She knew things must be overwhelming for the younger she-cat, she knew how that felt and wanted to help her through it. She planned on giving her plenty of time to grieve before pushing her back into training. When she couldn't find the apprentice she decided she would grab something to eat, she hadn't ate yet and she would eat and wait to see if her apprentice would show up. She didn't want to push her or annoy her too much, she could still imagine the coldness in Caracalpaws eyes during the ceremony.

With a scowl resting on her face, an Abyssinian padded slowly out of the Apprentice’s Den. Her head drooped and her tail dragged along ground with each step that she took. It was quite clear to see that Caracalpaw was ‘not in the mood’ to do anything. She sent sharp glares at every cat that she passed and snarled when someone spoke to her. Perhaps the death of her former mentor had affected her more than anyone would’ve thought. The she-cat would never had thought she would turn out like this if she’d lost Shrikecall, but she’d surprised herself by doing so. But then again, the apprentice had never thought of her former mentor dying. She had known well that he had been one of the oldest cats in the clan, but that hadn’t ever brought her to think of anything death related.
Everyone was bustling around camp and getting on with the usual duties. Cheerful smiles were exchanged and words were let out. It seemed that this was just another normal day. The camp was bright and happy and no one seemed to even think about their recent loss. They were all just enjoying the happiness that life had to give. But not Caracalpaw. The scent of death lingered in the air, even though no one else could sense it. It probably wasn’t even actually there, but she could scent it. Caracalpaw felt as if the whole world had suddenly become dark and gloomy. There was no bright light to save her and she was just drowning.
It was strange, knowing that you’d just lost your only true friend. The only cat that had treated her with respect and almost been a fatherly figure to her. Now they were gone. Never before had Caracalpaw thought that she could be so sad, but apparently it was possible.
Her eyelids drooped slightly and her cheek fur was damp. The she-cat had managed to only have a wink of sleep. She had spent the majority of the night right next to Shrikecall’s dead body before she had said her last goodbyes and walked off to the apprentice’s den. By the time she had done so, the sun was starting to rise. Caracalpaw didn’t feel like doing anything today, but she knew that she had to. It was her duty to train and learn as much as she could from her new mentor. She didn’t like her new mentor one bit, but she had no choice. If she wanted to be the best warrior that she could possibly be, then she would have to talk to Onyxwhisper and train with her.
As the she-cat reached the middle of the camp, she took a brief moment to look around for her mentor. There she was, sitting down close to the fresh kill pile. Her yellow hues darkening once more, she put on an even colder expression and padded towards the deputy. "You wanted to talk to me?” She questioned quietly, using a tone that made her sound dangerous. Although, she was feeling quite dangerous. Caracalpaw felt as though anyone who dared to anger her even the slightest bit would get themselves a well deserved blow to the head.
-----
Sitting by herself with a scowl resting upon her features, was Winterwisp. The warrior sat in a spot away from everyone else. This was the only quiet spot that she had managed to find. Everywhere else was either filled with cats bustling and chatting around or too close to cats that were also being noisy. Her pale green hues were narrowed as she watched everyone else moving past her. Why do they all have to be so noisy all the time? Winterwisp thought, looking around with annoyance flashing in her gaze. This particular black and white she-cat wasn’t very friendly with her clan mates. Let’s just say that being bullied for so long could really take a toll on her. Now she was just bitter and cold. There were times where some cats could calm her down and bring out the side hidden at the very bottom of her heart, but that only happened on the rare occasion. The she-cat had so many reasons as to why she should be so mean, so many that her mind was constantly a blur when she was questioned about her sourness. For one, she didn’t think it was fair that she was treated so meanly in her past, so why shouldn't everyone else? It just wasn’t fair. And for two, she didn’t want anyone getting close to her. She just wasn’t one for cats to cling onto her. Whenever she came across one of those oblivious and clingy cats, she always found herself struggling to get rid of them. It was annoying and just a waste of her time. She didn’t need any cat to waste her time. There was only a very, very, very small amount of cats that she didn’t consider to be a waste of her time every time she had a chat with them. However, that amount was indeed tiny. In fact, that amount consisted of about only one cat. Winterwisp often had troubles when it came to making friends, but even so she wasn’t very keen on the idea of it.
Sighing and pushing back all of her thoughts, Winterwisp scanned the camp once more. The she-cat was constantly checking to make sure that no one ever got to close to her. After all, she wouldn’t want that to happen. Nope, not one bit. But sometimes, somethings just couldn’t be avoided. She was about to close her eyes for a short moment when suddenly, a cat popped into view. It was a tom. He was a tan tabby with light blue eyes. The sight of this cat is hurting my eyes, she thought, her lips curling back to reveal a snarl. Perhaps she would be able to scare this cat away. Hopefully. She didn’t exactly like having to use her words to get rid of someone, that just took too much time. However not everyone was the obedient, weak little cat that she would always wish them to be.

He perked up with the apprentice spoke, a proud grin brightening his features at her words. "Thanks!" He meowed, his chest puffing out slightly as if she was congratulating him on his own kits. "I'm really excited. I heard it's a tom... not that I don't like she-cat, I love Moonpaw, it's just exciting to have a nephew now," He meowed, stumbling a bit in his excitement. "And this makes Moonpaw a big sister, but technically she doesn't know yet. It's a surprise. I'll actually be bringing him around to the medicine den later to see M, since she can't exactly go to see him yet, so you could probably the little guy then.
At her next few words, he had to pause to think. "Marigold for sure, and some other herbs like thyme. Oh! I definitely need to find borage since new-leaf is here and there will be quite a few new litters soon. Cobwebs could use restocking too." He laughed a bit. "Basically, if you find a herb let me know. We could use anything we find to be honest."
|
Feather looked up at him and smiled at his enthusiasm. He seemed so proud of his nephew he hadn't met, and compared to what he was as like when Moonpaw was rushed to his den, Feather was reminded that there was another side to this cat that she had yet to explore. She'd overheard from other cats that he had gone through some rough stuff in his earlier moons, and Featherpaw couldn't help but be curious as to what it was. But then again she didn't want to bring up any hurried feelings or memories, although the young cat felt that he had bottled it all up inside, which could not be good for him.
Featherpaw nodded with a smile. "Okay, I'll keep an eye out." She assured him kindly, her blue eyes flicking to the ground once more as she looked for both holes and herbs. "I hope it's still there, you never know with twolegs." Featherpaw added with a laugh, glancing back up at her friend.

Re: WindClan Clearing
@ laurel
A tabby slunk into the clearing, her ears down and tail lashing angrily. Halflash had been out in the terrirtory, hunting, and her dark side seemed to have taken over out there. Half come on, be happy! It was just a little rabbit that got away, nothing to be angry about. I mean, you did kind of tear up that decent starling in anger, but hey, that's okay! Halflash snorted in amusement at her light side's feeble attempt to push the dark side away. "I didn't come back with any prey Light. So just drop it. I don't know how you can be so happy all of the time." Halflash flopped to the ground, a malicious glare overtaking her yellow and blue eyes. Excuse me, but I am you. And right now, I think Dark has had a long enough turn. I mean, look at you! No cats going to want to talk to you with that face sitting on your beautiful features. The feline snorted in mock amusement. "Good."
Oh, come on.... You know you're pretty! You should be out there in the camp, meeting everyone, talking to all of them, being kind." Light's voice emphazized on the word "kind". Halflash simply shook her head. "Get outta here Light. I'm done with you!" She flicked her tail, studying the two different shades of color on it. You can't get rid of me. Again, I am you. Halflash growled in frustration. She hated when she was pestered by her light side. But that was only her dark side thinking.

Onyxwhisper was finishing up a small mouse when she spotted Caracalpaw, she frowned as she saw the young she-cat moping about camp. She could feel the anger, sadness and coldness coming off of her. Green hues met with the yellow ones, light meeting the darkness. Onyxwhisper knew how Caracalpaw was feeling, she recognized the sadness and anger. Onyxwhisper knew that sadness and anger for many moons before she joined Windclan, the black she-cats ears perked as the Abyssinian stalked closer. The deputy didn't seem to the bother by the tone of the younger cats voice, only her ears twitched in response. "Yes, would you like to go for a walk? Or would you rather talk here?" She mewed in a gentle but firm tone. Although she knew what the apprentice was going through she wasn't going to let her push her around. She would help Caracalpaw through the grieving but she wasn't going to let her sulk around camp all day, that was no way to live. Onyxwhisper wasted so many years sulking and being angry at every cat, until she sucked it up and forced the changed that she had been waiting to happen. She was determined to not let Caracalpaw waste her life on anger and sadness.

Yewclaw saw a warrior and taunted,"Hey wimp. You barely look like you can fight a rabbit." He laughed

Tigergrowl paid no attention to Yewclaw, thinking he wasn't talking about him. He was no wimp, he could easily take on the best of warriors in this clan. He didn't look his way.

Tigergrowl heard his remarks and rolled his eyes. "Its dumb to think I won't turn around and rip your fur off." He growled and bit into the rabbit he was eating. He did not want to fight, but he would teach this cat the learn his place if kept it going.

Yewclaw snorted," Well, its to earn my ranks of respect." He glared at Tigergrowl flicking his tail back and forth impatiently," Heck if I do this I'll be deputy." He innocently licked his back paw.

He sighed, turning around to face him, he looked dead serious. "If you really believe that, then you're the dumb fool." He said. "I'm not going to fight you." He said calmly cold. "It wouldn't be fair for you. I would win before it would even start."
