It's snowing.

Peachpaw's not a fan, or so he'd insist to anyone that bothered to listen. Snow is cold and stupid. It chills his feet and makes his coat all wet and his nose gets sore and runny breathing in the cold air...snow is stupid. So while he's sat here watching the snow start to come down, forst in a light dusting and then in earnest flurries, he's not at all thrilled by the sight of it and not even remotely leaning forward, bunching his haunches up, preparing to spring into the air—

So when he jumps up and bats at a pawful of snowflakes? When he does that a few times, tumbling and hopping and swatting? Yeah, if you saw any of that, no you didn't. The act comes to a pause soon anyway when he eats it on the last landing, sprawling forward. Harmless, but embarrassing enough to have him standing up straight and going warm in the face. His peachy coat is powdered and messy, sticking out in chilled tufts, and he quickly abandons all the fun to make himself presentable again.

Cougarpaw’s eyes gleam with mischief, his tail flicking in amusement as he takes a few steps closer to Peachpaw. “Well, well, looks like someone’s not as immune to snow as they thought,” he says with a sly grin, clearly enjoying the sight of Peachpaw covered in powder. “You sure you’re not having the time of your life? Maybe I should start calling you ‘Snowpaw’ instead of Peachpaw.” He lets out a light chuckle, his voice teasing but not unkind. “Don't worry, I won’t tell anyone about your little snow-fight... unless you want me to, of course.”

Peachpaw looks up mid-bath, tongue blepped out as he peers over at Cougarpaw. Eugh. Of course the cat who'd happen to catch his uh...momentary lapse in demeanor...has something smart to say about it. That's just Peachpaw's luck. He puffs out a short sigh, already preparing some way to shoo this guy off—but. Maybe I should start calling you ‘Snowpaw’ instead of Peachpaw.

His chest tightens. Cougarpaw cannot possibly know how poorly Peachpaw is about to react to that joke, and even Peachpaw knows he should just let it slide and laugh along, but he's still not quite over Snowpaw's disappearance—death, she's dead, she has to be—so an easy-to-laugh-off bit of annoyance very quickly becomes something that Peachpaw's growling at: "Do not. Call me that. Don't even joke."

Stars almighty. He hasn't had one good interaction with a denmate in what feels like a thousand moons. Orangepaw, Mantispaw, Cloudedpaw, and now Cougarpaw...he'd fight on the hill that it's not his fault but if the number grows any higher then that might be a pretty tough position to defend. This has an easy fix, though, and even though it's not really one that Peachpaw wants to stoop to, it now feels necessary. He's got to do something before he ends up garnering some kind of reputation for being a sourpuss. Which he so totally isn't. Not even a little bit. Peachpaw, forcing a tight grin, scoops up a pawful of freshly fallen snow and flings it at Cougarpaw.

"Our snow-fight, you mean."

Ghostkit walked out of the clan's nursery, his eyes looking around. It was still pretty early in the morning so not many were awake yet. The kit sat in the middle of the clearing, eyes roaming the clearing until he spotted another kit. Who was this? He squinted his eyes, looking carefully. Birdkit! Even though Ghostkit usually kept to himself, something told him to go say hi. The white fluffball quickly padded over. "Hello," he meows.
