A crouch? Sting could’ve laughed aloud at the sheer ease of the task. But he didn’t.

”Finally, some real training…” Sting purred, padding up beside… the other apprentice… and resisting the urge to wrinkle his nose at the underlying scent of damp fur. That was… odd.

He examined carefully what Risingstorm had done, and did his best to mimic it, dropping down into a crouch.

He mimicked it almost exactly, though his tail bobbed downwards slightly as he dropped into the move, and he hastily raised it in hopes that Risingstorm and his co-apprentice didn’t catch his terrible mistake.

“This it?” Sting asked, side-eyeing the other apprentice- Soggy was his name now, Sting decided- and noting, with a small, wicked sense of superiority, that Soggy was splayed a little too much.

Still best in show, He grinned inwardly, the expression never crossing his actual face. To Risingstorm and Soggy, Sting looked focused and ready to learn.

Risngstorm smiled at his apprentices Not bad, not bad he meowed moving over to drizzlepaw first as he looked at the fairly okay stance, but his legs were a bit far apart Okay drizzlepaw, try to keep your legs more inwards and not splayed out, otherwise your form is good he told gently adjusting drizzlepaws stance with his paw before moving over to stingpaw.

Stingpaw had done better then drizzlepaw he wasnt gonna lie, but his tail was a bit too high and it did bob slightly. Risingstorm gave a small nod to stingpaw make sure your tail stays low and dosent bob okay? he meowed before moving on to the next thing with boh your hunting crouches adjusted, I think we can move on now. he said dropping into his own crouch i want both of you to try to move forward like so risingstorm staked forward being light on his paws low, steady, and light o your feet he told them before sitting back up your turn and now he waited.

Acornfall purred loudly in response, giving the young cat a gentle and friendly bump with his shoulder. "Perfect!" He purred. "Now let's get those herbs! Comfrey and dandelion, alright?" He mewed, looking around for Wolfhawk, the patrol leader. Had they moved along too quickly? I hope he didn't fall or something... But he couldn't go back for Wolfhawk and abandon the patrol, not to mention he didn't think the young medic would appreciate being treated like he was incapable. So he gave Embs a nod. "Stay close okay, kid?" He mewed, flicking his tail to signal for him to start his search.

Here! He noticed some purple flower and upon further inspection, they looked like the plan Hollowpaw had described. "Hey! Embs!" He called, waving his tail to get the -paws' attention. "Here's a good bit o' comfrey!" He started to carefully dig around the base of the plant. Hollowpaw said he needed roots and leaves. Might as well get the roots. He flicked his tail to summon Emberpaw to his side, no use in wasting the plant. He uprooted the stems attached to the roots he gathered, setting the stems aside from Emberpaw.

"Grab some leaves from these stems of plant, Hollows said he needed both." He instructed, gathering his roots together. Now for the dandelion. Should be easy enough to spot. He carefully lifted his roots, eyes searching the flowers that Hollowpaw had described.

There! Acornfall found another decent growth of dandelion, but he didn't alert Emberpaw to this one. He didn't want to take too much from the same plant, didn't want to risk killing it. He set his comfrey roots down and carefully plucked leaves by nimbly chewing at the base of a couple leaves. This will be good.

Acornfall carefully gathered his roots and leaves with a paw, looking up for Emberpaw. "Hey Emberpaw! How's it going?" He called, checking in on how his apprentice was doing. He kept his senses alert in case Wolfhawk showed up too, he didn't want to return without the medic if he didn't have to...but Hollowpaw needed these herbs too... What a dilemma.

While the others trained, Treetiger was busy tracking and taking down prey. It wasn't long before the new-leaf season revealed its plethora of prey.

A squirrel was first. It wasn't the intention behind her given name, but it fit with the way she moved across the branches after the creature. Just before it could leap away from her, her claws grabbed its tail. Her claws gripped the branch roughly, managing to catch herself before she fell. The squirrel plummeted to just below the branch, attached by claws as she hauled it up quickly to bite the back of its neck. With a crunching noise, the creature fell silent and Treetiger regained her balance on the branch, heaving as she processed her next steps.

Now on the ground with the squirrel buried, the warrior moved a few paces before a bird made its presence known. She got into a crouch, but it was too late. The feathered creature took off before she could react properly.

It worked out seeing how a few more paces away, she found a group of them. Two of the birds were fairly close together. Treetiger could use her larger size to her advantage here. The Bengal crept forward, leaping at the last moment with outstretched paws. She captured both in a hug-like sprawl, stepping on ones wing while snapping the others neck with her jaws. The other bird went quickly, too, and she stood with two of the birds hanging from her jaws.

Treetiger would return to her squirrel, hauling it up over her shoulders so she could carry the birds by their wings. She'd return to where she last saw the training trio and sat waiting for them to either finish or return from their hunts.

Emberpaw followed his mentors words and actions. Woah collecting leaves was harder than it seemed. Emberpaw noticed the comfrey, picking up one piece after watching his mentors meticulous picking. "I got one!" He purred.

Emberpaw stares at the dandelion right after. "Hey Uncle Acorn. Is this stuff bad for cats that can't have pollen? I see some cats sneezing from it" Emberpaw meowed, picking 3 dandelion flowers before returning to the comfrey. There was a little bit left...though the young tom was a bit nervous about taking to much. So he just took one.

Determined to beat Soggy, Sting began to move first. He crept forward.

His steps were a little heavy, and he was more concentrated on making sure his tail didn’t bob as he moved, but it was a good first attempt. He was quiet, at least, and that was what mattered, mostly.

Sting flicked his ear and turned to look expectantly at his mentor. He straightened up,

“Was that good?” Sting asked, seeking his mentor’s approval.

he nodded, creeping forward quietly, glancing back towards his mentor for approval. he mimicked risingstorm, one pawstep after the other.

"once i see prey, what do i do? leap and pin it down?"

he kept his eyes forward, and his blue hues locked onto a mouse. was risingstorm watching? he hoped so. one pawstep at a time, his instincts took over, he leapt at the rodent, paws landing right on top of it. "i got it! now what do i do?"
