Dandelionmane stretched in their nice warm nest, but knew they couldn't stay there. They had to train Clouded, they owed the poor guy that much at least. He'd been passed off and forgotten by his previous mentor, and admittedly Beechray had been bothering them lately to complete the tom's training.

With a soft but lighthearted sigh, they pushed themself to their paws, a soft smile on their maw. The pure white warrior hummed softly as they exited the warriors' den and made their way to the apprentice den. They poked their head in looking around.

"Cloudedpaw, you in here? I wanna take you out hunting if you're okay with that? We can have a quick snack before training if you'd like to as well" Dandelionmane called out, loud enough to be heard, but not to disturb. The warrior stepped back to wait, staring at the entrance through friendly pale orange eyes.

His ears perked as soon as Dandelion called him. Hunting? Cool! Cloudedpaw got to his paws, swerving sleeping apprentices on his way out the entrance. Yeah, that'd be nice. He murmured, staring into their orange eyes.

They nodded, darting out of camp, expecting him to keep up. Once away from camp they slowed, their gaze carefully scanning the newly warming up territory "So glad the worst part of leaf-bare is over- Don't think I'd have survived much longer in that cold" They laughed as they walked along.

Finally they stopped at a random clearing out in the territory "so, you got any huntin' experience Clouded? It's all good if not- Just gotta know where to start" They said with a laugh and a purr.

Cloudedpaw was a lean, muscular cat by now. An old apprentice, as he saw it as. His long legs were a benefit to him as he ran, keeping up with Dandelionmane. When he stopped, he took a moment to catch his breath before answering. Nah. I've had four mentors. No training. At all. He explained, sighing as he gazed at the warrior. Would they be any different? Beechpaw... Ray said they were great, and he had to trust her.

"Er- what? None? as in- nothing? none? zero? That's fine- but... Shame on them? How could they not want to nurture the minds of the future?" Dandelionmane let out a soft sigh "Stars Cloudedpaw- I promise you I won't let ya down like that" They said, offering him a friendly smile

"As for hunting- It's pretty easy! I'll teach you the basics here in camp then we'll head out-" Dande said with a nod before thinking for a moment

"First off is your crouch, you'll want to get about this low-" They demonstrated the crouch, smiling widely at the tom "Make sure to keep your paws a shoulders' width apart and tail off the ground" They instructed with a nod.

Cloudedpaw was pretty good at following directions, as he had been an apprentice for a while now. Got it. He mewed, dropping down about mid-height, and following Dandelionmane's directions.

"Very good! Next is stalking and pouncing." They said, still in their crouch. The pure white warrior darted forward, though slower so as to demonstrate the stalk for Clouded, their tail off the ground, their steps light. They stopped, turning to look toward
him.

"For your stalk, you gotta keep yourself balanced and your steps light, it can be a bit tough, but not too bad! You're a smart kid!" They said with a soft purr, still crouched.

After a moment of thinking they bunched the muscles in their haunches before leaping forward, landing clumsily on a leaf, but successfully 'catching' it.

"For your pounce all you gotta do is leap forward at whatever you're hunting. Then after that you just deliver the killing bite and thank starclan for the prey's life" Dandelionmane said with a nod and a thoughtful hum before demonstrating the killing bite on their leaf.

The pure white warrior turned their attention back to Cloudedpaw

"Your turn now! find somethin' to pounce on!" They said smiling widely.

Cloudedpaw shook out his pelt, crouching down. He used all the power in his back legs to launch himself forward and land on a piece of bark. Then, he lowered his head, delivering a sharp bite that went through the bark, and his teeth clamped together.

"Perfect! Let's head out!" They called out, padding towards the the camp entrance, waiting for Cloudedpaw before exiting and making their way out to the Thunderglade

"We're going to the Thunderglade, prey is pretty abundant there" They said with a soft hum as they padded along, slowing as they neared the Windclan border.

Their ears perked as they heard a mouse "There's a mouse over there, take everything I've taught you and go catch it" Dande said in a hushed tone so as to not alert the mouse but loud enough for Clouded to hear.

Cloudedpaw crouched down, getting ready to catch the mouse. This wouldn't be his first catch, but possibly his first catch with some technique? [ rolls a 6 ]. Lunging forward, it was a big miss. He missed the mouse by a long shot, and frowned.
