Re: ShadowClan Highbranch
[ @ Bella~ ]
Teapaw flicked his tail and smiled softly, wishing that his childhood friend could ha be seen this. The newly made apprentice flicked his ear and looked at his mentor, his deputy, and smiled even wider. The snowshoe padded forward and touched his mentors nose, not needing to crane his neck to do so. He was almost taller than a 9 moon apprentice, unlike most other newly made apprentices there was no need to go up on his tippy toes to touch his mentors. His blue orbs flickered with excitement as he stepped back and dipped his head, he couldn't wait to begin.
[ @ The Eye Of The Storm ]
The ginger tabby flicked his tail and hoped forward, his amber eyes sparked with joy. Today had finally happened, he had been waiting for it to come, the day he was finally old enough to go out and explore, go out and smell all of the smells that the warriors brought in when they came back from hunting, he wanted to smell like them. Pine, frog, moor, murky water, he wanted to smell like a warrior instead of like a kit with the scent of milk lingering around him. He stood up on his hind legs and touched noses with Bumbleleap, accidentally crashing noses instead of gently touching the two. The young Tom stepped back with a squeak and dipped his head, emberassment washed over him. Ashenpaw looked up and gave the warrior an apologetic look.
[ @ Ever ]
Sheepface padded out of the warriors den, sleepiness still evident on the Molly's face. She was tired and wasn't expecting a clan meeting this early in the morning, she wasn't the best morning cat, a little more scatter brained than usual. The white warrior stepped forward and found a nice spot near the Middle of the congregated cats to seat herself, making sure she had the perfect amount of room between her and her clanmates. When her name was called her eyes widened with surprise, her, an apprentice? She quickly picked herself up and scrambled over to the Tom, amusement flashed across her face, she new this particular apprentice, and she was elated that she was becoming his mentor. She had taken a liking to Mountainpaw, his positivity was contagious for her.
The pale, golden Tom grinned and lifted his paw, absolute pride washed over him. It had finally come, he was a warrior, he had proven everyone wrong, he could do it, he did do it. Morningpath stood up and felt warmth envelop him, he couldn't tell if it was emberassment or if it was absolute joy, but he welcomed it in the crisp morning. Now all he had to do was sit silently tonight and watch over the clan.

Mountainkit had risen early that morning. He did every morning as of late, hoping that his time had come. This morning as the ceremony commenced he had a particularly good feeling, and he was right to: his name had been called! He was finally an apprentice! His chest welled with happiness and he couldn't be more pleased with who his mentor would be. it was a warrior that he already knew, which made things easier. She seemed to respect him for what he was too, not what his mother was. It made him smile as she ran over and he touched his nose to hers as is custom. Though he didn't say anything past that, and waited respectfully for the leader to finish announcing the new apprentices. Once Halestar was done he looked over at the molly and smiled. "I'm glad you will be my mentor." He said to her, his voice honest and filled with excitement. He wondered what they would start with and where their training would take them. He wanted to live up to his father's name and become a great warrior, and a perfect hunter.

Quickly he padded back over and dropped the mouse at her paws before he stepped into his nest and settled down. From there, he dropped his prey -- a frog. Unlike most other here, he actually preferred frog. He simply thought their taste was better and they offered a bit more to eat. The Bengal for waited for Marbledface to take a bite before he dared to take a bite. However, when he did, he felt the hungry really take over his body. In moments the frog was gone and Jaguarclaw was left licking his paws and whiskers clean. His olive hues finally shifted upwards towards Marbledface. "Good? I know we don't get mice often, so I thought you might like it," he offered a friendly smile before rolling slightly in his nest to lay on his side. At that moment you could see how much weight he had lost over this past leaf-bare. Even if they were a ways into new-leaf he hadn't quite gained that weight back. You could see each rib along his side and see how his shoulder blades protruded from his back more sharply than normal. It was saddening to see, but the Bengal didn't seem to notice or care.

Marbledface sunk into her nest deeper as he left, finding that perfect spot to relax into. She was grateful for his help today, it would have been a brutal effort to finish all this on her own. As he rolled back into his nest and dropped her prey she ate slowly, unlike his hasty style. Though she understood why everyone was eating that way, prey was still quite scarce and the clan cats were only beginning to gain weight again after a long and cold leaf bare. As he rolled she noticed how the fur clung to his bones rather than strong muscles, though it didn't strike her as strange or unhealthy. Everyone looked like that right now, herself included. She was especially thin as she hadn't been good at hunting when she'd left the clan injured. Though her pride needed repair. "Thank you." She mumbled to him once she had finished the mouse. "It was delicious." She smiled, the went to grooming herself quickly before bed, licking the side of her paw and running it over her face. At least the snow was pretty much completely off the forest floor now. The warm weather would soon return and life would be easy once again.

Re: ShadowClan Clearing
The Clearing was the perfect place for the newly named Smokestorm to 'hang out.' He loved sitting around doing, well, close to nothing... just being on his own most of the time. So why, then, did Smokestorm seem so tired during the day? He was absolutely exhausted, to be honest. At 15 moons of age and with a thick pelt, the young tom tended to get overheated during the day. Though technically his age had nothing to do with that. It was the weather, mostly. This was his second green-leaf, and he wasn't loving it. Last time he had been oh, four moons old and his had hated it then too. Wolfglare had been helping him with his hunting, despite both of them being warriors, because to be honest... Smokestorm felt as though he shouldn't really be a warrior. He wasn't good at hunting. Nor fighting. Though, when it came down to it, fighting was a stronger point for him then hunting was. And yet he would do anything to avoid a fight. No matter what the cost might be. Now, Smokestorm had met quite a few cats through his apprentice moons. Some were gone now, like Crimsonmoon and Firepaw. And others? They were still there. His family, Morningpaw... at least the tom had been Morningpaw the last time they had talked, but Smokestorm felt as though he had seen the cat at his ceremony... and there was Leopardpaw, another friendly apprentice. And Ivythorn. Ivythorn was a cat he hadn't seen in quite some time. To be honest, Smokestorm missed her, and found himself looking around for the multi-colored feline even while he was resting now.

It had only been a few nights ago that they were appointed the clan healer but it was still surreal. Of course of all things they would be given the task that interacted with Starclan the most. The thought left a bitter taste in their mouth and they decided to ignore it. They hadnt seen one of their brothers since they had moved dens, it was lonely in the medicine cat den contrast to the apprentices den where apprentices laid huddled close to eachother, giggling in the night over stories and gossip, sharing news about their training and how their mentor whats a burr in their pelt. Theyd miss that. Another strike for Starclan. So they slipped into the clearing, tail twitching and ears flickering as their gaze wandered around the clearing and listening to any gossip they heard. Their eyes went into slits as they saw a group of apprentices past. Here I am stuck in a smelly den with herbs and sick cats. They didnt really have a chose, they supposed. Theyd make sure they were the best damn med cat shadowclan has seen. Though it was hard when every living moment you closed your eyes you say your father dying, flashes or graphic seens, and or night terrors. It was something that Daypaw had to live with. They tasted that bitter taste in their mouth again. They spotted their brother, Canarypaw. They hadnt spoken since Daypaw moved dens. Would he think different of them now they were on different paths ? Hopefully not, or Daypaw would only grow more bitter.

Canarypaw was sitting in the clearing, his green eyes flicking about,
clearly looking for something. Or someone. Upon spotting Daypaw, Canary's eyes lit up and he bounded over to his sibling. The golden apprentice had been looking for Daypaw all over, wanting to congratulate them. Of course, Canarypaw would've been looking for his sibling anyways, but their new rank was just an added bonus in his mind. "Daypaw! Congratulations on becoming the Medicine Cat! I know Starclan chose well, you'll do great." Canarypaw purred, flicking them lightly with his tail. "I bet dad's up there watching us, and he must be very proud of you." Canarypaw had always had a firm belief in Starclan, ever since he was kit. He knew that his sibling didn't have... much of a belief in their ancestors above, but Canarypaw supposed that Daypaw's unbelief would slacken as they got used to being a medicine cat. Even if that didn't happen, Canarypaw would always love them, no matter what. "So, how's the first day going? I bet it's a little stressful,
but I know you can handle it." Canarypaw purred, always the one to look on the bright side. "Healed any major injuries?" It was more of a rhetorical question, and Canarypaw knew that Daypaw wasn't that experienced in herbs yet, but anything to keep a conversation going, right?

"Fine." he muttered. He had really wanted to learn a battle move or two, but his mentor was right - he was pretty tired. He padded over to the apprentices' den.

Re: ShadowClan Apprentices' Den
Puddlepaw padded into the apprentices' den, just like his mentor, Trouttravel, had told him to do. He had been working on his hunting skills. "Better get some rest." Trouttravel's mew echoed in his mind. He settled down in his nest and slowly drigted to sleep.

Cloverwhisker smiled at her new apprentice. Oh she was so adorable, she gave his forehead a gentle lick and pulled her head away. The deputy was a short cat as it was, so they were about the same height. She grinned wider and whispered to him "I'm excited to have you as my apprentice!"

Slinking through the entrance, a vole in her jaws, a young calico padded to the fresh kill pile. Ivythorn hoped nobody had realized she was missing for a moon, and simply acted as if she had never left. She padded up to Smokestorm, unaware of his name change. "Hey Smokepaw," she said quietly. She was a bit more outgoing now, but still preferred to stay hidden away in the shadows. It was just... She had missed the dark colored tom. She didn't know why, however. He was just such a good friend.
