Listening, Pepper felt like it was right to keep quiet. Other cats probably wouldn’t be too pleased seeing a former house cat - kittypet - in camp until they saw her as their own. As she rose to her paws and padded slightly forward, trying to get closer to the front when she nearly tripped over a cat’s paw. “Sorry!” She mewed, ears flattened as she glared up at the warriors face. The Tom must be mad. He can’t be. I said sorry. He’s gotta understand. Pepper thought, though she still trembled, not daring to shift her gaze or move a muscle.

rookfires eyes darted around for canopypaw, it appeared dawnstar had decided to partially indulge him. with needlepaw, he lingered at two apprentices for now. with a quick glance for the horizon, rookfire considered the amount of time he'd have left in this day specifically. he hadnt forgotten about the comments, needlepaw being more than old enough to rank up..it stung, especially since he was her reassignment and a majority of the time she had spent as apprentice out of his reach.
before the former medicine cat could linger on the doubts and low boiling anger for too long, magpiepaw, cinderpaw and willowpaw spoke their promises. he'd be lying if he said he didnt feel a bit excited by cinderpaws confidence, hearing his usually so reserved apprentice take up space audibly..
"MAGPIECOVE! CINDERSPARK! WILLOWWOOD" rookfire contributed to the chanting, perhaps a bit too loud to be taken serious as a big bad mean warrior no one would want to pick a fight with but that wasnt of concern to him at the moment. while neither willowwood nor magpiecove were anything special in particular, spar the double w in willowwood, he couldnt help but wonder if this was cindersparks work which dawnstar had honoured or if dawnstar herself got to the point of granting cinderspark her mothers suffix. no matter.
he barely caught scent of trouble in form of dawnstar calling for turtlepaw, meadowwhisper and silentpaw. trouble, primarily because meadowwhisper had previously been described as lazy and the other two were sort of bunched into one big mess with her. curiosity shielded carefully, rookfire didnt care enough to supress the small smirk passing over his face. sure sure it wasnt good silentpaw might be in trouble and rookfire wasnt necesarrily of the opinion that he didnt deserve being a medicine cat (thought he appeared to be seriously lacking involvement) but it was humouruous in a way. perhaps there was still space for someone to improve his record of fastest demotion.
with his head turned to watch the four previously mentioned cat go their way, he only noticed the unfamiliar kit after tripping over his paw and apologising. the twitch running through his leg came as half a surprise for himself, but it appeared camp put him at ease enough that he didnt immediately smack them out of reflex. singular ear perking up again, he leaned down to the kit, maw slightly agape in order to taste the air. "pepperkit eh?" the tom questioned, skipping over her obvious fear entirely.
Good. Bleedingpaw and Scorpionpaw were alright, even if it did earn her a few gnawing on her paws. It wasn't something she'd throw a fit over, since Mudslide didn't like to be touched herself, but she'd never go as far as nipping. But hey, what was she supposed to expect from a cat who willingly yelled all the time? Nothing was likely out of bounds for her.
Okay, time to leave. Sooner or later, the cats around her would start yelling for the new warriors, noise she didn't have time for. She scurried away from Rookfire and Bleedingpaw (they were by far the loudest), but not fast enough to completely avoid their yowls. Her fur bristled at the sudden sound. Even if she was expecting it, it still startled her, and she had been straight in the line of fire.
Great. Now she was cold, wet, and her ears were ringing. The Enforcer quietly took her place in the warriors den, hoping to dry herself off there. She congratulated the new warriors internally, but she genuinely didn't care much beyond that. New warriors were all fine and dandy, but it wasn't anything she was partially excited about. Plus, she knew them as well as she knew the stars in the sky. Distant and unwelcoming.

Honeysucklepaw ♣ He / Him ♣ Sshadowclan apprentice ♣ 6+ moons
He heard his name being called out, this feeling he felt was new, but he wanted to feel it more. He had to do his best to get his warrior name as early as he possibly could. He looked between his siblings, cheering their names before cheering the other apprentices' names.
Honeysuckle looked towards the apprentices about to become warriors, he hadn't personally met any of them, but was interested none-the-less. He did however, have another task, he had to find his mentor. His tail swayed calmly behind him as he scanned the camp for Blackpine. He'd never heard of the tom, but could figure out generally what he looked like by his name.
He scanned the crowd for a black pelt, there was... a lot more than he thought. He hoped that the tom would notice him looking around and approach, it'd be awkward for him to just start approaching every pure black cat asking if they were his mentor. Honeysucklepaw sighed softly, his tail tip twitching as anxiety began to grow in his stomach.
blackpine, he/him, 41 moons
shadowclan warrior
a large black tom with one emerald green eye.
Blackpine hadn't been standing under the Grimpeak for this meeting. He was moreso listening from the warriors' den- bad manners, yes, but it was still cold out. And he wanted to fluff up his nest anyways. Anything Dawnstar said he missed, he could hear from his clanmates afterwards.
So he wrongly assumed that nothing regarding him would be said, because why would it be? But after a few minutes from the meeting starting, Greenapple peeked her head into the den, glaring at him in a "come here" way.
Of course, Blackpine listened. He dropped what he was doing and padded over, looking at her curiously. "What is it, apple?"
"You. Mentor. To Honeysucklepaw."
Oh no. Well, oh yes, Blackpine was obviously happy to have a new apprentice. But he wasn't out there yet! Blackpine thanked Greenapple with a nose bump to her forehead, before rushing out to the Grimpeak. Honeysucklepaw was gray and white with yellow eyes, the type of fur that was easily findable in a crowd, so this shouldn't be too hard.
Once he spotted the young apprentice, Blackpine appeared from behind him, hopefully not startling Honeysucklepaw too bad. "Hey. So, I'm your mentor now?" He tried sounding relatively serious, but there was a slight purr in his voice. There wasn't use keeping up appearances for too long- though Blackpine felt like he was capable teacher, for the most part, he hoped that Honeysucklepaw would learn to treat him as a friend. He didn't want to be the type of mentor who's apprentices cowed before him.
"If you'd like to start training now, after the meeting we can go out of camp. Or we could wait. Your choice."

After a moment, Foxpaw heard a warrior call his name. That must be Moonmeadow. He squeezed around a few cats (how annoying) to get to the warrior. Sure enough, once the new apprentice had arrived, his mentor introduced herself. I'm happy to meet you? Oh, she must be one with a cheerful personality. Foxpaw frowned. She'd better not expect him to be the same way. "Mhm."
And then she had a question. Did he want to start training right away? Well, Foxpaw didn't want for anything, so he got ready to say yes when she provided another option. Get settled into the new den? That shouldn't take long. Why shouldn't Foxpaw be able to do it later? Besides, why should he care one way or another? And anyway yes or no questions were so much easier. "Training first," he muttered as Moonmeadow touched his forehead with her nose. What a strange tradition, that.
Pepper quit trembling when she realized she wasn’t in trouble. “Y-yes. Pepperkit.” She mewed, her voice still shaky, as she stood straight up, stepping away from his paw before sitting down. “Why do you call their name? Is it a way to say congratulations?” Curiosity glittered in her gaze as she turned back, her fear vanishing like a mist. Maybe she should’ve chanted. That would be respectful. But an uncomfortable feeling stopped her in her tracks before she raised her voice.
“Should I or stay quiet? I don’t want to be.. loud.” It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be loud- it was the crowd around her. It was hard to say she was scared of being surrounded by these warriors after only having twolegs and Jupiter. I miss you, Mama.. She thought suddenly, paws shifting uncomfortably.

Another batch of apprentices. At least she didn't get another one this time; between Bleedingpaw and now Wispypaw (albeit the latter being just about done with training), the Enforcer wasn't sure she'd be able to take on another. Hopefully, this batch of 'paws wouldn't need reassignments either; with tensions as high as they were last Gathering, Briarsplash was keen on getting warriors trained as much as they could. ShadowClan hadn't been in the line of fire, but still... it was better to be the force of nature they always were, prepared and fierce.
She shifted on her paws, watching the warriors-to-be be called, fondly remembering her own warrior ceremony for a moment. She'd been made one late, having joined the Clan around 12 moons or so; but it had been an invigorating moment of pride and accomplishment, knowing what she'd overcome to get here. Briarsplash let herself be sentimental for about... a few seconds, and then schooled her briefly-softened gaze once more. Then she cheered the warriors' names as they were announced, feeling a stab of pride for her Clan.

Yippee!! It was about time they got assigned to a new mentor. None of their previous mentors would DO anything! Sigh. But this time they were assigned to Flytail. Hopefully he was a lot better than the others! They spotted the dark-furred tom and approached him with a happy hop, tail lashing behind them.
"Flytail, right? I'm Eveningpaw! Your new apprentice! Isn't that exciting? I promise I can be reeeeaaaallly good! I reeally hope you're not one of those lazy ones, though... They never train me. But you'll train me, right? RIGHT???" Eveningpaw gazed at Flytail expectantly, eyes shining with excitement.

she wasnt close to any of the cats being called up, but she's heard of a few of em. there's been quite a few new warriors lately. magpiepaw, cinderpaw, and willowpaw. magpiecove, an... oddly pretty name, hazycry doesnt really know magpiecove, but she's sure they likely dont fit in with the rest of them. cinderspark. likely after aunt larkfire. but after her name was changed to "lostspark" rather cruel, to name a cat after what they've lost. willowwood. doesnt roll off the tongue like the others do. she narrowed her cloudy eyes.
dawnstar was rambling about not really trusting willowwood, or something. "magpiecove, cinderspark, willowwood!" she chanted with the rest of clan, reassignments, a new cat, a kittypet? at least it was a kit so the influence of wherever they stayed before would rub off. mourning ruins is no longer off-limits? huh. warriors could go out of camp on their own again.
and then the meeting was dismissed, but dawnstar called out again? oh, just calling cats to her den. turtlepaw, hah, wasnt the apprentice like super old, or something? meadowwhisper, another name that doesnt roll of the tongue. and silentpaw. what did the medic do? didn't matter to her, honestly. she flicked her tail, "go to the apprentices den, sleekpaw, too cold to really do much."
