She nodded occasionally while listening to her mentor's advice, a look of shock and horror crossing her face as her size and age were mentioned as possible factors to consider when chasing hares; and how not doing so could cause immediate death by snapping her spine. Chills radiated through her fur and she gave herself a shake as if to rid herself of bugs that had landed throughout her fur. I wish she was a little less blunt, the small she-cat though, shrinking back a little as her mentor continued on, not really going anywhere other than leaving a voice message for the intended recipient.

At her mentor's next request, Moonpaw blinked and opened her mouth, trying her best to take as much oxygen from her breathing. She couldn't detect any hidden pieces of prey on the winds, which means that those patient wasn't too obvious for it now. I ad about 2
Winterwisp looked at Moonpaw expectantly. It was clear to see that she expected the young cat to give her a very detailed response. Although nothing seemed to come out. "Nothing? How disappointing," Winterwisp sneered, clearly not impressed. "Well for your information, there is a mouse. Quite far away. It's probably disappeared now, there was no way you could've ever caught that at the rate it takes you to even sniff the breeze," Winterwisp remarked, rolling her eyes in annoyance and impatience. "Well seeing you're too dumb to work out the obvious, lets try something more simple," the warrior declared. Thinking on her paws, another idea quickly snapped into mind. "Right. Imagine you're in a battle and you're being chased by a warrior. A warrior much larger and experienced then you," Winterwisp started. Although that wouldn't be hard to find, the she-cat thought, rolling her eyes again. "You're injured all over and you have no choice but to hide and wait for them to go away. Judging by your surroundings, where would you hide?" Winterwisp asked the young cat.

Glancing around quickly, the WindClan warrior knew she would most likely go for a large rabbit tunnel or long grass. Most clans normally thought that it was always going to be impossible to hide in the moors, but there were more places than one might expect. The others clans are just too dumb to see, Winterwisp thought bitterly.

(could you tell i was tired when writing that post? xD)

Moonpaw blinked, looking over at her mentor. She had planned to give a better answer than simple 'nothing', but hadn't had the time to do so before Winterwisp cut her off. Waves of guilt washed over the young apprentice, and she shrunk back at each word the WindClan warrior spoke. She hadn't meant to mess up her first day as an apprentice so badly, but something had gone wrong along the way, and now the young molly felt like the furthest thing away from a warrior car apprentice. If only she hadn't spent so much time in the medicine cat den memorizing herbs and watching her uncle, she might've picked up on some of the techniques the other apprentices - and even some kits - seemed to have. The sense of depth when it came to both offensive and defensive moves was something that Moonpaw just couldn't comprehend, and she knew that while Winterwisp was waiting for an answer to her current question, saying 'disguise my scent using borage leaves' was probably not the correct one.
"Uh," the she-cat stammered, whipping her head back and forth as she scanned the territory. She felt the fur on the back of her neck rise up slowly in panic, almost as if there was a real warrior chasing after her and it was only a matter of time before they sunk their experienced claws into her fur. This is why I prefer the medicine den she though helplessly, fear beginning to creep into her blue eyes, Surgestorm never rushed me!
She gave another quick sweep of her surroundings before spotting a dip in the snow. "Aha!" she murmured under her breath, and without waiting a moment longer spun around on her heels and darted towards it, paws skimming the ground. Flurries of snow were kicked up from behind her as she dashed to the dividend, feeling the wind push her whiskers back against her cheeks. With one last burst of effort, she felt her paws make contact with the snow above the dip, and with a wail went plummeting down the rabbit hole that she knew was there.
Moonpaw gasped for air as she felt the snow cave in around her, instantly soaking her somewhat thin fur. She squeezed her eyes shut as silence rushed around her ears. Slowly blinking her blue orbs open, Moonpaw saw nothing but frozen white as the snow now surrounded her from all sides. I'm trapped! she thought, panic rushing through her fur, and instantly began to kick and claw her way out. At the surface, pawfuls of snow were flying everywhere, eventually making way for Moonpaw's head as she rose up, her breathing fast and uneven, eyes wide and panicky.

[Yeup XD]

No expression crossed the warrior's face for a few moments as she watched the young cat look around quickly for a place to hide. Winterwisp realized the apprentice was heading for a rabbit hole covered with a thick layer of snow. How stupid is she? Can't she tell that's a rabbit hole? She'll get stuck in it! That idiot excuse of a cat! Winterwisp thought with exasperation, although she made not a single move to stop her. What a great mentor she was. "She's just going to learn everything the hard way isn't she? She's hardly gotten a single thing right! The only thing she's done right is run! And even so she isn't fast enough!" Winterwisp muttered to herself, enjoying her little rant and alone time.
The WindClan warrior didn't like the company of others. She just found it absolutely stupid. Who would want to constantly be badgered with questions and have to continue a conversation? What was the fun in it? As a young kit she was deeply grateful for the company of her clan, despite the fact that pretty much everyone hated her. Even the queens would treat her brutally. Life had never been fun then, but after living alone with nothing but twolegs and other fat, lazy kittypets, Winterwisp had greatly enjoyed hearing her clanmates talking and working. As she grew older, the harsh words and actions got to her and she turned bitter and sour. If no one was going to enjoy the company of her, then why should she?
Winterwisp continued to watch the apprentice with no expression on her face as Moonpaw fell into the rabbit hole. Amusement glowed in her hues as she watched snow being brutally kicked all over the place. She really needs to stop panicking, Winterwisp thought, not showing any signs that she was going to go help the poor cat. She decided it would be 'best', if she left her to find her own way out. Survival skills. A great thing to learn about, though I doubt it'll all be a waste the moment she steps into the territory alone for the first time, the black and white she-cat thought, snorting in amusement. No insane looking smile crossed her maw despite feelings of humour. The warrior never laughed our smiled normally. She wasn't used to doing those kinds of weird things and when she did, she looked like a maniac.
Once Moonpaw had dragged herself out of the rabbit hole, Winterwisp walked forward to give her apprentice another scolding. "You idiot! Even a kit could've known that that rabbit hole was dangerous!" Winterwisp thundered, a massive scowl on her face. She didn't have time for such stupidity. "Now get up and try that again! And actually use some common sense this ground time will you?" the warrior snarled. It was very clear to see she didn't care about what happened to Moonpaw.

How could anyone want to attack it? It's beautiful...isn't it?" ShinePaw sighed, memories of the near death experience she and her siblings had flickered to life at the back of her mind, wishing to burst free. The grey she-cat shook her head as tears formed in her pale eyes. I mustn't let my past hold me back...I must let it make me a stronger warrior! "sorry, I am getting carried away. Take me to the first landmark, Flamestorm." She continued.
"I think we should go to..." She paused taking a deep sigh. "Actually I will take to the edge of the thunderpath...But we are NOT crossing it."Her firey pelt glimmered. Once it was done, she did not have to do it again...Right?

"You sound very unsure...if there's a problem with the thunderpath I understand if we can't visit it...there's always another day." The grey she-cat purred. My...perhaps she's a little indecisive?

It was definitely a more bearable leaf-bare day, as it wasn't too chilly out; in fact, it was actually starting to warm up. Though snow still covered the ground, the young WindClan apprentice could sense change on the breeze. "It must not be too much longer until newleaf," she replied, glancing to her side where one of her close friends Tawnypaw walked beside her. She had fallen out of touch with the apprentice; the two had been close during their kithood days, but since the busy rush of warrior apprentice duties, she hadn't much time to see her. When she wasn't out training, she was in her uncle's den, either telling him about her day, or listening to him sort through his herb stack. It felt nice to be around the fellow WindClan apprentice; she had always liked her as a friend.
Turning her attention to the rolling hills that stretched before her paws, Moonpaw parted her jaws to scent the air. The tingles of frozen icy danced around her nose and she took a deep breath, indulging in the wintery smell. It sent shivers down her spine and fluffed her fur up, and a smile graced her soft features. "It's so nice to be out here without any nagging mentors," she laughed, voicing her earlier thoughts. The she-cat arched her rump in the air as she leaned forward, giving herself a good stretch before rising back to her paws and giving her fur a good shake. Her limbs ached to run and play in the snow, but Moonpaw restrained herself. She wasn't about to go rushing off without checking if the coast was clear, and leaving Tawnypaw behind. She swung her head to the side and smiled at her friend, blue eyes glimmering in the bright gray light that shone down from the sky. "What do you wanna do now that we're out and free?" she inquired, knowing that her friend might have more creative ideas than she would; she was boring, a simple walk in the snow and maybe a snowball fight somewhere safe was her idea of a fun outing, but Tawnypaw, she knew, had a more devious mind. And Moonpaw, for some odd reason, felt intrigued by what possible ideas her friend could come up with.

"...It really is." Tawnypaw smiled, looking out among the fields in awe as she stood next to her friend, smiling. She'd never felt this happy in a long while, and it was nice to be able to relax for once with somebody who she cared about. Of course, there was always the option to do something reckless- even being in the territory without a warrior was dangerous, but due to the open space, it was easy to smell or even just see if a predator was coming your way. Her tail swishing against the snow-covered ground as she gazed over at Moonpaw, she thought for a second about what they should do before eventually responding. "I'm fine with anything, really- but if you want, we could go explore." She exclaimed, pointing her tail out into the vast wilderness they stood next to in glee. Being a new apprentice meant most of the territory was still unfamiliar to her, and what could be better than getting to know the world around them with her friend in tow? She'd been so shaken by the loss of those close to her that she retreated into her apprentice duties for awhile, but now she'd been able to come out of her shell and try exploring who she really was, and the things she would be able to do as an individual.
Grief
held her down, but getting up and actually deciding to do something proactive had been making her feel a lot better about things- and that meant a lot, considering Tawnypaw already had a tendency for a bitter attitude. She was excited to be out in the territory, with the cool breeze behind her back- in fact, she was excited for just about anything that would happen. This was the best she'd felt in moons, and it was almost as if she could jump to the moon and back with energy. Turning her gaze back to Moonpaw, she let out a small laugh at the idea of her exploration, adding something else into her proposition before letting the other apprentice talk again. "Of course, I'm fine if you don't wanna do it- I'm cool with other things, too! It's just pretty great to be out with a friend for awhile, just the two of us."

Typically, Moonpaw was far from the type of cat who was considered a daredevil. She had seen where that had gotten her other friend Leopardpaw - a broken paw and a moon in her uncles den. Though she had no disagreements with the latter, a broken paw and cast definitely did not sound like any fun. Plus, she knew her uncle would claw her fur off if he found out she was doing anything that went against what a normal apprentice should be doing. Still though, as the breeze ruffled her fur once more, Moonpaw felt as though she could trust Tawnypaw.
"Let's go explore. Of course, we'll stay in the open where we can see around us, but that sounds like fun," she purred in agreement, a flash lighting up her crystal blue eyes as she smiled at her friend. The excitement rushed from her ears right down to her tail tip. Aside from her friend Leopardpaw, not too many cats in her life looked at life as an exciting game. Her father had raised her straight and proper, although he did goof around a bit. She had learned memorization, patient, and gentleness from Surgestorm. But Moonpaw hadn't ever dabbled in the "troublemaker" stereotype - maybe that was why her two best friends happened to be more outgoing than she was.
Looking around, the black and white she-cat had no idea where to go first. Everything seemed to widespread and open and... unfamiliar. It scared her a little, but she would never admit that to Tawnypaw. Instead, she straightened herself up and looked ahead, narrowing her eyes as if to see better. "I wonder what's over there?" she mewed, locking her gaze on a rare patch of trees that huddled atop on of the many rolling hills that made up WindClan territory. Her curious side got the better of her and she glanced at Tawnypaw, raising one eyebrow and waited for her friends response. She didn't want to be the one to suggest it; it just wasn't in her nature. But she couldn't deny the rising feeling of what could potentially be out there...

While his upper body lowered, his lower body was held in the air, his long tail curled up over his back until he could no longer stretch. What was left of his muscles rippled beneath his pelt. His fiery pelt was just clinging to his frame. Although because his pelt was long and thick, it was hard to see that.

Leaf-bare was harder than normal this year. The fires swept through and ruined half their hunting grounds leaving little to no prey left for the clan. Everyone was suffering. Some more than others. The queens, kits, and elders were well-taken care of as the leader had high respect and protectiveness for them. Finishing his stretch, he stood up to his average height. He was overall just an average feline. Nothing too special besides his built, obviously more for speed than anything else. His golden hues flashed in the sunshine. New-leaf is right around the corner... he reminded himself as he gazed upwards at the sky. He could sense the new season coming around, now if only these cold fronts would stop.

As his gaze lowered, he was left facing away from the leader's den and towards the warriors. Just a few tail-lengths away, he spotted an unfamiliar pelt. Odd It was a pretty she-cat, but he assumed she knew that. Blazingstar knew most of the clan so the whole idea that he didn't know who she was, concerned him. It was now his goal to know who she was. So with that, the leader padded swiftly across the clearing. His pawsteps were light, although made a soft thudding sound on the snow. His long, fluffy tail swished behind him, and a small smile ran across his lips. In all, he looked overly-friendly.

Stopping about a tail-length from the she-cat, he gave her a small dip of his head, clearly showing a greeting. "I'm afraid we haven't met," he came right out and said it. The ginger tom was known to having little to no shame and being open like this was nothing new for him. "I'm Blazingstar, although I hope you know that," he chuckled, but paused. "Who might you be? I don't think I've gotten to knowing your name or seen you around much," he spoke, his brow raising. He knew Shrikecall was responsible for assigning patrols and all that, but Blazingstar didn't think it was all that fair and most times, he personally chose to get to know his clan. What is a clan without trust, after all?
Fawnskip's ears heard a feline nearing before her eyes spotted him, and she sharply whipped her head up to see who dared approach. She knew the long-haired ginger tomcat - the male who stood upon Breezerock when announcing ceremonies - who didn't? He looked extremely friendly, and easy to talk to, and she grinned brightly at this. She watched him closely as he stopped before her, bowing his head in greeting, and then allowing a blunt comment to slip past his lips. Fawnskip appreciated his straight-forward nature, and she released light giggles when he stated the obvious.

``Of course I know you,`` Fawnskip meowed in a teasing tone, leaning forward slightly as she put emphasis on `you`. ``It's quite the honor to be noticed by you, y'know, though I am a bit upset you only now take interest in me!`` Her tone was light and teasing, and she laughed gently after speaking. She looked at him with dancing eyes, golden eyes sparkling with joy and excitement. She radiated a certain genuine happiness that could be contagious. She loves chatting, and Blazingstar was generously offering her the opportunity. Perhaps the two would reach a level where Fawnskip felt comfortable enough to flirt with him, and play `chase`. ``Don't you remember apprenticing Pinepaw to me in the most recent batch of ceremonies?`` Her grin was bright.

She brought herself to her paws, pressing her paw pads firmly against the cold ground for support. Her tail-tip flicked quickly with excitement. Fawnskip seated herself, straightening her spine in an impressive posture. Nonchalantly, she brought her forepaw to her mouth, drawing her pink tongue over a tuft of ruffled fur. Placing her paw back on the ground, she looked up at Blazingstar with innocent eyes. However, she was anything but innocent. She could be incredibly deceitful when she wanted to be as she perfected the art of acting. She was willful, and would do whatever she needed to get what she wanted. She was fiery, with a short temper. She was charming, flirtatious, and found the `chase` much better than the `catch`. She was strongly loyal, and would never betray those who earned her trust. She was independent, and preferred to follow her own rules compared to those of others. She was reserved, and rarely shared personal things about herself. She was sarcastic, and had a dry sense of humor. She was stubborn, and did not give up without a fight. Fawnskip had an even blend of pros and cons, and she acknowledged both her flaws and skills. She wasn't perfect and she knew that just as she knew how gorgeous she was.

``I forgive you, though,`` Fawnskip purred. ``It must be challenging, leading an abundance of cats while knowing all their names.`` She was slowly attempting to figure out Blazingstar. Was he like her, and using her for entertainment? Was he truly interested in her company? What did she think of their meeting? Honestly, she didn't know, and that scared her. She always knew what she wanted, but not at this moment. What do I want? Blazingstar was the leader of her Clan, and she would not risk exile by using him - she loved WindClan. But she loved fun, and no doubt Blazingstar would be an interesting target. She should live life to its fullest - after all, she could die tomorrow. Could I get him to pad after me? And then she decided, Challenge accepted.
