"The clans have been around for many many moons, before we can even count back to the beginning. ThunderClan, known for their fierceness in battle and bravery. WindClan, known for their swift movements and overall loyalty to the clan they call home. SkyClan, now known for their agility and determination. Riverclan, known for their cleverness and strength- and ShadowClan, known to be wily and proud. You may know all these, as the clan may teach you these during your kit-hood. However, some of these are wrong. RiverClan cat's are strong- but only in the water, any normal cat on land can take the strongest RiverClan cat down easily... that being said, ShadowClan can be considered a clan very true to their founding values. We tend to be proud of what we have done and accomplished, and there is nothing wrong with that.

As long as we stay true to the code there is no wrong in being proud, or doing what we have to do to keep our clan safe. Do you know what the warrior code states?" Halestar asked, before quickly moving on. "If not, I will teach you that shortly. To answer your questions, RiverClan cats do indeed swim very well- like otters. WindClan cats are very swift and quick with their movements, so I suppose you could say they are like the wind."
Onyxpaw listened with great interest, his ears swiveling at every word and leaning forward as if he could better hear Halestar. As a kit, he had heard of the other clans being mentioned. Though, he heard of them in bad terms. His mother hadn't spoken very highly of RiverClan, and he'd only heard the other clans being mentioned briefly. He had immediately assumed the other clans were on bad terms with ShadowClan. But SkyClan, he hadn't ever heard of until after the battle that killed his mother. He despised this clan with a passion. After all, if SkyClan hadn't attacked, Blazingnight would surely be living! However, where would Halestar currently be if the evil leader of ShadowClan hadn't been killed?

He tilted his head to the side slightly, curious and eager to learn more about the newest of the Clans. But he refrained from asking his question - he'd ask later, after Halestar told him of the warrior code. Onyxpaw shook his head, answering smoothly, ``The warrior code? I've never really heard any part of it.`` And for good reason, too. His parents never mentioned a part of it, and his clanmates rarely approached him enough to speak. Besides, he was often too anxious to near a clanmate and start a conversation.

Just before being appointed an apprentice, Onyxpaw decided he had had enough of his severe anxiety and the power his insecurities held over him. He came to the conclusion that he would bury his nerves beneath a facade, one of confidence and charm. He was a brittle tomcat, bold on the outside, but weak on the inside.

He had seen his father and one of his sisters, Butterflywing, get murdered right in front of his eyes, but he had only just recently discovered that his mother was also murdered, along with her siblings. Appledash missed his whole family very much. With only him, Butterflywing, and Crescentmoon living to warrior age, Appledash had lost hope for his family's survival. He hadn't heard anything about Crescentmoon, but his hopes were so low at this point, that he didn't even try to believe that she was alive. He just supposed she was dead like everybody else. And now Appledash lived in Shadowclan, a place where he had no family, and no friends either. He hadn't wanted to return to Thunderclan, it would only remind him of what he once had, and what was gone now. Even the name Thunderclan brought hurt to his heart and tears to his eyes. Sometimes, Appledash wished he was half-clan, so he would feel accepted at least somewhere. But no, he was only half rogue. And Appledash did not want to live his life outside of the clans. Thankfully, Shadowclan had taken him in. And Appledash was trying his hardest to prove himself to his new clan. He knew Halestar might still be a bit wary of him, but he wanted to give her every reason to doubt that thought. Even if he did live in Thunderclan at the beginning of his life, Shadowclan was where his loyalty lay now. And he wouldn't betray them for anything. Appledash knew that he might have to fight his old clanmates someday, and he was dreading that day, but he would still do it, because his loyalty was no longer with them.

Sighing, the ginger tom lifted his eyes, casting the green hues around the clearing. He was lonely, and Apple hated to be lonely. He only wanted at least one friend to make him happy, to let him feel accepted. Fat chance of that right now...

@Liquoris { @Empress Of Evil to stalk}
Limping lightly, Brokenshadow entered the clearing, a vole in her mouth along with a couple mice and a thrush under her chin. The patrol she was with had caught lots of kill and couldn't carry it all, so while she did catch the vole, she carried others' kills. This disheartened the she-cat slightly, but not enough to really do anything about it. Though, she wasn't really paying much attention as she walked, so when she stumbled upon a handsome tom she had yet to meet, she was completely embarrassed. See, she'd stepped on his tail, then dropped the prey she was holding, and proceeded to fall on him because she'd stepped wrong on his tail with her bad leg. Would her bad luck never end? "I'm sorry," she said simply, gathering the dropped kill as she appollogized.

Acornstone froze, their ears spinning nack against their head. "Unlike me.." They whispered, mostly to themself. The cat closed their eyes and spun back around, leaping back into the shadows of the camp, sighing sadly.

Thornkit nods tired as his brother attacked him. And thornkit spat "for starclan sake leave me alone!"

It was still bright outside. Great. That means I'm sitting in here, burning up like a fire was set to the den. Wolfglare huffed, uncurling his tail from his paws and placing it outwards behind him, so it wouldn't make him more hot than he was getting. He was still in the shade, thank goodness, so it wasn't too bad. He hated the feeling of heat in his pelt, and perspiration making his paws damp. The large warrior shifted a little bit, into a more comfortable position, and one that allowed his fur to sit out and not hold so much heat in. In leafbare, his coat made for great warmth and comfort, though unfortunately Wolf was not one to cuddle with others. So pretty much he kept his warm pelt all to himself during those cold moons. It wasn't his fault though, most cats were pretty scared of him because of his massive size. "Well, that's why the world is how it is, with all the fights and wars and small little border skirmishes we have. No cat is perfect, and no cat knows how to control their opinions." Wolfglare meowed, his blue eyes slowly scanning the den, but he wasn't looking for anything, just off into space.

"Cats get offended, and then because they are offended, they offend someone else. And then that cat could offend a couple more cats, and it's just a chain reaction." Wolfglare cocked his head for a moment, thinking. "Think of judging like a sickness. Some cat judges another, and then it gets out, and to another cat. And then that cat spreads it to more, and more, and soon enough, you have a crisis in your paws." Wolfglare then turned his gaze to the she-cat, a serious expression on his face. "All cats will judge, no matter what. Some just more than others. I know me, myself, am very judgmental. And I'm not going to deny that, because it's true." Wolfglare was so honest, it was hard to believe sometimes. "I don't see why cats would want to hide certain traits about themselves. I mean, it's their trait, so if you don't want it, get rid of it! But, I know it's not that easy." Wolfglares ears flattened a little, and he got a distant look in his eyes, but he shook his fur out quickly, erasing that moment. At her next words, Wolfglare looked at her like she was crazy. "Of course I would still be friends with them! Why would I discriminate someone for their beliefs?!" He kept his tone even, so she wouldn't think he was mad. But he kind of was. He looked away from her for a moment, anger flickering in the depths of his eyes. Did she think he was some sort of "evil" cat who hated everyone? And right when I had allowed myself to think that she might be different than others... Well, Wolfglare was overreacting, a little, but he absolutely hated it when other cats assumed he was evil just because of his parents, and his demeanor.

Wolfglare listened to her ramble on, and realized he should be mad. It's all opinions, remember? And she's just curious. So Wolfgkare allowed himself to drop it. He never just dropped anything, and it hurt his pride, but he let it go. "Yeah, life would be pretty bland if we didn't have our differences." Wolfglare meowed. If cats were all the same, Wolfglare would never be able to actually enjoy life. Or learn different things about personalities and cat's ways often thinking. The tom liked to consider himself a "personality expert," as he seemed to know everything about personalities and thinking. He was very proud of how hard he'd worked to be as amazing at his hobby as he was. And if cats were all the same, well, Wolfglare's life would be... Wasted. He spent his younger years analyzing cats from a distance, completely missing out chances to make friends. He didn't need those though. Wolfglare was perfectly independent. Oh, you like a cat opposite of you, huh? Wolfglare had this information, but he couldn't use it. The big bulky tom wasn't a matchmaker. Wolf could never see himself trying to pair other cats up. That would just mean more annoying kits, ugh! Wolfglare for a slightly disgusted look in his face, but it was gone very quickly as he listened to the feline once more.

He shook his head a little bit, thinking. "If Halestar wa found doing crimes, she would be replaced. So yes, if you have an important role to the clan, you are judged a lot. That is something you should know you are able to handle before accepting that specific role in the clan." Wolfglare had always known what it was like to be judged a lot. He had never been somebody important, but his parents had left him an evil legacy. And a thick coat and large size. So Wolfglare was judged iff of that. There were just me certain parts of himself that he couldn't control. "I do agree with you there. Cats can be very mean. I think they should be feared more than dogs and Twolegs. But then, where would we get if we were all scared of one another?" Wolfglare face a small huff of amusement. It was faint, but it was there. "And my image? I think you can see clearly I don't care. And I suppose I might be one of those cats who looks mean." The tom flicked his tail over his fur, which was actually pretty clean for how long it was. Wolfglare may not care about his image, but he did care about a clean coat. Not to please the cries of others though. It was for his own satisfaction, in having a clean, light coat. Well, as light as it could get.

He heard her words, even though they were said softly. His mind instantly went to his brother, Smokepaw, one of the only cats in this world that knew how nice he could be on the inside. Lately Wolfglare hadn't been too nice, because the tom had been trying to toughen himself up. But his lovable, cuddly side would always be there. You just have to dig through a whole lot of fur to find it though. Smokepaw wasn't doing that good with his teaching, and Wolfglsre was worried about him. That he might get sick, and die. That he would he bet become a warrior. If the she-cat could read his mind right now, she would find a very caring, worried cat, only wanting to make his brother happy. "Yeah, I'm with you there." He whispered, icy eyes glazed over in thought.

At her next words, Wolfglare rolled his eyes. "Oh believe me, I wish I could hibernate. Except I'd sleep during the warmer moons and stay awake in the colder moons. This thick poof keeps me warm." Wolfglare waved his tail in the air, showing her the "amazing fluffiness." He then shook his head. "No, I don't want her to be dead, I want her to snap out of her fear and wake up. Be a strong leader. The evil cats aren't going to come back. If they do, she's got a loyal band of warriors at her command. But she won't soon enough of she doesn't know how to lead." The dark-furred warrior let out an exasperated sigh. Explaining things could be so difficult sometimes. This tom was not used to talking this much. Usually he was a cat of few words.

As she talked about his moss demonstration, Wolfglare nodded along, agreeing. "Yes, that's just it! Cats change constantly, and so you never will know someone, inside and out. It's all about actions, and words, and more actions and words!" His blue eyes were blazing with an icy fire now. This was something meaningful, something Wolfglare could go on and on about and never get bored. "But what if there was a way to get to know a cat, fully? That's my goal." Wolfglare stood up, his head pretty much touching the roof of the den. "I want to find a specific cat, and know them. Truly all of them. What all of thier actions mean, what they like, what they dislike, what their backstory is..." Wolfglare turned to his moss and placed his paw over it, picking it up. "I want to take all of the moss away, uncover everything that I don't know about them." Wolfglare then sat down again, flicking the moss away, off of his claw. "It might be impossible though. I'm a cat of few words.." He meowed, his ears drooping a little. This was the thing that Wolfglare had always wanted to do, the one thing that drive him forwards in life. He wanted to know what it would feel like to full know someone, inside and out.

What about me? Wolfglare got a small look on his face, something between uncomfortable and sheepish. "I, I don't really want to talk about me right now. Maybe, sometime else." Wolfglare had to remember that he just met this cat. He didn't even know her name. But he found out right then. His eyes widened in surprise, and his mouth dropped open slightly. "Well, uh... That's a mouthful..." He meowed. And he couldn't believe he was about to ask this, but he could not pronounce "Crysanthemumshade." If he tried, he would surely butcher it. "Mind if I just call you Chrysshade? Or something like that?
Chrysanthemumshade blinked her eyes slowly. Her green hues stared at the tom, giving him, at first, what seemed to be an odd look, but nonetheless because a baffled one, until she understood him. It was a first, surely. Never had she heard such a name being called, and it made the tip of her ears heat up. She started to awkwardly thump her tail against the ground at the thought of making a new potential friend. She couldn't believe that finally...after so long of wishing upon to Starclan, that she got a friend. Well, maybe it was a one-sided thing. She scrunched her nose, and realized that she had a lot to wonder about the larger tom. Realizing that she was too lost in her thoughts, she finally mewed, "Sure, big fellow. Why not." She never had a nickname before, besides the given nicknames by her siblings. She then giggled, shaking her head. "Blame my mother. She wanted to name me after a plant. Well, my sister and I." Chrysanthemums were somewhat of a pretty flower, somewhat delicate, but Chrysanthemumshade couldn't agree more with Wolfglare. Couldn't her mother name her after a simple flower, such as a Lilly, or a Tulip, or a Sunflower? Anything of the sort that made other cats remember her name? So, being given a nickname was adored by the grayish she cat.

"Woah, hold on, wait." She fluffed out her tail, getting to her paws and staring at the male as if he committed a terrible crime. Going back to their earlier conversation, did he really just say what she think he just said? Did he really just say he wanted to get to know a cat? All of them? Every single strand that made up who they are and what they do. It was somewhat creepy in her eyes. Like a stalker of some sort. And, though she wanted to get to know cats, she didn't think she wanted to get to know them on that personal level. "What drives you to even want to do that? It's such a weird concept--I'm not judging you or anything, so no need to be mad, just saying." She gingerly slinks back behind him until she appeared on his other side, looking out into the distance outside the Warriors den. The sun was hot, seeping into the den. Personally, Chrysanthemumshade enjoyed the sun. She could recall how her mother used to say flowers bloom with the help of the sun. A lot of things her mother told her, and allowed her to sink in every little thing to remember.

"But a cat only will allow you to know what they want you to know. Analyzing their actions?" She looked at him once, still not quite understanding what drove him to be that way. She figured he was a learner. He liked to absorb others around him, and it was nothing wrong with that. Chrysanthemumshade tried her best to that little delicate flower her mother named her after, but instead she felt like a thorn that pricked everyone until they were bleeding that Crimson liquid. Cloverwhisker never had that type of treatment, which the grey feline could never comprehend.

She took a seat again, allowing the sun to warm her pelt. Though it only glowed on her. She turned to look up to him, taking notice of his large size. No wonder others seen him as intimidating. He sure could play the part in her eyes! She felt a little scared at first, just because of his size, the look in his eyes, and his entire expression. He looked serious all the time, and quite rude when she first encountered him. But now, all the she cat could see was a large fluffy cat that sat around the crowd, and avoided being in it. Nothing wrong with that, right? "Your goal is pretty...abnormal, but I suppose if it makes you happy. Though I will never know what you're trying to get out of it. Satisfactions, maybe?" She asked, before turning away. Surely, she hoped she hadn't offended him again. He was the cat that didn't care much what other cats thought about him. Sometimes she wished that she had that sense of confidence. "I don't think a cat would want you to observe their every move..." She trailed off, giving an awkward giggle to clear out some awkward tension, that she knew she would start. Then, she shifted her weight, lifting one paw up. "If it was me, I guess it would depend on how the idea was approached. If it were a broad statement with a strange cat coming up to me and saying they want to know every little thing about me--yeah, I would be creeped out. But, if I didn't know the cat's intentions, then I couldn't get mad at them." She put her paw down, sinking it onto the ground as she finished. Thumping her tail once again, she giggled once more, "Then again, I'm not that much of an interesting cat to get to know." She snorted. "And, I would love to meet the cat that you choose to experiment on." She joked. She didn't think there were many interesting cats in Shadowclan. But, on the other hand, she didn't allow herself to get to know anyone but her siblings.

The she cat found herself staring at his pelt again. The thickness, and the fur that covered around his neck, making him look like he had a lion's mane. She could only imagine how lucky and unlucky he felt with that pelt. And, his large size. He was probably one of the most majestic toms she ever met. He was definitely larger than her brother and their father combined. Could she even imagine how his parents appeared? She had laughed when he complimented his fur, in a way. Hibernation did sound well to her. She could sleep for all moons entirely rather than the warmer or colder ones. Oh, how her mother would chide her for thinking such a thing. "I could understand that." She commented, and looked down at her own fur. It wasn't as thick as his, but it was a nice medium type of thickness that kept her at a constant temperature. Not too cold. Not too hot. "Ya wouldn't mind sharing yer pelt right? Ya know those cold moons could freeze a cat in time! I'm sure with that thick pelt, you'd be able to save the whole Shadowclan!" She joked lightheartedly. She cleared her throat, taking note of the small hint of her Irish accent that she hated with a passion. It wasn't as thick as it was when she was a kit, but it still annoyed her because she feared that it would annoy others, so she kept her voice softly pitched, somewhere between sultry and soothing.

The she cat gave a sheepish grin, looking out the den, and into the morning light. She got up to pad to the mouth of the den, staring at sun high. The sky, such a gorgeous color of blue as it were everyday except the rainy days, which were gloomy, and grey, and cloudy. Chrysanthemumshade sighed, her mind drifted to an earlier statement he had said. The way he seemingly got offended when she asked if he would be friends with a cat with different views. Her mind caught hold of what he said about Halestar, and what he thought of her as. Initially, she agreed with him. She would never abandon a soul because they didn't share the same beliefs as her. "I kinda wish that...ah, never mind." She stops herself before she sounded stupid. She did wish that the all the clans got along. What's the use of being friends with cats of the different beliefs, yet lived in the same clan as yourself? And, those cats from different clans? Some might believe the same things you do, yet it's wrong to even began a relationship with them. Chrysanthemumshade saw nothing wrong when it came to Shadowclan, and she knew that if she said any of the kind then Wolfglare was sure to judge her loyalties. But, that was the problem. She didn't know where her loyalties laid. She only stayed in Shadowclan because of her siblings---she would never leave them, and Shadowclan was the only home she knew. Where would she go if she did choose to leave? Be a loner...? Surely not! Chrysanthemumshade refused to take that chance. She would stay home.

Gently, Chrysanthemumshade looked back at the time, then forward, and flicked her tail. "Everyone has fear. Some more than others." Her green hues glanced back to look at him, as she wrapped her tail around herself. "And, we don't know that. There's a lot of cats that we don't know their intentions. What if they do come back? What if their is some living in our clan?" She squealed, shaking her head to rid the horrible thoughts. "I just think that Halestar needs some motivation. Some support, which we all are." She shrugged then got up, and padded towards him. Though she could see that she was immensely smaller than him, this did not stop the she cat from getting into his face--well, most likely meeting halfway of his chest fur, but she looked up at him, glaring with her green hues. "I'm sure you have some fears, don't you, Wolfglare?" She don't know why she asked, but she was positive it was true. Everyone had fears. She could name a lot of hers off the bat, but the tom looked like he emitted out fear instead of having any. "Or, perhaps you just mask it behind all that poofiness?" She glowered before she pulled away, swishing her tail to the side.

The way he had described the offending process, made her see a new light. She never had thought of it that wym at, and her brain was plagued with it. The she cat shook her head. Suddenly, she became slightly anxious as she looked at her paws. It was nothing out of the ordinary for her. "I don't get about the whole judging a cat. Others are going to be who they are. What's the use of judging them?" She asked him. "What do you get out of it? It's not like they're asking you to critique them. After all, no one is perfect." She huffed, softly. Yet, she tried to be. Every cat she came across, she tried to fit their expectations. It was a hard job. The hardest she ever done. And, she failed plenty times. Many times to the point she gave up. But her mother, that strong Irish attitude flung itself at her, and forced her to continue on. Chrysanthemumshade pushed the thought down, and looked back up at the tom, blinking. At first she was only analyzing him, trying to decipher everything about him in a short amount of time. She didn't want to stare for too long. That would had been ride, but a couple seconds of looking at him gave her no data to collect. If only she could read his mind, enter his thoughts, or be some type of conscious to him. He was a large mystery to her, too secretive in her opinion. She didn't want him to think she was scared of him--which she kinda was. She didn't think he was that evil. Or, evil at all. His mind seemed to be in good shape, open to all possibilities.

Chrysanthemumshade shook her head, ruffling her pelt. She gave a small smile while looking away from him, and found it, again weird that he wanted to get to know a cat that much. Or, the fact that he didn't like talking about himself. "Yeah', you sure are humble, aren't you?" She teased lightly, but it was nothing wrong with displaying humility. If that's what he was showing. "Do you expect to get to know a cat without them getting to know you?" She truly didn't think a cat would actually allow the tom to know many things about them without them knowing much about him. Wasn't getting acquainted somewhat like a chain reaction as well?

"The warrior code is a list of rules of which every clan cat should follow." Halestar started, looking down at the apprentice with a slight smile.

"Rule one is- Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Rule two is- Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
Rule three is - Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
Rule states that prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
Rule five is - A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Rule six is that newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their
warrior name.
Rule seven can be said that a cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
Rule eight is that the deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
Rule nine states that after the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
Rule ten says that a gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
Rule eleven says that boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
Rule twelve says that no warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
Rule thirteen says the word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
Rule fourteen states that an honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
And the last rule of the code is that a warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet."

The leader cleared her throat and looked at the cat, a small smile on her face. "This code was granted upon us by our warrior ancestors, and it helps keep our clan's running in the right direction. Each one has a purpose in our day-to-day life. However, sometimes it is necessary for them to be broken, but these are in some rare circumstances." She explained.

"But that apprentice-ever since she has walked into my den she has been harassing me, Halestar." it took alot for them to admit they needed help, but frankly if they dealt with Auttumpaw Daypaw felt they would rip the apprentices pelt off with their own claws. "She told me Im going to die alone, Im not good enough, I dont deserve anything," a deep shaky breath,"that Im stupid,t-that..." another deep breath,"that Im a freak for not being a 'normal' gender." their voice felt small when telling the last part. "I know Im not good enough, that I mess up everyday but I dont need some stuck up apprentice harassing me and telling me so. It hurts." They were meerly an apprentice, while they may have acted older for their age, blunt and realistic, but they were still young. They were still a young apprentice themselves, dealing wtih bitter words and negative things that could scar thrown at them like they didnt get enough of that when they slept. "I dont k-now if I can handle her alone."

Halestar listened, and halfway through the leader stood and walked to the apprentice, wrapping her tail around Daypaw. "Well, it is quite rude of Autumnpaw to say such things- especially to the cat that could one day save their live. I am sorry that you are dealing with this issue... I truly am. I will do whatever I can to make sure its dealt with." The leader looked down at them and sighed faintly. "You are good enough, you just need some more training- and your knowledge will expand in due time- with StarClan guiding your path. After all, they did help me choose you, Daypaw."

The leader sighed faintly and looked towards the entrance of her den before looking back at Daypaw. "You deserve everything StarClan has given you, you have given ShadowClan hope back after what happened with Kestrelberry. You will do great things for our clan, I can promise that. Autumnpaw will regret the words they said in due time."
