Frostpaw was walking out of the apprentice den, just having woken up. He looked at the clear sky and smiled. He loved the feel of the cold and the snow under his paws. He was like a ball of sunshine. He looked around the camp, scouting potential friends. That’s when his gaze finally set upon a certain apprentice. They had this look to them and he was intrigued by them. They were like the total opposite of him, or at least, that’s what they look like. He walked over to the cat. “Hello! I’m Frostpaw!” He said rather cheerfully, a bright smile on his face.

Magpiepaw looked up from their laying position. Who..? Oh. Frostpaw. Magpie's eyes searched Frostpaw's face to memorize the expression. Was he.. happy? To see.. me? The apprentice shook their head and offered a smile back. Though, it looked awkward. Almost like they've never smiled before.

"I'm Magpiepaw. You can call me Magpie or Maggie, if you'd like. I guess." They didn't know what to make of the other apprentice. Cheerful. TOO cheerful in fact. Were they okay? Did some kind of new plague hit the clan? Maggie sat up, curling their tail around them. Their feet were cold. Oh the horrible wonders of leaf-bare. They forgot to say the line! Oh gosh! "Oh. Uhm. It's nice.. to talk to you." Magpie's facial expression showed a small hint of happiness.

Magpie panicked, their mouth agape as they blubbered, "Oh- uhm! Yes, I do mean what I said.. It's just kind of hard for me to make friends, so I appreciate the company when I get it." They looked a little anxious. No new friend! Don't leave! Maggie did NOT want this cat to leave them. It was hard enough, not understanding emotions very well. It was harder trying to portray them.

Magpiepaw

"You're not forcing me at all! I'm just.. bad at smiling." Maggie shuffled their paws as they tried to figure out what to say next. They.. didn't exactly know what to say next. Not at all. But hey, they were figuring it out. "Oh um.. Do you like decorating your nest? If so, what's your favorite decoration? Mine are feathers. They can be.. really pretty sometimes." The one thing that didn't make them feel gross. Bird feathers. Magpie loved them. Especially the colorful ones, how they shimmer and shine.

Dragonflycliff was puzzled and you could see it in her right eye. Not her left. She had that stupid fish to blame all those moons ago for her left eye.

She frowned at the scar thing. Turning to face Ashpaw directly, she looked at their muzzle. One scar, right there. "If I ever meet this "Quayzar" guy, I'll rip them to shreds, ya hear me? " she growled.

Echobarley flinched at the sudden anger radiating from his left. Dragonflycliff was being annoyed at this.. Quasar? thing. Whatever it was it had hurt an apprentice. And his apprentice at that. He stopped darting his eyes around and looked fearfully at the sky for a bit. Maybe expecting this thing to come out and fight.
But he didn't think he could see it at the least, so he stopped and gave a worried glance in Ashpaw's direction. "Interesting. Sure, what are ya gonna do?" he beamed, trying to hide some sort of fear.

Frostpaw thought for a moment, he had never thought to decorate his moss bed. “I never thought to decorate it. I’m a pretty basic cat.” He chuckled awkwardly, he felt embarrassed for being so plain. His ears perked up at the sound of Magpiepaw sharing their interests, he smiled. “Oh feathers? How come?” He was very intrigued to hear their explanation.

Mountaintalon crashed back into the clearing and skidded to a halt, fur bushed and eyes wild. "My daughter- the river- she slipped, I couldn't get to her in time, I- I need to find her!"
