Fennel didn't reply just hopped up.
Cucumberpickle nodded," Sure."

She turned to Fennelheart. "Go talk to Grousestar, then see the medicine cat, okay?" Looking at the tom, she added. "We should probably wait for Grousestar's orders before we do anything."

Whilst he observed the creatures, his caudal fluctuated mindlessly, with his audits swivelling atop of his refined cranium. His body language gave off an aura of assertiveness, although he was far from that. In fact, Sagemist was zoned out; in his own little world at the moment. For once, the passive-aggressive midnight-kissed tom was... quiet; although it wasn't long-lasting.
As he continued on with observing the tiny insects, the achromatic feline soon found himself becoming in contact with another force. At first, he was plain irritated, but his irritation soon dispersed as another male appeared by his side. Sagemist's face soon became distorted -- scrunched up -- as he felt the feline prod his shoulder with a mitt. Arching a brow, the ebony feline gave a soft scoff; whilst his auds perked forwards to take in the string of words that were being said. Being as cautious and wary as possible, the tom wound his way around to face the golden-eyed warrior; his brow still raised upwards.
"Well, I'm guessing that I have no other choice." he spoke bluntly in response, clearly addressing the other with a scowl still present on his face.

Morningheart gave the tom a small smile, satisfied that someone had agreed to a patrol. "Excellent! Thank you for your cooperation." The cream tom clicked his tongue, arching his brow as he scanned the camp for anyone gathering for the patrol he called. A small tap of his claws against the ground, and he addressed Sagemist with a grunt. "It appears no one else is willing to do something for their Clan, so we'd ought to go." The warrior watched the dark tom carerfully, tailtip quivering as he shifted his copper gaze over to the bramble entwined exit of camp."Where do you think we should head?" Morningheart twitched his whiskers. "Before we go, may I ask what is your name, sir?" The masculine feline arched his back momentarily, giving himself a good stretch before sitting still.

You know, you should really get some more sleep, you'd be able to hunt better. You haven't been catching as much.
A body-less voice spoke in his head as he laid there with dull eyes at the edge of the clearing, a place and sight that has been common ever since Skyclan had situated in the new territory beside the Dusk Syndicate. Ever since they moved, he had lost all hope in ever being able to see Willowrain again, the one cat who accepted him, the one cat he thought he had a chance with. All of that was gone now and he was left alone, a miserable heap among cats who didn't wish to conversate with him because of how awkward he was in social situations, conversations dropping into awkward silence, his inability to apparently connect with other cats emotions, his inability to help others cope because he could hardly understand his own emotions. But who is this 'he' that I've been referring to?
That is Yarrowpounce, the mostly white tom with a brown tail, brown patches on the back of his forepaws and a brown patch over his left eye, a skinny cat who very clearly wasn't meant to take down anything over strength, but very likely speed. A cat that could have possibly been considered one of Skyclan's best hunters, but not anymore.
Now the warrior just sat there in the clearing for most of the day, staring off into space and wondering what caused the one cat that cared to utterly disappear like she did, what he did wrong, what he could have done better, what he could have done to make her stay. He occasionally was placed on a border patrol or a hunting patrol, but for the most part he was in the back of the border patrol, not even attempting to converse with the other cats in the ground, and on hunting patrols he usually failed to catch anything at all. His mind was elsewhere, not paying attention to catching prey, or checking scents, his decisions completely clouded every waking second of each day. Yarrowpounce was barely living any more it felt like.
You should eat, when was the last time you ate?
The thought caused him to stir lightly, his yellow eyes blinking slowly and becoming a little less hazed than they were before, looking slowly one way, then the next, taking the sight in before him before looking at his side, where a few of his ribs were prominently sticking out. He hadn't been eating regularly, most of the time not even noticing that he was hungry, forgetting that he needed to eat, hardly having the motivation to do it if he even did happen to remember. It seemed he was stuck in a very deep rut, a very deep rut that would lead nowhere at all and it seemed too deep to be able to climb out, especially with no one to talk to.
Heaving out a slow, deep breath, Yarrowpounce would turn his gaze to the fresh kill pile that seemed so impossibly far away, vaguely aware of the painful gnawing hunger that stabbed at his gut. His limbs felt like they were filled with stone, tying him to this spot he laid in, preventing him from getting up and receiving the vital nutrients he so desperately needed to survive.
I'll get food in a minute. He replied to his mind dully, his gaze slowly traveling to the ground where it would stay, looking at a single strand of grass that waved with the breeze, his gaze fixating there and threatening to glaze over again with his self-loathing thoughts. Part of him was fighting hard to try and not think about it, that part of him had been fighting for the past several moons and yet each time it was swarmed and snuffed out as he fell back into his thoughts, bleeding hours upon hours away, just sitting there. Staring.
Please, someone, anyone. Save me before these thoughts take over again. I don't want to keep dwelling on them. Please... Save me.

{Awww, I thought you forgot about me ;w;. Kidding, kidding take your time!}
Splotchfeather looked around the clearing, hoping to find some sad face she could muse. After all, it was her job to cheer up anyone who was depressed. Who was sad. Who was on the verge of breaking down. It was what she was here for. Though, she always pried a little too strong. Something, she needed to maintain. Learn to maintain, but it was hard to maintain such energy in a small body of hers. She needed to run, jump around, smell the flowers, follow the butterflies, sprang after the birds. Anything to keep her from wasting her time and sitting all day.
It wasn’t her forte. Though at times, she enjoyed a little peace and quiet. It was nothing wrong with it, but she always been a little..rowdy for some taste. Boisterous, insane--most likely. Anything of the sort. But they would never understand. These other cats would never understand the love she had for laughing. The joy that shadowed on her heart whenever she was able to help someone who gave up on hope.
Hope was important. Splotchfeather always clung to it. She knew fate was never in her hands, and at one point she decided that Starclan given up on her, but she still believed in it. This calico feline goes around, prancing about, sometimes singing or humming when she lost everything that she held dearly. When she lost contact with her first brother--was he still alive? When he mother decided to run after her stolen kit, and forced Splotchfeather and her youngest brother to stay on the other side--she was never coming back. That monster struck her too hard, and when...inevitably she lost her youngest brother. So, Splotchfeather knew what it felt like to be alone. She was always alone, but she never spoke on this. As long as others didn’t feel so alone, she was okay with that.
And, as she was humming, lost in her own thoughts. The feline traveled with her head down. She wondered if Greystep ever talked to this feline...this friend he had been telling her about. Splotchfeather carried a vivid memory, and instantly her brain shot out Owlwing! Yeah, she wondered if Greystep talked to Owlwing, if anything happened between them. She had hoped that he was happy at least, and she figured she would stop by and see him whenever she could. He was getting older, and she wasn’t getting any younger...she had to see him.
Yet, life was going...slow in a sense. At least to her, since she never caught a break. That she was always moving too fast. Going here and there. Boundless energy, and most warriors couldn’t even stand to walk a distance. It was truly amazing in the least how she would act. How she would always smile, and talk endless with someone when they needed her the most. And, at times she would help the the queens settle down their kits. It was the only time where she would settle down; in the company of small kits. Either telling them stories or humming a lullaby to help them sleep. Maybe even fall asleep herself.
When was the last time she slept? Splotchfeather brought her head back up, placing a bright smile on her muzzle as she shouted hellos to everyone she walked past. One thing she knew she wanted to be was the sun that lit up everyone’s morning. Especially the ones who were down, and there were many of them. Too many to count. Too many in hiding. Too many she promised herself that she would seek out.
And, at the perfect timing, the she-cat shouted a hello to mostly white tom with patches of a brown tabby. He looked...unhealthy in a sense. Physically, well as far as she could see, he looked well, but she could tell on the inside that something seemed to be bothering him. The she-cat tilted her head, pondering on if she should go up and talk to him. ‘’Isn’t that what I wanted to do all day? Talk to someone?’’ Cheer them up, patch them up, and glow down at them, hoping that they would be happy the next time she ran into them.
The she-cat sprang to her paws and she ran into him, having to stop herself before she made a horrible impact on the both of them. She stopped, probably too close to him, and quickly backed away, laughing. ‘’Hi!’’ She shouted, happily to the tom, her eyes sparkling their yellow hues. ‘’I’ve seen that you looked sad...unless you wanted to be alone...or planning something...or depressed...but whatever!’’ She stopped her rambling because she knew once she started, she wouldn’t be able to stop, and she didn’t want the tom to get angry at her--frightened of her like Greystep at been. And, she was yelled at a few times for being an idiot---which hurt, yet she smiled brightly because she knew every cat was entitled to their own opinion. It was weird that sometimes she was broken down, knocked apart, but constantly smiled like nothing could ruin her spirit. There was just so much a she-cat could take...she still smiled brightly at him, inwardly her smile faltering. She wondered how he would respond. Would he accept her? Run her away? Completely ignore her existence? It wouldn’t be the first time, nor the last time. Sometimes the she-cat was needed, and other times, she wasn’t wanted. ‘’...Just thought I’d stop by and see what I can do to cheer up your day.’’

Cucumberpickle usually pulled away at affection, but surprisingly he didn't.

He let out a snort and lashed his tail, he didn't really want to talk to the apprentice, he was 100% positive talking to the Tom was making him stupid, and he didn't want that. "That's pretty pathetic. Even your apologies are sad." he stated cooly, he had no filter when it came to stating facts and opinions, they were words, nothing more, nothing less. He didn't feel the need to filter the words he spoke, they didn't have any meaning, they didn't hold any value, they didn't truly exist to the kit, they were made of air, unseen partials, that's all they were. After watching the apprentice try and figure out what to say next he sat himself down with a huff and wrapped his tail around his paws neatly, he had a feeling he was going to be here a while. Upon the others statement he let out another snort, annoyance gleamed in his green hues, he gave arrowpaw the 'are you an idiot' face "Not if they don't hold any valuable information for me. Like you for example, I don't need to speak to you because you hold no value to me, you're useless." he said matter of factly, his words dripped with truth and coldness, he had no use for the apprentice, the only use the apprentice was is when someone needed to be annoyed, if that's the case, he was doing his job right. He didn't care for those who lacked the knowledge and confidence, and seemingly this apprentice lacked both of those, and then some. Hummingkit was torn, he wanted to help him, give him confidence. But at the same time he just wanted to walk away, leave the Tom alone and watch him fail.
The kit made his choice once the apprentice apologized once more, he pushed the last button "How in the name of Starclan could some low self esteemed, weak hearted, pathetic apprentice like you ever offend me?" he asked, it was a rhetorical question he didn't wish for the Tom to answer, he bet it was going to be a stupid, emotional answer, not at all full of facts, all opinion. It's come to the point where every time the kit looked up at the other Tom, annoyance began to blossom within his soul, he came to greatly detest arrowpaw, down to the very way he talks.
|
"I just-" he didn't know how to win. He felt terrible whenever somebody was growing irritated of his presence, and he could basically feel the aggravation the the kits tone. he was indefinably more mature then most kits, if not all, so his harsh words both shocking and very hurtful towards him. he already didn't have the biggest self esteem, he constantly worried, and second guessed himself at times. So the words just struck where it hurt most; his feelings. Green hues looked up at the kit, watery. "I d-don't know I.." he trailed off, looking at ground instead. "I-I may not be the er- best apprentice but I care. I was j-just checking." his words were quiet but they weren't uncertain. he was low to the ground, shrinking basically that his belly was almost touching the ground in submission. He didn't know what to say. he wished Ploverpaw was here, he hated relying on other cats for support, much less his best friend, but he did. He stood up a bit more, eats pinned to the back of his head, looking the other way. "Maybe I should go-" he stuttered out. He wanted this to end, he just wanted to end. he hated having a low self esteem, always second guessing himself whenever cats said certain words. But no matter how much words could hurt him he would always say sorry, he would always show kindness to those around him, even at the cost of his happiness and dignity and self respect.

Breathing in, she focused on how she would say it, then breathed out, and looked at the full ebony molly. "Well, we've been mates for a while now and I have found out I am due to have kits." she purred, her soft yellow hues alight with excitement. She loved the idea of having a family, especially with Cliffheart, despite him doubting his fatherly skills. She knows he will be a great father. The Somali gave a bright smile to the deputy, awaiting her response.

The ebony molly blinked at Scorchedpetal's response. A small yet warm smile grew on her maw. "Well it's wonderful to see that Cliffheart has found happiness," Auroraflame remarked, chuckling softly. Pride for her friend swelled in her. To find happiness with such misfortunes was a hard thing to do. But Cliffheart had done it, with the help of Scorchedpetal. If she was being honest, the deputy didn't know Scorchedpetal too well, but she kenw enough. The ebony feline knew she was a kind, caring cat. The somali's next words were words of joy. "That's wonderful! Congratulations! Kit's are always a gift to the clan," Auroraflame purred. To know there would soon be miniature Cliffheart's and Scorchedpetal's running around warmed the molly's heart. This was some of the best news she had heard for a while. A lot of the other news she heard was related to the cruel cats of the Dusk Syndicate.
