“Wow, cool!” She chirped in agreement before she scooped up the final few pebbles to the pile. “I like birds. They’re cute and remind me of mossballs because of how round and puffy they are.” She nodded with delight. But her eyes widened before she could speak any further and stood still for mere seconds, looking directly onto the floor.
“Wait a sec, there’s something I want to tell you, Shrikekit.” She slowly exclaimed afterwards, but this time she felt a mixture of both excitement and burden. “I heard that I’ll be having an apprentice ceremony soon!” She backed from the pile before sitting right next to Shrikekit. “I’m actually excited, but kinda nervous at the same time. I’ll become the center of attention during the ceremony, and then I’ll be chosen to a new mentor, but…” She hesitated before she could answer. “W-what if I couldn’t play with you and the other kits for longer? Maybe the mentor will be a bad one, and then I have to go through many exhausting days of training, or worse…” She swallowed, as she looked onto her forepaws. “What if I’ll never become a warrior? Or get exiled? I don’t think I deserve both…”
Her thoughts are already getting on her nerves. She emits a deep sigh, hopefully trying to wash her negative thoughts away.

"Yuh-huh! Birds are cool!" She smiled, after throwing another pebble on. Oh - bur Carpkit had something to tell her? Andandand, it seemed serious. She quited down, stopping to listen. But oh - it wasn'r bad news at all! "That's okay! I'll be an apprentice soon, too!" She grinned, "a couple of my siblings are already apprentices but I uh, errr, I didn't go up for my ceremony." She ducked down, hiding her face in her paws, embarrassed. "I got too caught up in excitement, I didn't even relaise I had to walk up there!" She laughed, jumping back up again.
"But, being an apprentice - I'm sure you'll be able to plah with kits still!" She paused - she hadn't played with Coldpaw since, no, but Coldpaw always seemed so serious anyway, so how was that a good way to judge? "And - and, even if you can't play, you can tell everyone super cool stories about your training, and you can teach them some tips and tricks, maybe?!" Hmmm, but a bad mentor? She'd never even considered that! She knew ma would choose a good'un for her, but she couldn't imagine a Windclan cat would make a totally bad mentor. "I don't think we have bad mentors," she shook her head, "not in WindClan - never in WindClan! Maybe in those other weirdo clans, but definitely not here. And - well - I can just tell that you'll make a great apprentice!" She headbutted her fellow kit, "I bet you'll blast right through your training, like a rabbit! And you definitely wouldn't get exiled - if anyone so much as even tried that, I'd stop 'em!" She puffed her chest fluff out, trying to look big and strong despite her tiny-ness.
The calico stalked up to the nursery entrance after sitting outside for a bit. Maybe she hoped something interesting would happen if she was outside long enough? Vixenkit blinked at the large black and white figure blocking her path and...snoring?? Was this cat really asleep in front of the path? The cinnamon and ginger calico tabby prodded the tom with a paw. "Hey, you're in the way!!" she exclaimed with wide eyes.

Starlingkit had been out and about in the area around the nursery looking for any cool rocks he could get his paws on for awhile, and he was starting to get a bit tired. He hadn't found that many pebbles, which was rather disappointing- but it did mean that he would have an easier time bringing what he did find back.
Well... that would normally, have been the case! Unfortunately for the young kit, it appeared that some silly grown-up had decided to sleep right outside of the entrance.
Placing the smooth gray rock he had found to the ground so he'd actually be able to talk, Starlingkit turned to the other kit who also looked to be trying to get back into the nursery.
"Maybe if we both push really hard we can move him!" he exclaims.
Nooooope sorry Vixenkit! Asking will not work Crowtooth is 'totally' asleep and not to be woken by little kitten chirping!
Now Starlingkit had the right kinda idea, though she might need far more then two kittens as, no matter how much the duo would try if they did moving a rather large deputy was not happening.
Further it seemed in his 'sleep' Crowtooth was foiling their efforts as, with a groan the tom rolled in place, still snoring comically and 'accidentally' taking a scoop of snow in a paw as he did! Totally a coincidence, there was just snow everywhere and if in his flip over that snow happened to be tossed right at the kittens... Well it was totally not on purpose.

Massive paws made their way across the clearing towards the corral, having received the news that one of the kits was once again requesting him for a hunting lesson. It was always strange to him, whenever he was asked for. He always seemed to annoy the kits, especially those with less patience. He did not blame them, of course! He was a... difficult cat to deal with. Why, the gentle giant could only be grateful they put up with him as long as they did! And yet surprise had to be placed to the side in favor of education. He might not be his own first choice, but by golly, he would do his best at teaching!
"R-Rookkit! If. You could. Please. Join me. For. A hunting. Lesson," the Maine Coon mix called in a soft voice, shaking his thick neck fur nervously as he paused by the corral's entrance; sky blue eyes searching for gray she-kit that was to be his student for the day.
Ravenflower groaned. This is a bad idea... But she supposed she should see how the younger generation was faring. Sighing, she ducked her head into the nursery. "Hey, kits," she huffed. "I brought you some new moss for your nests. None of the apprentices were up to the task, so who needs a nest cleaning?"
"Dream came up and spray painted her cats on the wall" Sol came up and put some cookies on the ground to munch on. Crane spray painted a rainbow and wrote LGBTQIA+ rights!
Stars blessed! There was actually something to do as a kit and maybe she won't be terribly behind her siblings. The dusky lilac kitten held back a grin with her jaw clenched tight and thanked whoever decided classes for kits was possible. If she'd knew sooner, she would've asked the moment she had returned to WindClan instead of moping around in her self misery. Rookkit's slender figure slinked into view, eyes bright and her head held high.
The large tom in front of her looked a little nervous and his voice was shaky. Nervous? Her mismatched colour eyes narrowed in slight disappointment. But it was still too early to judge and Rookkit knew that. She'll decide how she'd felt about this warrior after the lesson. After all, she was here to learn- to catch up to her siblings.
"I am behind on my apprenticeship and I want you to catch me up to my siblings." Rookkit stated boldly. Her eyes shone brightly with determination as she scanned the tom's face for an answer she wants to hear. "Can you do that for me?"

Snowybreeze blinked as a slender yet apprentice built kit walked towards him. Momentarily he wondered if having his own litter be apprentices now was making him see kits a little older than usual, but that made... no sense to him at all. If anything, apprentices should be looking younger, shouldn't they? His confusion was short lived, thankfully, as Rookkit cut down to the chase, forgoing any introduction - as it was clear he knew who she was after having called her... he just... hadn't expected her to be so old for some reason, by golly - in favor of making her intentions with this lesson clear. She didn't just want basics. She wanted to be on par with her littermates. An understandable sentiment, but one he would not be able to help her in. Not fully... but he could try!
"Hmmm... W-well. I can. Most certainly. Help you. Try. And get. Your hunting. Crouch. Perfected. I don't. Usually. Expect. My students. To aim for. Perfection. As they. Have their. Apprenticeship. To do that. With. Much. Much better. Warriors. To teach them. But. I can't. See why. We cannot. Make. A small. Exception," the gentle giant mewed thoughtfully, massive paw tapping his chin as he spoke.
With a nod, Snowybreeze turned his gaze towards the apprentice, a timid smile light on his features as he tilted his head questioningly. "Shall we. See. What the day. Brings? Perhaps. I can. See if. Some warrior. Can bring us. Live mice. By the end. To make a. Somewhat. More elaborate. Hunting lesson. In the end. Or. We can. Call Leechscar. Once your. Crouch. And basic. Knowledge. Is complete! He is. The advanced. Teacher. And I. Am certain. He will. Have good ideas. On what. To do."

Vinesmoke had been working overtime and well to put it lightly he needed a much needed nap. Padding away from the fresh kill pile he looked around looking for the perfect spot. The sun was out with a care clouds and well he didn’t want to go into the warriors den as he was coated in dirt. Finally his eyes landed near the elders den kit corrals hes the perfect shaded spot for him to rest. He padded over and settled down..hopefully no kits would stalk him or wake him up *wink wink*
