Shaking, Slatekit closes her eyes, wishing for the horror to end. When she opens them, she is sitting again on the stump. She lets out an appreciative breath and flicks her white tipped tail. Although she not seen the rest, the flashback was not over. And despite Slatekit being the one veiwing it, it was not about her.

After the gray tom left, the white she-cat gave up. She ended herself using a sharp stick. Little did she know that, unlike what she had thought, the white kit was not dead. It stood up weakly next to its dead mother's body and wobbled unstabley in the direction of a tall forest, its green eye and magenta eye dull with hunger and exhaustion.

Lillysong didn't know if she should've felt offended, but she was delighted. "Actually, I was born here. I'm just a little clumsy, that's all" She laughed shyly. "Also, don't be worried of annoying me. I have a younger brother who follows me everywhere and talks to me every hour! She chuckled a little. "Being friends would be nice"

Dottedflame understood. ''I'm..a bit clumsy,'' and as if on cue, as he was walking, he tripped over one of his paws, and fell. ''too.'' He finished, and he felt his ear tips go red from the embarrassment. He quickly got up and shook the debris from his fur. To cover up his sheepish state, he quickly added. ''Oh, a little brother!?'' He exclaimed. ''I love little siblings! It's kinda boring being born alone in a litter, but then again I have my good friend Merrypaw who is like a sister to me. Well, I took her in when her parents were found dead at the border...but...that's a story I shouldn't tell. You should introduce me to your little brother though! He sounds awesome!'' Dottedflame liked this female. She seemed mellow and cool to talk to, and he hoped they would remain good friends for a long time.

Herringpaw looked terrified after hearing her story, his eyes wide open as he heard the she-cat talk, he shook his head. "I-I didn't like it, I-I thought it was gonna be a nice story, not one where you nearly drowned and that a warrior died." He mewed shakily, gazing straight in her eyes, he shrunk down, he didn't want to get yelled at, he hated it when someone got mad at him, at least, he did say his opinion and didn't lie, it was a good thing for him, to be honest, never did he ever think about lying, whenever he tried, he ended up breaking down and told the truth... Guilt, he felt guilty about lying to others, even strangers, intruders, however you want to call them- He just felt bad. The young apprentice then turned his gaze towards his paws. "C-Can I have another story, n-not one like the one you just told me..?" He asked shyly.

Lillysong smiled. "We have something in common I guess" She meowed. "I'm sure that Sunpaw would love to meet you." She smiled again. "It was Dottedflame, right?" She asked

Dottedflame twitched his ears. ''The one and only!'' He gave a large smile, then frowned a bit. ''At least I hope.'' He chuckled, playfully. ''I think it would be wonderful to meet the young lad. Does he have a mentor at all?'' Dottedflame asked as he sat down on his haunches and begin absentmindedly grooming himself while his ears stayed focus on the female he was talking to. He wondered if this Sunpaw had made any friends yet. By the looks of it, Lillysong didn't seem to have many. But, the eyes could be deceiving. She looked lonesome when he was out there swimming. He shrugged this off. It was his first time seeing the she-cat in his life. If he did see her before, he didn't notice his surroundings. He was constantly aloof anyway, and he had to pay attention to more of the things around him. But he did note that he liked Lillysong. She was, by far, one of the first females to not runaway from him; be annoyed by him; or found him a nuisance. He usually annoyed a lot of females he ran across...but this one was not budging. And, he thanked Starclan for that.

Dottedflame stared at the female with interest. He wondered what she could possibly be thinking about. She did seem weird, in his opinion, but he did like her for some odd reason. His yellow eyes flickered with a spark as he waited for her to respond. ''Yes...Merrypaw has her moments.'' He chuckled, before adding. ''You want to go swimming?'' He suggested, then quickly added, ''Want to go chase birds away?'' One of his favorite activities were chasing the birds away that landed. Most other cats enjoyed hunting them, but Dottedflame was too sensitive to ever hurt birds. Besides, they weren't his favorite food anyway. ''Or we can go explore the territory!'' He jumped excitedly. Another one of his favorite activities was exploring the territory and seeing what cool things that awaited to be discovered. He always kept himself occupied daily, and he was hoping to help his new friend live a little.

Chaseripple was just about to take a small bite from the meaty flank of the carp when he heard the soft meow. He smiled, jnowing without even seeing it was the beautiful voice of his mate. Purring as he looked up, Chaseripple fixed his vibrant yellow green eyes on that of his closest companion. "Mornin' Cobaltshade." He purred lovingly. He slid over a bit that way the blue she cat would have room to join him at his side. "And yes, I slept rather well. What about you?" He asked in return. The blue gray tom cat had missed the quality time that he normally spent with his mate. With her in the nursery with Flashkit, he didn't have as much alone time where the two of them could be close and in each other's company, without interruptions. He knew though, that in just a few short months, their kit would be an apprentice, leaving Cobaltshade and he to some more time.

He figured it was normal though. He knew a few other queens, and he rarely saw them when they were with kits, so it must be a full time job watching over rambunctious kittens. He remembered that he too had been rowdy and mischievous when he was young, but he never remembered being more of a nuisance than just a handle of work. Although, since he had been the kit then, young and innocent, he most likely hadn't realized that he was in fact being a nuisance. Oh well, he didn't mind. If they had to be separated, he was bald it was for the cause of them raising a family and to help keep the Clan strong. "Oh, I I forgot to ask, how's Flashkit doing? I know it's been a while since I've been in there, but I am terribly sorry about that, by the way."

Hearing his return greeting simply brought that smile on her muzzle a bit wider as she settled down next to him, unable to contain that spurt of happiness that rushed through her at realizing she finally had a little bit of time to spend some time with him.
"Glad to hear you slept well, I myself have slept fairly well, but ever since I've been in the nursery I've found it strange not to be amongst the warriors." Cobaltshade admitted with a small sigh, resting her cheek on his shoulder momentarily before lifting her head again to look across the clearing, remembering that she still had to keep half a gaze on Flashkit, he was still relatively young and needed watching. It was her duty as his mother to watch him as carefully as ever, but give him space so that he could learn and grow properly, she thought about this in a rather logical way, acting more so from logic than intuition. But the Russian Blue has always been that way just about anything, it's no surprise that her view on raising a kit was the same way and that motherhood has hardly changed her. That's one thing about Cobaltshade, through everything, she has never changed, not for a moment.

As she watched her beloved little monster across the clearing, she heard Chaseripple ask a new question, her ears perking and her head turning to look at him for a moment, the smile back to her muzzle.
"Oh it's fine Chase dear, I understand. Hah, I mean if any cat were to understand, it would be me!" She purred with a quiet chuckle before going on to answer his question, her eyes back to following the kit.
"He's doing good, growing up too quickly if you ask me. He'll be a good strong kit though, I can tell." As she finished speaking, she would look to the carp that Chaseripple had brought over for himself before tucking her tail to the side.
"It's nice to think that I'll be back in the warriors den soon though, I have to say I've missed my duties and I've missed being next to you. What I wouldn't give to finally go back out in the territory to catch a water vole, or to patrol the borders!"
