Now, upon entering a good area to begin, Obsidiansky turned back to Rainpaw. "Okay. Show me your best crouch." He'd never done this before. So how was he supposed to know whether he was supposed to show Rainpaw first, or if Rainpaw was supposed to show him and he could go from there? "Or if you'd prefer I can show you mine and you can go off that," He offered. Though knowing the apprentice so far, he felt prety confident that the grey feline would be choosing the former. As far as Obsidiansky could tell, Rainpaw seemed to like spoken praise. Who didn't like to be praised, after all? So, the tom was getting ready to tell Rainpaw was he was doing right or wrong, and at the same time he was tensed-- ready to drop down into a crouch at the first sign that that was what Rainpaw would prefer. All he wanted to do was make sure that Rainpaw was doing good.

Rainpaw suppressed a sigh of relief that his mentor finally fell silent about his personal affairs but twitched his ear in annoyance when he saw the pleased smile on Obsidiansky's maw. You win this round. At last he could push all that away and focus on hunting. He wanted to become an apprentice that the darker tom was proud of.
"I'll do the hunting crouch." He tried to remember everything about crouches he could remember but there seemed to be hardly anything. Remembering watching the kits in the nursery play hunt would be no help to him, what did they know? However, he did remember a small conversation he picked up from a couple of apprentices.
"Haretuft said I'm learning quickly!"
"Lucky! I can't seem to get my crouch low enough..."
The voices faded as the memory did but it didn't leave Rainpaw with too much information. Low. He took a deep breath and launched right in, bunching up his undeveloped muscles and lowering into a crouch...except, it wasn't so much a crouch as much it was an awkward pose. He was lopsided and though he leaned down his hind quarters stuck in the air. If only Rainpaw could see himself he'd realize how silly and off he was but this is what he thought a hunting crouch was.

"Dont even think about it Sandy." Hazelfang said dryly, padding out beside her as she shook scraps of moss from her fur. Sandblood pouted, but turned back to her, eyes sparkling with interest.
"I just wanted to say hello." On the last word she hissed, baring her teeth with a wide grin. Hazelfang rolled her eyes at her best friend.
"Mhm. Where's Rabbitbitten, Limestripe and Battail?" She wondered, looking around curiously.
Sandblood scoffed. "Cant we just ditch those nerds for once?"
"Sandy." Hazelfang chided. "They're our friends. Besides, I think Battail likes you." She smirked, and Sandblood rolled her eyes.
"As Limestripe likes you."
"He does not!" Hazelfang grunted, and Sandblood rolled her eyes again before looking around.
"Now where are they..?"

Two toms made their way into the clearing, discussing nonsense it would seem to others, but how they viewed it? It was a battle of the mind between the two. These two tons were highly opinionated, and as the one believed one thing, the other believed the opposite. Though that was how Rabbitbitten and Battail acted towards each other. Always bickering--more so, having a debate as Battail liked to call it.
"You sound fox-brained." The bobtail rolled his eyes. "First of all there would be no way, in all of Starclan that two constellations would cross."
"And why wouldn't there be?" Rabbitbitten countered. "I mean, aren't the stars connected in a type of way?"
"Well, yeah, but not every star forms a constellation."
"Says who?"
"Says the nature of watching stars." The older tom batted at the younger one. Battail had to admit that he did enjoy having little discussions with his friend. It was something about Rabbitbitten that he could not decipher. As he looked ahead of him, he caught scent of a familiar best friend of his, and his trot quickened.
"If that's the truth, the what are the stars? And who has time to study them?"
"Stars are...stars. Given by knowledge we view them as fire, I suppose, but our tradition says that some of the great cats appear as a star." Battail explained, and shook his head. He never truly allowed his geeky side to show through, only when he was with his tom friends. As he passed the fellow she cats, he threw winks at them. Rabbitbitten rolled his eyes at his friend's antics, but even Rabbitbitten was a bit girl crazed. "I don't know why I'm even talking to you about this...especially when there's more important matters to handle." Battail purred, catching a familiar sandy pelted she-cat.
"Sandblood, huh?" Rabbitbitten stared ahead at the two she cats. He put his muzzle into the air. "Your head's in the clouds, huh? She's definitely out of your league."
"Another lesson you're going to learn from me?" Battail whispered as they watch the two from a distance. "Try and try and try until you succeed." He winked. Rabbitbitten chuckled, flicking his tail, and his eyes wandered to another tom a few lengths away from them. The Egyptian Mau was clawing at a tree. With the way his lean body grabbed at the tree, he appeared larger than the other cats. His tail had always been a bit longer than the others, making him appear awkward, but nonetheless he did have friends who didn't judge him.
"Hey Limestripe!" Battail called, Rabbitbitten following behind. The tom became startled, and he dropped to his four paws, his fur bristling until he realized that it was only his two trusted friends. Limestripe allowed his guard to go down, and he swished his long tail.
"What do you want?"
"I think the question is...what are you doing?" Rabbitbitten answered.
"Huh?" Limestripe twitched his nose. "Oh! I-um, uh--I was-nothing. Just...watching birds." He shrugged.
"There's not birds in that tree, Limy." Battail snickered.
"Don't call me that!" Limestripe rolled his eyes, and he looked back towards the small tree. More of a shrub really. It was dazzled with gorgeous flowers, but too high--well, the specific one that the tom wanted. He then looked back at his friends, brushing past them as he saw the familiar she cats. He felt his heart pacing, and hoped that Hazelfang hadn't seen him do anything...weird. "We should talk to the girls." He shrugged, changing the subject and making his voice nonchantlant.
Rabbitbitten gave Battail a knowing look, but Battail didn't get the hint. Instead the tom shouted, "Hey girls! What's up!"
"We could just walk to them you know." Limestripe said through clenched teeth as the three bounded over to their other two friends.

"I am fine." she replied with a dip of her head and a smile. "I see you have been doing well, Windrunner. How has the hunting been?" she asked, her beaming green eyes alight with friendly kindness. "I hope the rabbits haven't been too fast." she chuckled slightly.

Windrunner puffed out her chest slightly. "For me?" She laughed. "Never!" She relaxed, stretching out in the warm sunshine with a purr. "I was about to go for a run- would you like to join me?" She inquired.

Frogsnarl smiled and nodded. "I'd like that." she said, and stood up, smiling. Her white and grey pelt ruffled as she stood, and she got ready to stepp out the clearing into the territory.

As they made their way back into camp, Nettlebreeze shrugged as she placed the mouse and squirrel down into the fresh-kill pile. "Usually rabbit, but I'm not a picky eater so it doesn't really matter to me," The bengal she-cat replied, looking over at Shadefoot. "Though you could choose if you wanted."

Windrunner laughed, slightly. She stepped out, and began running down the path.

Re: WindClan Territory
Quailpaw was out in the territory, hunting. She had been sneaking around camp all day trying to figure out what to do. Of course, when Quailpaw was bored, she had to go do something to keep her busy. And, with the warriors in camp telling her to knock off her attitude around them, Quailpaw couldn't stand being in camp any longer. She hated getting scolded, it hurt her pretty bad. Especially with how her mother was. The tabby shook out her fur, trying not to remember those horrible times. She was older now. She didn't have to listen to those snotty warriors. Besides, she had friends who loved and cherished her. So she was good. Little did Quailpaw know that this bright day, might bring some unhappy moments.

Frogsnarl followed, smiling and laughing along with her, her green eyes alight with a friendly play, competition made her speed up, laughs escaping her maw, her grey and white pelt ruffling in the wind. She bounded and jumped and had fun, running alongside Windrunner.
