Lightningpaw followed behind her mentor and didn't say much. It really wasn't worth talking to Spiderthroat for probably the next two years maybe. Yeah then things will be smooth going.
As the tabby walked back into camp, a tiredness settled in her eyes. StarClan above, sleeping was becoming more of a hinderence than a help these days. Her paws dragged a bit as she reached Hollowpaw and dropped her 4 thyme leaves. She then looked up at the apprentice. "Peachpaw's got 4 more comin' and Minkpelt... well, she might have some. I'm sure she'll show up."
Another day, another patrol. And she was glad they were done, the apprentices' yapping was quickly growing from mildly to moderately irritating. Violetfreckle followed Risingstorm and co back to camp and quickly found Spiderthroat. "Border was fine. Everyone showed up." Short, blunt, and gruff. "No prey. Probably scurried off when it heard all of us coming." She waited for a moment in case the deputy needed anything. If not, she'd make her way to the leader's den to just... sit. For a bit.
Eugh. Looked like they were going back to camp, and Fernwhisper was bringing that weird creature with them. She didn't know why - she thought they should leave it out by the border - OR kick it into RiverClan. Those weirdos would probably like it. The 'paw trotted along behind the other two, honestly pretty excited to get away from this place.
They entered the camp, and she was overjoyed to see they were reporting to Spiderthroat. He'd know what to do with that weird thing. Fernwhisper was calling it a fish? She was pretty sure she'd heard cats call RiverClan themselves fish - was that their namesake? "Dad!!!!" she came bounding up to him, "yeah - that weird nasty freaky thing fell right from the sky! The - uh - the fish?" She stuck her tongue out, "it fell on my face! I think we should get rid of it, it smells." The apprentice wrinkled her nose, prodding the fish with one paw.
As the patrols start to trickle back into camp, some arriving later than he'd expected though not enough to really bother him, Hollowpaw straightens his posture in preparation to get whatever they'd managed to bring back in.

Right, patrol done! And they'd found lots of berries so hopefully that'd help someone. And Mudhound had a branch, that too.
It probably looked stupid, the tripod trotting back into camp dragging a massive branch of juniper with berries and leaves and everything they'd physically chewed off a tree but it was a very Mudhound action so why would anyone expect different.
Dropping it and their berries at the medicine cat apprentices paws the report was quick. "All went well. Brindlepaw and Milkbee got five berries each and I got three plus whatevers on that branch, thought you might use it for something, smells good too." All told a successful patrol.
Following the (rather silly looking) Mudhound back into camp (not that he would ever question the hornet, they surely knew what they were doing after all this time. Being Bumblestar's sibling and all, and old and all that. Old cats should know what they were doing, better than Brindlepaw at least. He had his three berries I, uh, actually only got three. he mumbled after dropping his load, in response to the patrol leader's overstatement. He hadn't been so successful. Once again, he was the one holding the group back. Of course he was. He.....could have predicted that, quite honestly. He was always the one hanging behind, didn't matter. He was....used to it, sadly. @Rani @Neptune. @Star
13 juniper plus the nebulous number still attached to that branch? Well, that works just fine for Hollowpaw. Though, he's not looking forward to awkwardly dragging a branch longer than he is into the medicine den (he's exaggerating, it's not that long, but definitely long enough to be annoying.) Maybe he can make Mudhound bring it instead since they've already gotten used to carrying the dumb thing.
"You can bring the branch into the den, I'll take the rest in when the other patrols get back." He directs the hornet, the thank you he almost said swallowed down. Why should he thank cats for doing their job? Now, all he has to wait for is Milkbee to show up...
[ @/Star - just a quick post w/ milkbee showing up will do !! it can be as short as a sentence i could not care less LOL ]

The young warrior was not the patrol lead - and thank the heavens for that - but truthfully... he had lost sight of Sugarbird. He wasn't worried about the she-cat. She was a grown warrior, and had technically been in charge of him and his apprentice. As far as he was concerned, losing track of her was fine as long as he was on time. It wasn't the first time he returned alone from a patrol. In fact, this one was a veritable success by his standards. There was two out of three, seeing as how the paw had stuck around and gathered tons. None of the flowers, but she had more than made up for it and earned a snort of approval from the tom. Hopefully, the older she-cat had simply gotten distracted by a veritable amount of herbs she'd found and was already back with a mouth full of flowers that didn't let her speak much. His own maw full, he was more than happy to use that as an excuse for his own silence and would not fault any cat using the same to spare themselves the horrors of idle chitchat in the slightest.
Twitching his tail to guide Snotzilla along, the tom found Herb in what he assumed was waiting for the plant patrols to come back. Hopefully he wouldn't be in a foul mood and others had found more than him of the originally designated flowers, because his singular, not quite frost damaged goldenrod was probably not going to be lighting up a smile on anybody's face. And yet knowing it would be worse to come back late with the same amount or not come back at all, he dropped his findings before the leaf cat, making sure the sticks did not fall on top of his singular flower, depositing that one over one of the wooden limbs with the utmost care instead. He'd no idea what it was used for, but he assumed it was to keep cats healthy. After the last illness scare, he would rather make sure the little he found was of use until it left his paws and was properly delivered. He wasn't sure Sunpaw would be bouncing back to that cheery disposition with more loss, and much as he would deny it, he would do his best to ensure that did not happen as long as she was under his watch.
"Frozen," he admitted as he looked ruefully at the one good flower he'd been able to find, ears flattened against his skull as he allowed himself to display a modicum of the disappointment he felt.
It wasn't like him to perform so pitifully in a patrol. Yes, he had brought sticks along the flower to make up for the lack of findings, but he had always made a point of excelling. It had started as a way to ensure he was seen as useful and perhaps not killed on the spot at his first mistake. Later on it had morphed into a need to ensure he was The Boulder's number one apprentice. If he did his best, then it would be clear to all The Boulder was the best mentor, therefore the best warrior. Now... well, he'd wanted to perform well before Snotzilla. Have a well handled patrol as their first one sent together. Instead he had a flower and sticks to hand in. What a pitiful display it must be.
Sunpaw Everything comes with conditions + she/her + The collector [active]
The apprentice came hopping after Sprucey, carrying her catch in her maw, doing her best to keep up. She had noticed the lack of the third warrior that was assigned with them, hopefully they were okay. Sunpaw didn't worry too much about them since they were a big adult, they'd survive whatever happened. "Yeah! We found some but it was all like, crispy looking and limp!" she sat the sticks and cobwebs she had gathered to show her paw flopping over. She wondered if she should of nabbed one to show case it to Hollowpaw as visible proof.
With a sigh, he supposes this must mean that Broom was not something able to be gathered in leaf-bare. Annoying, but whatever. It's not like he needs herbs or anything in order to do his job. Curse this stupid weather. Curse it. Was it StarClan who controlled the weather? If it was, he was going to go up there himself and strangle Bravepaw so she could make it all warm again when things grow. It was the least she could do for dying on him. They got the wrong plant, too, this was goldenrod as far as he could tell, but, again, whatever!!
Where the hell was Sweetswan, though? With narrowed eyes, Hollowpaw looks back and forth from apprentice and mentor. "And Sweetswan? She ditch you?"
[ @Beaan - if there's no post of sweetswan showing up by 02/15 she is liable to face ic punishment ]

"Hollowpaw," Carrioncaller announces, returning to camp with the rest of the patrol (probably), herbs in hand. "Couldn't find much, but this is what we got." He places his finds on the ground while he waits.
The apprentice followed along, juggling the ball of moss between their two sticks. Hivepaw glanced over at the other warriors before quickly dropping their things in the pile. "I couldn't find any..." The striped apprentice blanked on the name of the herb. "Any flowers." they finished, shuffling their paws.
Seems the cove was a good spot for plants staying alive if the old fart and Mothflame's finds were anything to go off of. And they supplemented it all with moss, cobwebs and sticks too. Tch, overachievers. Whatever, they did what they were asked to do so whatever. Whatever!!
As the tabby walked back into camp, a tiredness settled in her eyes. StarClan above, sleeping was becoming more of a hinderence than a help these days. So... 8 total thyme plus anything Minkpelt got. Violetfreckle's words didn't exactly make it sound promising that Minkpelt had joined the patrol at all so he's not holding out much hope there.
"This'll do fine," and then, because he can't help himself, Hollowpaw narrows his eyes at the warrior. "You look like you're about to keel over, go take a nap before you're more a liability than a help." If he had any poppy he'd make her eat one just to be sure she slept, but, unfortunately, they don't grow in the snow.

Peachpaw's quick to fork over his own bounty for Hollowpaw, scrubbing his tongue against the roof of his mouth after the fact with a pinched-up look. Herb-gathering patrols are fun on account of the variety, but the worst part is always having to put that stuff in your mouth.
"That's my four. Minkpelt....I don't know. Might need to be checked for a hit head or something." She'd been pretty space-y all day, but Peachpaw can't really bring himself to care. He did his part. Hollowpaw's instructing Violetfreckle to go and rest, which is probably good advice. Peachpaw dips his head and heads off to see if there are any easy camp chores he can pick at.
"The prey ran off when it heard Mantispaw coming." Someone's in his snitchiest possible mood. The statement's out before Peachpaw can really think better of it, which means he has no choice but to coolly double down on it. "And then Cloudedpaw got all miffed when we said so."
And it really doesn't matter, it was just a border patrol, and to really split hairs he was pretty talkative too, but this is the sort of mood that Peachpaw is in and he doesn't know the meaning of backpedaling. So he finishes with his driest glare leveled at his denmates before opting to back off. They're all done, after all, no point in sticking around.

As Peachpaw spoke, a growl rumbled in Cloudedpaw's throat. Yeah? He hissed, flexing his claws. You probably scared it off first with all your loud stomping! He hissed, narrowing his eyes. He stared up innocently at Spiderthroat before shooting a glare at Peachpaw. Surely Spiderthroat wouldn't get mad, right? Mantispaw was his daughter.

As they approached Spiderthroat to report back the patrol, the apprentices were already arguing. Oh, great. With narrowed eyes and a low growl, she turned her gaze to Cloudedpaw and Peachpaw, teeth bared.
"You two, shush. Especially you, Cloudedpaw. You know better than to pick fights with your own Clanmates. Get along, why won'tcha?" She gritted out, before giving Peachpaw a mere side-glance. Sigh. Apprentices these days, always wanting to jab at each other. It was funny, but unimpressively so. With a sigh she turned to Spiderthroat, waiting for some sort of dismissal. Tsk tsk.
