Snakekit hesitantly padded up as he watched other kits do so, form unusually tense and eyes darting around nervously. He makes a face as Softdaisy grooms him, but it isn't all that ill-mannered. With a huff, he straightens up, feeling a lot less nervous and out-of-place. He's been in ThunderClan for a little over a moon now, he should be used to this!

Sunflowerpaw was settled down by the camp entrance, listening to the reassignments be made and the kits’ names called to be made apprentices. Her amber eyes narrowed against the gray light that the day provided, her ears twitching. The golden-and-cream apprentice wrapped her feathery tail around her paws.

Blackbird glanced at the highrock. He finally started listening, though he found it very unlikely he’d end up taking an apprentice. He had one; Perhaps that was enough. One apprentice felt like enough. But then you’d be able to show your worthy by training two apprentices! Maybe Flowerhawk will notice me. Immediately, his pelt burned up. Why was he thinking about Flowerhawk? This was a meeting. Shaking his head, he focus this time, listening to every word that came from the leader after the thought.

Did they think she looked weak? She straightened her back and rolled her shoulders. "...Autumnsong 'n Fernwhisper."

"Ceremonies... Cricketkit, Emberkit, Spiderkit, Mantiskit, Quackkit, Fawnkit, Hailkit, Snakekit, Floodkit, come on up." She'd stay on top of the rock like always so she could avoid looking at any of them too close, or letting them get a closer look at her.

AutumnSong perked as she heard her name, was that really true? Did she hear that right? Was she getting a reassigned apprentice? There was no way!
AutumnSong couldn't help but feel a bit of joy, yet also nervousness with this. She had never apprenticed anycat before, so would she even do well?
She could only hope and try her best. She was about to teach BeetlePaw all that she's ever known!
AutumnSong glanced at her apprentice, a warm and welcoming glare in her eyes.
I'll take an apprentice anyday! I promise I will do well.

Late! He's late! Lynxkit hurries out of the nursery, barely taking the time to clean his messy fur as he squeezes past his Clanmates. Last time he missed his ceremony because he was dumb and got scared, but this time he's not going to! At least, he hopes Bumblestar will still let him become an apprentice if she sees him down there, but he doesn't join the other kits just in case.

Treetiger was present but hiding in the back of the crowd. She sat silently, watching and studying the way Bumblestar had let herself go. Grief was quite a thing, wasn't it? Who was she to judge though? Having attained a forever friend due to her own griefs and insecurities. The Bengal would let her eyes drift towards the kittens that were racing to the front of the crowd. More apprentices to-be, hm? Would Bumblestar finally assign her one? That would be the day, wouldn't it? Another cat for Treetiger to chase off or accidentally kill. No one knew about those incidents though.

So, the she-cat continued to sit quietly, brain churning with thoughts, but no expression except slight discomfort on her face.

Lynxkit. She'd forgotten about him. She blamed the fog, and acknowledged him with a mere glance and nothing else.

"While you finish up your training, you'll be Quackpaw, Mantispaw, Spiderpaw, Cricketpaw, Floodpaw, Hailpaw, Emberpaw, Snakepaw, 'n Lynxpaw. Fawnkit, there's already a Fawnpaw, so you're Doepaw.

"Cricketpaw, you're with Blackbirdwing. Emberpaw, with Acornfall. Spiderpaw, with Milkbee. Mantispaw, Mothflame. Quackkit, Brackenclaw. Doepaw, Midnightrose. Hailpaw, Mountaintalon. Snakepaw, Dragonflycliff. Floodpaw, Risingstorm. Lynxpaw, Sparrowpelt."

Bumblestar's world felt unsteady. She dug her claws into the rock and tried to cling to reality, just long enough to get through the next bout of ceremonies. But when her eyes found Wolfhive's apprentices, their names died in her throat. They deserved to move on just as much as the others did, but looking them in the eyes...

She decided to be selfish and tore her gaze away. Later, when she could meet their gaze without her lungs constricting. Not now

It was impossible to keep her words stable as she continued. "I'm... sure by now you've noticed that Brackenclaw 'n Raggedear are back, 'n the cats from Sunkissed Creek have returned to camp. The plague's over. They lost Lavendersong on the journey, but she could still be alive somewhere, and... it's over." She swallowed. Her heart hurt. "We're- we're not without losses. Honeykit, Grousekit, Cinderkit; Poppypaw, Elkpaw, Goldenpaw, Bravepaw, Beachpaw-" The apprentice's limp body curled close to Wolfhive's flashed behind her eyes, and the world tilted. "Littlerose, Redhawk-" Her vision swam. "Wol..."

Her tongue wouldn't form the name. Suddenly she couldn't feel her legs, couldn't look at her Clan, couldn't breathe. With spiked fur and flattened ears, Bumblestar tilted precariously on the Stormcrest's edge.

She knew something was up the moment Bumblestar started the meeting, and this further proved it. Mothflame instantly bolted to the Stormcrest, body positioned to catch Bumblestar when she fell.
