It is the year 1856, midway into the transition from Industrial to Arcana. Thousands of magic users have popped up around the globe, their incredible abilities removig the need to much of the steampunk machinery. But of course, many don't like this. One group in particular has set out to murder the arcanists, forcing them into hiding. Out numbered and afraid most Arcanists hide their abilities, living their lives surpressing the magic inside of them. But, a new order has arisin, a rebelion against the powerful forces of the anti-arcana. But now they have developed a new weapon, a weapon capable of removing an arcana user'spowers. The rebellion is always in search of new members, their scounts traveling from tavern to tavern, city to city, searching for other arcana users to recruit. Each arcana user has a special ability, some necromancing, another the ability to manipulate and create fire. Some can even make illusions of themselves which shift rapidly, making them impossible to hit. Though, new "divine" casters have arisen, magic-users with abilities from their gods, kept up by constant prayer. These "divine" servants are less likely to be hunted and may choose a side, but are often much less powerful in offensive magic, more healing based magic used.
