. Satisfied, he dug up his other two catches and returned to his patrolmates.

“C’mon, we’re heading back!” he mewed and started making his way back to RiverClan camp.

Ripplepelt nodded. He could float, so they wouldn't be starting completely from scratch, but they still had quite a bit of work to do. "Let's head out then," she mewed to Firetail, leading the way to Haven Springs. At least the sky looked like it was clearing up.

She wasted no time slipping into the water, letting out a sigh as the warmth soaked into her fur. Getting out would be far less fun, but at least she didn't have to freeze her tail off while she was doing the teaching.
"You said you can stay afloat - why don't we work from there?" She tilted her head for him to come into the water. "Paddling is easy enough - kick your back paws, and move your front like you're digging."

Firetail nodded and followed ripplepelt, the tom looked around as they arrived at haven springs, ripplepelt took nothing to lose and slipped into the water. Her padded up to the water and looked at the steam that was coming off the water, the moment ripplepelt tilted her head was the moment the tom went in with no hesitation, and just as the words of him only knowing how to float came true, he floated like a cork. Supposing he could have named himself corktail since he floated like a cork but firetail seemed to suit him better.

A small sigh escaped him as he enjoyed the feel of warmth, but it was quickly interrupted as ripplepelt began to speak again. It wasn't hard to pick up on ripplepelts words when the molly explained to the young lad. Firetail nodded and began paddling around doing exactly how ripplepelt described"like this?" the lad inquired as he paddled around.

She nodded. "Just like that. Now, to move faster in the water, you'll need to bring your paws up towards the surface of the water, one after the other, then pull them back through the water til they're underneath you. Your back legs are the same - pull them up towards your underbelly, then back behind you. The more force you put into the movement, the faster you'll go. It's not necessary in calm water like this, but if you end up in strong currents, you'll need to be a strong swimmer to survive. If you want to turn, just look in the direction you want to go - you might be used to using your tail for balance, but it won't be much use to you in the water," she explained.

Fadingsun hadn't been one to go out of camp alone too often prior to now, but with everything going on he felt that a trot around the territory would be a good idea. His sister was busy handling patrols at the moment, and if he was being totally honest he wanted a little alone time to think.

A lot of things needed to change in RiverClan, clearly. There were the surface issues, like high ranks crumbling in a moment and blatant, serious issues of disrespect and lack of dedication. Fadingsun trusted Birdsnow to handle those issues; he'd be there to support her along the way, helping to keep his dumbass Clanmates in line.

Not everyone in the Clan was bad, of course. Cats like Cherryswirl, Springpaw, Adderpaw, and Ripplepelt had proven themselves loyal and worthy RiverClan cats. Unfortunately, however, it seemed that the majority of the Clan did not convincingly fall into that category at the moment.

Most cats were content to laze about camp all day, only ever putting the effort into snarky remarks, causing trouble, and being disrespectful. All of the other Clans thought of RiverClan as nothing more than a failing Clan, and while that infuriated and disappointed him he understood. RiverClan had dug a deep hole for itself, and if it wasn't careful that hole would turn into a grave.

Case in point: the scent of RiverClan around Haven Springs was growing quite stale. It was still present, but nobody had been here in some time. The black-and-orange tom took the time to rub his scent on as many markers as he could, hoping that his scent alone would be enough to deter predators and outsiders.

If one of RiverClan's more popular landmarks was in this state, he couldn't imagine the rest of them. Sighing, he padded off into the night on his way to the next landmark.

He slinked away in his own little corner, not wanting to bother any of the nearby cats.

He resisted the urge to sigh. Why did he always separate himself from others? He was lonely, wasn't he?

Being lonely doesn't make you any less of a coward, Sharpfin thought bitterly.

No, he had no right to be bitter. Plus, he'd be okay, he had some things to think about anyways. Perhaps this would be the perfect time to do something beneficial for the clan.

Yeah. Then he'd feel complete, then he'd get a conversation going.

But first, he was going to rest, turn his brain off for a bit.

They grey warrior nearly leaped out of their pelt, his fur shooting up at the ends like a bundle of overgrown reeds.

He whipped his head around to see- an apprentice. Oh, it was Treepaw.

Well, Sharpfin had wanted a conversation, this would certainly give him one!

"Oh, erm, nothing much. Just doing the usual. You?" Sharpfin said, straightening up into a sit as he tried to make his fur lay flat on his skin. "It's a lovely day to be out though, I think this is the most sunlight I've seen since the snow came in."

Sharpfin then realized that he didn't give Treepaw enough time to respond. "Oh, sorry; didn't mean to cut you off or anything." He cheesed a smile.

It caused him to have a bit of burnout, but that was nothing he couldn't handle, because everything was going to be okay, no one else was going to disappear or get hurt, not if Sharpfin had anything to say about it.

If it meant keeping his clan from ruin, he'd do almost anything.

Anything.

Sharpfin began blinking away his thoughts before he responded. "Is the possibility of warm weather getting you giddy? Because I completely understand if so, I'd like to leave this snow behind as much as the next cat."

As pretty as the snow was-- yes, WAS --It was starting become more of an icy pain than anything. To many times had his paws gotten numb while sitting in the clearing or just dozing off and daydreaming.

He didn't really appreciate that.

Plus, the sparkling flakes where slowly getting littered with dirty tracks of passing cats and other animals.

Snow made things look messy. Sharpfin wasn't too fond of messy.

Sharpfin's ears perked up in excitement. "Really? Wow, I'm super proud of you actually. Riverclan is in need for strong warriors, hopefully you manage to check all those boxes, hm?"

Sharpfin paused to stretch his freezing paws for a moment, stretching out each of his paw pads.

He gave himself a little shake before continuing, "I wish the best for you Treepaw. Hey, what do you think you'd like your warrior name to be?" Sharpfin grinned with all of his teeth.

"I personally always wanted to be 'Sharpbird' or 'Sharpwisp', but beggars can't be choosers, y'know? Plus, I think Sharpfin fits me a lot better." He rambled on as he swayed back and forth, shifting the weight on his front paws ever so slightly.

"But I'd love to hear a list! I have nothing better to do anyways," Sharpfin shrugged, blinking sunlight out of his blue eyes.
