He had woken up to a flurry of snow to land in his nose. Snow…it had been a while since he had witnessed quite a sight. He always loved it though. Sure, it was cold, but it was some good old fun. He woke and stretched, poking his head out of the warriors den to see the white snowflakes start to cake the ground, making a layer of snow. It wasn’t a rough snow or blizzard or such, just calm little flakes that started making a thicker and thicker layer. He grinned as a flake landed in his nose…actually his pelt had started to look white as it covered him as well. He looked around as to see if any other cats were as amazed and happy by the sight as well. Sure…there were negatives as leaf-bare had approached and starter, but there was also the beauty of it. Then he saw a cat that proved to be more beautiful than the snow and nature itself. His gaze immediately lit up and he padded up to her. WisteriaWren…he playfully batted a pawful of snow at her, careful to not be too rough, but a playful, floppy grin covered his face.




THIS IS THE START OF A GOOD OLD SNOW FIGHT! ANY CAT CAN JOIN BY SIMPLY WITNESSING THIS OR THE LOVEBIRDS/ROWANMANE MAY HAVE ACCIDENTALLY HIT THEM AS WELL!

IT IS MERELY A SOCIAL EVENT FOR THE CLAN! TAKE IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE!

The snow really makes it so Soaringpaw can't camp in the corners of camp anymore. It gets annoying. But she didn't like to stay around in a den with a bunch of cats she had nothing to do with either. Say, how long would it take for snow to start piling up in camp? More importantly, what are the chances of a snowstorm happening? What if she was out of camp for some sort of patrol or training or whatever when that happens? Did the cats in this clan have a special way of handling winter? Is simple curling up in the dens good enough..? How strong were snowstorms to begin with? She doesn't know what it was like too. She hated being inexperienced.

The apprentice took a small peak outside the apprentice's den, trying to make herself no standout. The snow fall isn't too rough yet. She disliked the cold but she also disliked being with a bunch of cats around her age that are either more or less experienced than her. She walked a few steps outside, and the first thing she sees..a warrior..throwing a pawful of snow at another warrior. She knew the she-cat was Wisteriawren but the other cat's name escapes her. Some sort of game or something. She presumes it was just the two being involved (she's about to be wrong but let her believe for a second). She doesn't actually have any friends to throw snow at nor someone to throw snow at her anyway. Soaringpaw can't help but feel like there's better things to do in winter rather than throw snow balls at each other though. But they seem rather....happy...

Duskpaw was not enjoying the cold.
But, she definitely took note of any cat throwing snow at eachother.
She couldn't not do that.
It'd be fun to throw at her sister, too.

Okay, she looks toward a random cat, possibly one closer to her age.
She steps out of the apprentice den and knocks as much snow as she can towards her victim.

The older kit…well…she appeared to be amazed and mesmerized by the white flakes falling. It was the first time she had ever seen snow. Sure, snow meant it was cold as she was shivering but…oh how fun it seemed! She was bouncing around in the cleared when—hmph! Snow thumped into her side. She quickly looked to see a brown-pelted apprentice. “Heyyy!” she whined, whipping as much snow as possible back.

Stonepaw's eyes were barely open as she stared out the apprentice den's, gaze unfocused and deeply tired. Her pelt was wracked by shivers, frozen air seeping into her very soul. Stonepaw had never been this cold in her life, and she was exhausted. Was this the so-called leafbare the warriors talked about? The season so many seemed to dread? Taking in a raspy breath, Stonepaw tried to curl even farther into herself. She just wanted to be warm again...

A sudden gust of wind blew towards her, and Stonepaw squeezed her eyes shut. Even though she began to tremble even harder, the feeling of a feather-light touch to her nose cut through Stonepaw's thoughts- ever so slowly, she opened them again.

The young she-cat's fur was covered in... stars?

Her blue eyes rounded. Tiny specks of pure white were all around her, cold to the touch but sparkling in the light of the day. She looked outside once more, now truly awake, and saw that everything was white. Almost blindingly so, for one who had never seen anything like it before.

Stonepaw shakily got to her paws, making her way outside step after slow step, letting out a soft gasp at the dream-like sight. Was this what the warriors called snow? The frozen, fluffy white crunched under her paws as she walked. The pieces that were still in her fur, she could see, really were shaped like twinkling stars.

Stonepaw's joints still ached in pain, but the sight of leafbare's first snow made her almost feel light again. She was startled by the sight of one of Riverclan's Lionhearts, Rowanmane, throwing some of the "snow" at Wisteriawren- but it didn't seem mean at all, somehow. He actually looked so happy doing so that it almost made her giggle. They must be good friends.

Another apprentice was standing in the den entrance, an older gray and white she-cat. "H-Hi..." Stonepaw greeted, voice weaker than usual. And a little squeakier too, probably because it was her first time speaking that day. "The snow is really pretty, huh...?"

More cats joining this snow fight. An apprentice and a kit. Was this...something that happens a lot? Something cats do for fun? As in, it never creates any problems or hinders anyone? No one seems to have a problem with it yet; she thinks it seems rather annoying to just be walking around and suddenly you get hit by a flying snow ball. Soaringpaw moved her eyes from the snow around her to the other apprentice standing near her. Ah, conversing with a stranger. Something she dreaded. But running away would only make her seem weak and cowardice. this other cat didn't seem too strong at the moment; she exactly wouldn't say that out loud at the moment and kept her face neutral like any other moment in this clan. She seemed less annoying than that Smolderpaw Soaringpaw had her lesson with. That damn guy. The mention of snow being pretty made her turn her head back towards the snow around them for a moment. And some were already starting to fall on her own fur. Soaringpaw could see the reason why some might think it's pretty and while the appeal was there, she knew this was most likely only the beginning of a harsher winter soon. "that's subjective but..I suppose I can see the appeal" short and simple. What is and isn't pretty really is a subjective thought. She had her own subjective thoughts, like whether or not she'd count as a weak cat. She wasn't expecting much of a response, though. But the beauty in snow would only last for however long the calmness of it lasts; a freezing blizzard wouldn't look pretty. Common sense

Kind to think of it, the apprentice looked fairly similar to her. Could just be the grey fur blue eyes. Then again, there's a lot of grey furred blue eyed cats in Riverclan...it was probably that there was just a lot of cats in the clan. Yea..if there's ever a murderer on the loose...she's probably less likely to be targetted to from the amount of cats here. She could only wish that an outsider joining the clan like her wouldn't have any cats with distaste aimed towards them. She doesn't have much enemies in riverclan. On the topic of not having any enemies though, she didn't exactly have friends either. So she...really was as neutral as her expression. Soaringpaw still remembered her mentor's comment about her finding something to fight for. She hated that actually.. She couldn't tell why she was thinking about it now of all times. She just had to put up a neutral facade and just move on with it. Her thoughts are always louder than her mouth, clearly.

At first, she didn't even think about the fact that snow may be thrown back at her as retaliation.
Until it had been.

It hit her right in the face.

Duskpaw shook it off quickly and grinned as she threw more back at Turtlekit.

Wildfoxglove never had seen snow before. She was born in the late winter/early spring. Her paws soon felt cold and she jumped high into the air, landing into a big pile of snow. Wildfoxglove shrieked out of surprise.
