Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Hollowpaw sits at the edge of the clearing, his tail twitching up and down in slight irritation. He's been.... absent lately. Not physically, but mentally. Maybe everything is finally catching up to him, maybe it's something else entirely, he doesn't know nor does he care enough to really look inward and figure that out, so he ignores it. Instead, a scowl is plastered on his face as he wanders over to the freshkill pile looking for something to eat... only to walk head first right into some poor soul who now gets to be subjected to his misplaced anger.
"Watch it," he snaps, despite it being him who should watch his step. Hypocrite.

nettlepaw
(this takes place a bit after nettle’s interaction with vi!)
Nettlepaw stumbled backwards upon bumping into Hollowpaw. Even if it was his fault, they didn’t want to get in trouble with someone who would be treating their wounds one day. Nettles on a wounded Nettle? Yeah, no. Not their thing.
“Ack-! Oh.. uhm.. sorry, Hollowpaw.” they mewed awkwardly. Nettlepaw looked down at their paws, somewhat towering over the medicine cat apprentice but feeling nervous regardless.

"Okay, thank you for the feedback! That last warrior I practiced with didn't really give me much to work with." Or what they said wasn't as important to actually hunting as the words that Flintclaw shared, she stood up and settled back down in front of him as he took to explaining things again. As he explained, the premise of a hunting patrol was one that Rosekit already had a general understanding of because of its simplicity but the additional details were helpful, especially the tips about over hunting which was sure to be a concern especially in Leafbare.. Though Rosekit was born at the start of Leafbare so she didn't have the other seasons in comparison yet.
"Firefly Cove? You'll have to take me once I get my 'paw name at the next meeting. Then you could give me proper lessons, especially for taking down predators as you seem to have that expertise!" The kitten nodded her head, as though she was asking rather than telling the warrior... while she spoke with others often her social skills were still lined with that kitten-entitlement that came with wanting something. Though in her defense, warriors should be more than happy to help train the youth of the clan. It was the highest honor of a warrior to train apprentices and grow the strength of a clan.
That left only two more patrol types to have a proper explanation of! She prompted the warrior, "I don't have many questions, hunting seems straight forward enough. Though I suppose I was wondering if you use that same hunting crouch for all prey? Anyways, we can move onto herb patrols now."

Flintclaw didn't feel like what he said had been that impressive of an observation. Any warrior should've been able to pick up on the kit's shortcomings in that hunting crouch and pounce. Obviously whoever had taught her the crouch didn't have enough pride to be thorough. Still, he gave the slightest of nods to acknowledge her statement.
Oh, so Bumblestar would be promoting Rosekit soon, then? After everything... Hold on, the rest of what she was saying began to sink in. Flintclaw was torn between his distaste for Rosekit and his obligation to his clan. At no point should he go denying the education of any kit... Sure, he could be snide or malicious, but as long as the lesson was still learned, he owed that much to the thunderclan as well as his own pride.
"Sure..." The word was slow and careful. He had a fairly good feeling that she would come get him and remind him about it later, once she was promoted. Oh, joy. Perhaps he would turn it into a lesson for both Dizzypaw and her. At least, then, his own apprentice would recieve well needed training. "But if you want training on taking down large predators, you'll need basic battle training, first." He informed her.
Just like that, into the next topic... after one more question, of course.
"Yes, and no," Flintclaw replied. "The basic hunting crouch can be used to hunt anything, but in advanced hunting lessons you will learn about modifications to the hunting crouch that are more effective with different prey." Did Flintclaw know advanced hunting techniques? Yes. Was he good at them? No. He kept it fairly standard when he hunted, which explained his lower side of the average catch rate during hunting patrols.
"Herb gathering patrols are not terribly different from hunting patrols," The massive tabby began. "When thunderclan's medicine cats need herbs, they pull together a patrol and show the warriors how to identify the plants they need before sending them to parts of the territory where the plants they want are most prevalent. It's usually two or three different herbs. You gather as much as you can find and carry before regrouping and returning to camp." He paused a moment.
"Some plants are more dangerous than others, but you would be warned ahead of time if something you needed to gather was poisonous." Which always seemed odd to Flintclaw. What kind of medicine cat needed poisonous plants? They were supposed to heal injuries, but he couldn't understand how poisonous plants could possibly help anyone.

Breezekit was minding her own business when she spotted the tired apprentice. Now she looked interesting. Maybe not to any normal cat, but the kit liked to believe she was sharp eyed. Or, at least, just way too curious. The gray rosette she cat padded over to the apprentice, and sat down in front of her. "Why are you tired?"
''I could use a stretch of my legs,'' Silverleopard admitted, padding up to Risingstorm and Beechpaw. ''I have a knack for finding prey, too, so that's a plus.''

Reddove
He, Him\Warrior\23 moons\Thunderclan
"Just believe in myself won't rely on others."
- - -
Reddove had long heard the commotion in the clearing. It upset him to no end. He didn't know the elders personally, and death wasn't exactly something he or anycat could outrun, but to see distress so plain and clear, it made his stomach churn, knowing that he couldn't stop it. He sat idly as cats poured in and out of the clearing, eyes narrowed in focused slits.
The russet warrior clenched his jaw, scowl deepening. He knew that he had to do something to make up for his own shortcomings and what he couldn't prevent
Death was as unnatural as it was natural, a fact he learned to loathe.
"Mantispaw." He called out, lifting himself to his paws. "Come here." He didn't peak inside the apprentice den, he didn't look for her, but he called her name. She'd come if she wanted to, Reddove wouldn't waste his time.

Mantispaw was just sitting in the apprentices den thinking of a 2 certain someone's. She really wanted to see Cloudedpaw and Beechpaw. They were fun. But she had just felt down lately for some reason. Maybe she was missing all of her siblings that went missing. Not even she knew.
But then a faint voice called her name. Her ears perked up as she peaked out of the den. Was it RedDove?
She ran over to her new mentor and smiled. "You called for me?"

Ahah! They were free at last. Honeysucklekit slithered out of the nursery, their little paws silent (not really) against the earth. They were sneaky. Embodiment of stealth, yes yes. The kit slunk across the clearing, their tail lashing above them as they hunted stealthily. The little cream and tan cat waggled their hips before flying forward. They landed on a warriors tail, biting their tail playfully. This was an ATTACK!! They were the most powerful warrior, defeating an enemy!
(Open to the warrior theyre "attacking"!)

Grooming was an important part of Flintclaw's post-meal routine. Mud and blood and pretty much anything that could get stuck under his claws almost always did get stuck under his claws. He paid no mind to the sounds of the others around him, no one was looking for him at this moment. He could hear the rustling of a kit scuttling around behind him, but didn't think twice about it.
The weight on his tail made the massive tabby pause in his grooming and put his paw back down on the ground as he turned his head and looked at the kit that had pounced on his tail. Honeysucklekit hadn't gotten close to penetrating his long fur, instead they seemed to almost disappear in the fluff.
With a flick, his tail danced away and landed another mouseleap in front of them, tip twitching lightly. He was pretty he'd be able to keep this kit entertained for moons by just letting them chase his tail back and forth.

Tumbleclaw stretched, arching his back and flexing all muscles (small they may be) and yawned. Blinking, he looked around before choosing a patch of dirt that fit his liking to go lay in and preferably dose off
