Fernwhisper chanted along with the rest of the cats. When she heard about Spring Fernwhisper wasn't very surprised to hear that Spring is dead, you don't need to be a medicine cat to see that Spring was in a terrible condition.
---
Oakkit had been listening in to the meeting as background noise, her attention being divided between the other kits and the meeting itself, but now that the kit situation was somewhat sorted, Oakkit finally started listening to the meeting more attentively. Cats getting promoted, name chanting - which Oakkit didn't engage in as the matter with Rosekit still wasn't sorted out and she didn't want to completely forget the unusual situation of trying to drag another kitten to the nursery.
But what caught Oakkits attention weren't the promotions or exiles, but the deaths. Not those from the illness, she'd heard about the sickness and had gotten the gist of it, cats who have it get sent to another camp and some of them die.
What interested her the most involved only one cat, Spring. The name, why was it so simple? Only one word, spring, jumping. Oakkit had not heard or seen a cat who had such a simple name, well maybe as a nickname, but not in a meeting! Next thing not buried on Thunderclan land? Can they even do that? Why? Doesn't deserve it, after all that's happened. What does that mean! What happened? It doesn't explain anything!
Oakkit heard only snippets of Wolfhawks ceremony and she had pushed Rosekits situation to a corner of her mind, her thoughts were racing from the fixation and confusion from those few sentences talking about ''Spring''. What else was there in those sentences? Complications from pregnancy... Pregnancy? Wait. Did Bumblestar look to the nursery? Who are Springs kits? Who is Spring?
By this point Oakkit had just been staring to approximately where the Stormcrest is, zoned out.
From the mouth of the nursery, Drizzlecloud’s ear twitched. A soft murmur in her ear spoke of Wolfpaw’s full name, and she couldn’t help but tilt her head. She wondered if the young tom had a proper ceremony with the stars or not–but that would probably be difficult given his lack of a proper mentor. The name Wolfhawk was whispered into her ear by figures unseen by the mere eye, and a soft trill escaped the back of her throat.
“Wolfhawk!” She cheered from the mouth of the nursery jovially.

Smokefang, the double faced ThunderClan Warrior
He/Him
Smokefang silently yawned. Well, they had a new med cat. Very well. Good news. Hooray.
But he was getting a little bored in his corner, and for him, beeing bored was kind of a bad thing. He slowly rolled his eyes and sighed, scraping his paw against the ground several times.
Could he leave? Or could he not? Better if he didn't, wasn't good for his image if he was seen. Anyway. He just yawned a little, feigning tiredness, before shouting alongside the others.
"Wolfhawk! Wolfhawk!"

Flowerhawk was slightly taken aback by Spiderlingpaw’s response, but she liked the apprentice immediately. “Yes, ma’am!” Flowerhawk answered jokingly. “You’ll be nothing but the best!”
Despite her joking, she was rather nervous. She was mentoring the deputy’s daughter. The deputy’s. Should that make her nervous? Other cats were mentoring Spiderthroat’s other kits, and none of them were nervous, probably. But if she messed up, would there be consequences? Probably no worse than messing up in any other way, she assured herself. Plus, Spiderlingpaw’s enthusiasm to be the best, or at least better than her siblings, should make her easy to train.
Oh, she still had a question to ask. “By the way, do you know Sagepaw well? We might train with her and her mentor sometime.”

[ 6 moons | She / Her | Thc Apprentice ]
Hm, she liked this one, Spiderlingpaw decided. She was smart enough to know how important her training was! By this point the newly named apprenticed sported a smug smile.
Oh. Flowerhawk was talking to her. She cracked open her eyes to focus them on the older cat, ears erect to listen as she asked about some apprentice. Spiderlingpaw's face contorted, grin turning thoughtful. "I dunno 'bout a Sagepaw. But I bet I'll beat them to being a warrior."
Yes indeed. She sat again, head raised high, paw placed up against her chest as she gave her bolt declaration. "I'll be ThunderClan's youngest warrior!"
Internally she grimaced, being well aware that was a difficult feat to achieve, but the apprentice had to keep up her façade of confidence and virtue. Besides, if she didn't manifest it, then she wouldn't get it!

❀ Flowerhawk ❀
Flowerhawk relaxed. She and Spiderlingpaw were going to get along just fine, no doubt about it. Flowerhawk had similar ambitions as a ‘paw, and while she didn’t achieve them, maybe she could help her apprentice do better. “You absolutely will,” she grinned with certainty. “Y’know, I’ve never trained an apprentice that didn’t become ThunderClan’s best—and youngest—warrior!” A fact that was, in a way, true, never mind that she had never trained an apprentice. Plus, if she’d never done it before, who could say that she couldn’t? Spiderlingpaw was going to become the best warrior ThunderClan had ever seen, and Flowerhawk would do everything in her power to get her there. This was going to be awesome.
Five days since the cure had arrived mere hours too late.
Five days since Wolfhive's burial, which Bumblestar both tried desperately to ingrain into and purge from her memory.
Five days since she had locked herself in her den, speaking only to Violetfreckle when her mate had come to check on her.
Her sense of responsibility battled with overwhelming grief as she hauled herself out of her den in time with the setting sun. Her eyes were glassy and exhausted, her fur unkempt, tail dragging through the snow behind her - she was the exact opposite of how she usually presented herself as.
It took her a moment of standing beneath the Stormcrest and staring to decide to finally go through with it. The Clan needed to know it was over, that the cure had made it if they hadn't figured it out already with the return of the sick from Sunkissed Creek. They needed to know who had passed as well. She'd covered some of them at the last meeting, but as reported by... by someone (she couldn't pull the memory through the fog in her head), there were more. So many more.
Slowly, she clawed her way to the top of the Stormcrest, trying to stand tall despite the shaking in her legs. Her first attempt at her usual call cracked and died in her throat, so she cleared it to try again. "ThunderClan, gather up."
--- IMPORTANT OOC NOTES ---
As per THIS POST, any characters who have consumed the cure are free to post in this meeting as well as other ThunderClan threads as non-contagious and displaying waning (but still present) symptoms.
If your character was NOT present in the sick camp for Wolfhive's death, THEY SHOULD NOT KNOW unless they have been told IC by someone who WAS present!! No meta-gaming please.
If you had a character who died to the illness and who's death has not been announced, use the death announcement form, link the post your character died in, and ping me so that their death can be announced this meeting. If I missed it while searching and you don't notify me, or it was not roleplayed out when the sickness was active, it will not be announced.
Bumblestar is currently highly emotionally volatile - any characters who cause issues during this meeting and following it are at high risk of being exiled without the chance of facing lesser consequences.
Any questions you have regarding ThunderClan, whether for characters or rejoinings or plots or otherwise, should be forwarded to Starfall, Beaan, or Neptune. Please do not contact me - you will be redirected.
Mothflame, Milkbee, Firebloom, Horizonpaw, and Hiddenpaw padded up, all sitting in various spots. Snakekit again watched from the entrance of the Nursery, not daring to take a step closer
