Those sharp teeth digging through eir thick, wooly coat.
Yes, Thornbird knew that feeling, except that it's not as vicious as the kits in the nursery, nor as vicious as the opponents in actual battles.
Anyway. The rosetted enby planted eir claws on the hard ground and vigorously shook eir whole body, trying to make Rookpaw fall off em.
Eir long, matted fur poofed out in the air as ey did this maneuver, making em look even larger than ey actually is.
Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 6 moons
When her mentor started to shake her off, Rookpaw just wanted to dig her claws into ey. To hold on, because stars- was she supposed to just let go? That's practically quitting and quitting was for loser or what not. So the question was; to use her claws or not? And the obvious answer was no. It was a practice spar and she was going to win this with what she knows. Fair and square.
The slender kitten got launched off the back of mentor, sending her tumbling into the bushes of tall grass. Her paw ached under the pressure of her reckless landing as she twist herself into battle once more. Rookpaw growled, whipping her tail sharply and shaking off any aching pains from her uneven landing. Her mismatched eyes narrowed, cold and still, staring at her mentor. Without a second notice, the dusky lilac apprentice dashed off again, towards mentor.

Thornbird. Ey/em - WindClan - Warrior.
No time to think. Thornbird got into a defensive stance, paws firm in the ground, muscles tensed and ready for anything.
This might be a mock-battle and not a life-or-death situation, but the instinct runs deep in em.
Back slightly arched, ready to fight or flee, but ultimately ey choose the later. [D20 Roll = 9 - Fail!] The warrior's massive frame. That held em back from being nimble enough to dodge Rookpaw succesfully.
[You may cause minor injuries to Thorn, but no permanent wounds, pls.]

Squirrelpaw
WindClan Apprentice ⯎ She/Her ⯎ 7+ moons "Is there really no one like me?"

Hey! Squirrelpaw exclaimed, giggling. No fair! I wasn't ready! She crowed, chasing after Rookpaw. She was pretty fast, Dreamheart had even said so. Just... Bad endurance. That was it. She began to gain on the other apprentice, a smile spreading across her maw.

Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 7 moons
As soon as she tagged Squirrelpaw, the slender she-cat made a sharp turn and bolt it out of the area as fast as she could. She could hear the other apprentice yelling, but couldn't make up whatever she said. It was a happy yell, that's for sure. As long as it made up for the blunt attitude Rookpaw had before, then a wild chase around the clearing like madmen would be worth it. How very unlike her, yet somewhere underneath it all- it felt...freeing. The dusky lilac apprentice took giant leaps and bounds, with her thin claw gripping into the soft lush greens of the clearing. The cold wind rushed past her fur, pressing onto her as she tried to propel herself forward. Faster. Yet the apprentice she thought she had left in the dust started to gain onto her.
She'd made the faulty mistake of peaking back with her mismatched eyes, only to find Squirrelpaw right at her tail. Star!? Already?

Squirrelpaw gasped for breath, beginning to slow down. But she kept running, doing her best to keep on Rookpaw's tail. I'm gonna get you! She hissed, though it was a playful hiss.

| Gnawingpaw | 7 Moons - WindClan Apprentice
Lyrebird's Lullaby - Inactive | Well Insulated - Active | Bilingual [T1] - Active
The large apprentice was sunning herself in the newleaf light, bored out of her mind. She hadn't realized how much of her time had been spent either taking care of Seeds, training, or being around Ber. Now that Ber had all but kicked her out of the family and Seeds was missing, all Gnawingpaw had was training... but that was apparently not something she could do all day. Her uncle had to train her brother as well, which like... fair. Obviously she was more important, but she wouldn't respect the fury if he wasn't trying to ensure the rockhead would be a worthy warrior when he grew up as well. And did he need that extra training, what with him and Jaggs being right morons and all.
Sitting up, unable to stay down any longer, the Maine Coon mix's trail of thought was interrupted by someone... bumping into her? What? Was some idiot trying to walk all over her now?! It was with furious, blazing, pale green eyes that she glared at the culprit, uncaring as she noticed it was another one of the apprentices. One of the leader's kits, wasn't she? Rainpaw? No... that was the bossy, insufferable one... or so she'd heard. Peachpaw? Nope. That one was trained by her dad. Coldpaw? Yeah... that. Should be Lostpaw, obvs, because like... how did you get lost in camp? Ugh. La-a-ame.
"That sounds like a you problem," the apprentice stated bluntly, an unimpressed stare on her face as she pointedly turned around, bored of this lesser paw already.
@Estelle [Coldpaw]
| No worries! Evidently it took me almost a month to get to this one in turn. Super sorry about that. |
