Ashpaw wasn't sure he had heard his name at first. By the time he stepped into the clearing after recognizing his sister's call, there were so many others around! The grey tom's tail flicked and he grinned. What a day, to be surrounded by so many others!

Ashpaw bounded over to Specklepaw and headbutted his sister's shoulder. "Whoa! It feels like all of the apprentices are here!" He stated, tail swaying behind him and ears flicking to all the different conversations. "Where's Nightpaw, anyway?" He asked, eyes scanning for his other sister.

The apprentice bounded over, a tingling sense of curiosity overcoming him. Tree climbing, eh? He'd been wanting to give that a try. Seemed like a fun way to spend time, among its other assets. The apprentice listened to the conversations of his clanmates nearby and found himself a little amused, but didn't try to talk to anyone.

Oh geez. Well. He couldn't watch all these apprentices by himself. His eyes searched the clearing momentarily before they'd rest on Flytail near the Warriors' Den. "FLYTAIL!" The Commander called, his tail swishing behind him as he waited for the warrior to heed his call. "You can help me with this class. I need an extra set of eyes and paws," Hawkbite explained, gesturing towards the mass of cats before him.

Lupinepaw's question was a valid one, but annoying one. Rookfire seemed to have stepped in to chat about it and he was fine with the answer. However, it'd be rude to not answer, he was paying attention to them. "Hunting squirrels, birds, and other tree dwelling creatures is handy to know. I personally like to sit up in the trees and ambush trespassers or spy on clanmates. When you get up there, you might start to understand."

Alright, now that that was settled, Hawkbite could move on. "Alright listen up! We're going to go just outside camp. Each of you are to find a buddy to share a tree with. If you can't find a buddy, I will be assigning you one." He spoke, casting a gaze towards Deerclaw in the crowd.

"Deerclaw, I'll have you pair up with Rookfire since you're both older," Hawkbite spoke before waving his tail to dismiss the group to do what they want. It appeared Specklepaw and Ashpaw would be a pair, as well. This grouping up thing might go smoother than he anticipated.

Once the apprentices were settled with their partners, Hawkbite led them to the trees just outside the camp. He went through, assigning each pair a pine tree to attempt climbing.

"Everyone settled? Good. We can begin..."

You have THREE days to find a partner! You don't have to interact with your partner often during this lesson, but to keep the apprentices in a more compact area, each cat will be sharing a tree with someone else!

Once one is established, I'll add them to the list below.
Whoever is left over will be assigned in the next post.

Scorpionpaw loafed down as H/awkbite blabbered about partners and something about why they're doing this. Honestly, Scorp just wanted to learn it all. She was going to be the best and there was no one that could stop her!

Wait, circle back to the partner thing. Oh.

Her eyes immediately shot towards the quietest one of the group thus far. "Grottos, be my partner?!" She'd chirp. No offense to Emberpaw or Weepingpaw, but she didn't want to deal with a crying Weeping when he falls and she didn't want Ember hovering over her shoulder. Grottopaw seemed the most suitable to get things done! She'd turn her head to her other siblings here. "Weepers, join Ember?" she suggested. Whether they took that offer or not, totally up to them.

She'd sit up once Grottopaw confirmed and follow the Enforcer out to the territory, standing by the tree they were assigned and waiting for instructions.

rookfire was mildly annoyed that hawkbite had chosen flytail over him to assist in training, and even reminding himself that hawkbite most likely did not know of his knowledge of climbing did little to calm his spirits. rookfire had done so much for shadowclan, hell even for hawkbite specifically, and he was still treated like riverclan dung.

smoothing over his fur once more, rook turned to deerclaw. well them both being 'older' was quite the statement given deerclaw could be his fathers father. still. it was fine. he was fine.

he was fine until he wasnt. deerclaw made the phenomenal decision of pulling out a particularly annoying nickname. first up, ew, he was old, like seriously old, rook didnt need anyone besides nightshiver calling him lovely, but especially not a cat he hardly knew, just joined the clan, and already annoyed him.

"call me lovely again n i'll make sure you wont speak another word" he snapped back, single remaining ear pulled back. he didnt care how deerclaw meant it, rookfire was not in the mood for messing around.

"and to add, I would never refer to you as lovely, you are far from it" he muttered, hoping to get a reaction for it. he'd honestly never call anyone lovely, only his dear mama who happened to n o t be living for the treatment...he wondered if she would like living in a...clan █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▂ ▁

Pinepaw blew out a breath of air, his head throbbing. He wasn't Northernlight anymore-something to remember- he was Pinepaw. How was he supposed to find a partner if no one liked him? He bit his lip, his head down, but he bumped into someone. Sorry! I... He stammered, his eyes widening.
