"Well, this place is already fairly nice, so I can't wait to see ShadowClan!" The calico purred, tail still tightly intertwined with his, but quickly let go of it, she didn't want his clan to know that he was a kittypet's mate, well, not until she was officially part of ShadowClan. Ears perking as she heard a few mews, she gazed in the direction of the nursery and her eyes widened. "Oh my lord they are so cute..." She told herself, watching the kits from afar, she had never seen kits in her life, and it was nothing new to clan'cats, but for a kittypet, who didn't even remember if she had any siblings, it made her heart melt, and thinking she would have some with Goldeneye in the future, not now, after all, she still wanted some time with him, and she wasn't really ready to become a mother, far from there even. "Well, I don't mind staying here, I just need to get used to that fishy smell in the air." She added with a slight chuckle. Examining the dens closer, she quickly realised what they were for, one had elder, one had what seemed to be smaller cats compared to the warriors, apprentices and the other was made up of warriors. "So, I suppose we'll sleep in this den?" She questionned, pointing to the warrior's den, or would they even sleep in one, after all, this was not their territory, not even their clan. She leaned close and licked his cheek. "I love you..." She whispered, hoping no one would hear.

Goldeneye watched some of the kits as he let Bella take everything in, suddenly, he heard her gushing over the kits. "Have you never seen kits before?" He asked in a teasing sort of tone, but he did have to wonder. He had heard stories that kits were taken from their parents in twolegplace, but that was too cruel to be true, at least, that's what he thought. "You'll love it in Shadowclan," he said happily, smiling over at his mate. "You might be able to go and see the kits," he added, smiling, "You'll just have to make sure that the queen's aren't sleeping, or mad," he added, still smiling. He had always adored kits, and had no reason not to really. If someday he had his own, he might be the happiest tom alive. Maybe not, he would have to see, but he was positive that he would love his kits. "I agree," the tom murmured, he couldn't say that he exactly loved the smell of fish, but he knew that he would have to get used to it. "As well as the taste of fish," he added, knowing that most of the prey in Shadowclan territory had probably drowned or had whatever happen to them, while the others probably escaped farther up. Either way, no cat would be going to their territory to hunt, no way at all. It was too risky, and he didn't want to lose anymore cats. Shadowclan would just need to learn to fish, even though it might not be easy. Who knows? Maybe it might get better once they got back to Shadowclan? And it might even help them when prey is scarce! You never knew. Goldeneye nodded as Bella looked at the warriors' den. "Yes, that's where the warriors sleep," he nodded, "It's very cramped currently," he muttered, "I almost want to sleep in the apprentice den, but that's probably crowded too!" He laughed, shrugging. He wondered how Halestar was faring with all of this, though they had no idea. His pelt turned hot as Bella licked his cheek, "I love you too," he stammered, smiling awkwardly. Why did he always have to get this way? It was his first relationship, but still! Forcing himself to cool down and smile at Bella.

It made Daypaw slightly sad, knowing Lucky couldnt stay in their den forever. Again, selfish. Everycat had a different path. They thought they knew theirs-they thought they were going to be a warrior. They thought back to the mudslide. How they saw their siblings and their parents. They thought how good it would be to train with them again. But they also knew that Shadowclan needed them to put on a brave face right now and be there to heal them. Its their purpose. It made the enby look towards the ground for a moment, quiet. But they looked up to Goldeneye again, the same slitted gaze they held before,¨Can I ask you something, Goldeneye?¨

Her body buzzed with excitement as Daypaw talked about helping her build a nest and getting settled here, and the shecat began give little hops, unable to contain her joy. "I'm a Shadowclan cat! Daypaw, we're clanmates! Clanmates!" Lucky yowled happily, prancing close to the medicine cat. It made her shoulder sting, but she was too happy to pay it any mind. She looked at Goldeneye again, her green eyes alive and sparkling with eagerness. "What happens next?"

Goldeneye smiled as Lucky touched noses with him, which made him slightly uncomfortable, though the happiness he was feeling overshadowed that. "You're welcome," he murmured, smiling still. He was happy to welcome Lucky to Shadowclan. Looking at Lucky, he smiled, "We'll get you a mentor, and you can start training!" He wondered something, but he could ask Lucky it later. "You'll probably have a ceremony to officially give you your mentor," he added, smiling. "You could get a name change," he murmured after a moment, "But Lucky is a pretty nice name," he added quickly, just in case. He knew that his mate, Bella, wouldn't be changing her name, so there was the choice to not do so, but you never knew. Looking at Daypaw, and hearing their question, they blinked. "Of course," they said, nodding. They were slightly nervous that Daypaw might be mad at them, but they doubted it. They hoped not anyways, just looking at them. The deputy was thinking of anything at all that Daypaw may have wanted to mention to them, but then again, maybe they were just overreacting, taking one deep breath to help himself calm down.

Lucky listened as Goldeneye talked about mentors and changing names, and thought for a second, "I think I'd like having a new name for my new life," she replied, calming down now as her mind swam with thoughts of what life here would be like. Lucky perked up her ears as Daypaw spoke to the deputy and got permission to ask a question, her gaze darting curiously between the two.

Rasberrybubble purred," Alright. I don't think he liked me that much..." she chuckled," I often woke up other warriors by mistake because I couldn't whisper. I was a clumbsy hunter and forgot to keep quiet while hunting. And I got alot of complaint because I didn't groom my fur. And I enjoyed playing in mud puddles and trying to swim in the swamp water..." she chuckled," I wasn't the best fighter either, but I was good at self defense, no one could lay paw on me because I knew how to get away. I thought we could simply fight with words not claws, which was foolish of me. I had two friends then, Monsterpaw- you wouldn't know her because she left the clan during the evil era and joinned Windclan, her warrior name was Monsterheart, though she died being hit by a monster, my other friend was Darkpaw, who's warrior name was Darkforest. He ran away from the clan during the evil era and I haven't seen him since." She sighed," I've also had two apprentices, Cherrypaw was my first apprentice, she was grumpy and trainned in the Dark Forest, but she got in a fight in the Dark Forest one night and was found dead in the morning, my next apprentice was Hazelpaw she wasn't as promising, but she didn't train in the Dark Forest, however; she one day ran away from the clans and I haven't seen her since." She paused unable to think of another story, she wasn't going to talk about her crushes because that might bring up the question of her father, which she wasn't going to mention in Riverclan camp.
|
Eclipsekit laughed a little when she found out what her mother used to do as a kit, and laughed even harder when she talked about her time as an apprentice. But her ears drooped and her eyes widened at her mother's recounting of past friends and apprentices. "Aww. That's sad, momma. You sure no one knows where Darkforest and Hazelpaw are?" she tilted her head, then shook it, realizing Rspberrybubble would have said if she had had any leads. "Nevermind. You have me, now. I'll never leave your side!" Then a thought struck her. She knew that kits were rarely born an only kit, even if they grew up as one. She also knew, as sad as it was, that many kits died or were separated from their littermates before they could even remember they had any. Did Eclipsekit have siblings? "Um, Momma? Do- Did I... have any littermates?" she asked quietly, green eyes wide with concerned curiosity.
(The irony in my post tho...)

¨I know this isnt on the subject of Lucky, but.¨ Their voice trailed off for a second. They didnt know if they should be talking about this infront of Lucky, but the same subject had come up before between them. They couldnt shake the thoughts that they had during the evacuation. ¨Why chose me of all cats to succeed Kestrelberry?¨ They werent angry or anything. But their voice was much softer this time. To Daypaw, they were nothing special. They couldnt do anything right. They couldnt even save their own life when it came down to it,much less other cats. They didnt think of Starclan. They didnt want to believe Starclan had chosen them. They had never been hurt this badly before physically and it was taking a tole on them, they felt useless.¨Everyday I get shamed for what gender I am, or that I could be doing so much more as a warrior, that I could be so much better as a shecat that I was born as,¨ their gaze was to the ground now. This was the most Daypaw had spoken about their feelings to someone. They felt so alone,¨All I do is screw things up. I saw a Shadowclan warrior die Goldeneye. And there was nothing I could do.¨ They sounded defeated. They couldnt sleep. If they did, they were faced with nightmares. That meant body exhaustion and pushing themselves to stay away, over working until they passed out against the medicine den floor. Their thoughts came back to the flood. They almost drowned. They could have if they let the water carry them. They couldve let go of the rock that they held between their claws and be flushed away, and let the water take over. They couldve, but they didnt. They were a coward. They looked up at the deputy, eyes watering slightly, brows furrowed,¨I shouldve died. Whats the point anymore?¨

Bella shook her head at the tom's question. "N-No, I've never seen kits in my entire life..." She admitted, ears lowering in embarassment, she met his gaze. "I was taken from my parents when I was still very young, I was barely able to be with my siblings..." She added, it was a bit weird to say this, due to most of the kits here being able to know their siblings for their whole lifetime. As the calico was told that she would be able to go and see the kits in the future, she smiled widely and quickly pressed against her mate. "Thank you..." She purred, she was definitively excited at the idea of meeting kits for the first time in her life, she gave him a nod, after all, she didn't want to make anyone mad. She offered, her pelt heating up this time, the first time they had slept together felt so right and she just couldn't wait to feel her fur against his again, his strong frame curled up around her, where she felt safe... Quickly realising she was losing herself in her own thoughts, she shook her head and gazed at the ShadowClan deputy once more. She smiled and licked his nose as he told her that he loved her as well. "You know... I really can't seem to stop thinking about you... How your pelt grows warmer when I show you affection, it's really cute." She laughed, not too loud as she didn't want others to hear her.

"I wouldn't normally say this, Newtpaw, but I hope you made him feel bad. He needs to understand how he makes other cats feel with what he says and does to them." He brought a paw to his mouth, biting at an itch. Once his skin was relieved of the irritation, he out it back down on the ground, and smiled brightly at the shorter she-cat, pride still blazing in his heart for his best friend. He wondered what hos life would be like without her, if he ended up with a different cat as his best friend. He quickly shook that away, though. Newtpaw was his best friend, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

The small apprentice smiled, delighted by her best friend’s praise. “I’m glad you think so too. He deserved it.” She declared, sitting proudly beside him, “Yeah, I believe it was the right thing to do, give him a taste of his own medicine.” Newtpaw usually didn’t speak like this about others, but it felt right to stand up and say the truth - Lobsterpaw was a bully and saying such mean things to him and giving him a scar to remember was the least that she could do to make him pay for what he has done. The short-legged female looked up at Lionpaw with a purr, glad that he was proud of her, which that was all that she could ask for now. “You know, I have to admit, I was really impressed and flattered that you would stand up to him like that earlier, I’ve never seen you that angry before - actually, I’ve never seen you angry before!” She exclaimed as her whiskers twitched ever so slightly, “Thank you, Lionpaw.. It’s nice to know that I have someone to protect me.. I know that I can stand up for myself and all, but now I know that I’m not alone when doing so.” She leaned against him slightly, a rumbling purr in her throat.

Cats milling about in confusion, some bristling with anger and storming off as one of the Shadowclan cats accidentally takes their favorite sitting spot, things of the sort. Really the motion could be quite dizzying if you stared to long, but not for Duskfeather, her eyes would focus on one cat before another cat crossed in front of her vision, causing them to latch onto the new cat passing by, trying to calculate things all too fast, making small notes in her mind that she'd very likely forget if she didn't focus on it long enough. Part of her wanted to slink out into the territory where it was much quieter and more.. Still. Not so many moving parts; while it wasn't dizzying like stated before, it was more so exhausting trying to watch all of the moving cats for her and she was quickly growing tired of it.
Heaving out a breath, the squinting she cat laid her head in her paws, half ready to close her eyes, though still finding herself trying to focus on the new faces. There were so many of them, but what could she expect? This was the entirety of Shadowclan if she had heard correctly, meaning every cat in that clan was now living and sleeping here. Kits, apprentices, warriors, elders, everyone. I just hope those kits and apprentices stay away from me, I most certainly don't feel like dealing with them anymore than I have to deal with the ones that already live here.
Just as she finished the thought, she noticed a new shape moving towards her, quickly coming into focus the closer that she got. A quick sniff and note of her appearance made Duskfeather realize this was a Shadowclan cat. Are they coming to speak to me or just looking for a spot to lay? ... They want to speak with me it appears.
Lifting her head as Cloudstrike mewed out her hello, the sandy brown she-cat would dip her head, meowing out in a moderate, measured tone, "Greetings."
She was never really one for introductions, she found them awkward and when things were awkward she tended to shy away from them. If there was one thing this she-cat hated, it was awkwardness or awkward situations.
"Teach you how to swim?"
The request seemed to have caught her off-guard, making her blink a bit and look the other she-cat up and down. "Well that's a bit sudden, I haven't even learned your name and you're already asking a favor of me."
Laughing a bit, Duskfeather would sit up. "I suppose it wouldn't be too hard for me to teach you how to swim, not much to it if you ask me. Your pelt though." She nodded at the she-cat, eyeing not the mud on the white molly's coat, but rather the length of it. "That might give you a bit of trouble."
|
The cats milling about in the clearing did not faze Cloudstrike at all. Sure, she was easily distracted, but she was used to things moving very fast. The chaos of her mind was personified in the cats as the buzzed this way and that. Each cat was like a thought, some popped into the foreground for a moment before being pushed away by a bigger thought. Some seemed important, while others barely touched her consciousness. The she-cat she'd walked up to registered in her mind at the same time as her question, pushing out the wrong one.
Cloudstrike listened to the Riverclan cat's reply with only one ear. She wasn't trying to be rude and, in fact, didn't even realize she was. Other thoughts were simply grasping at her attention, dragging it away like the mud had dragged at her fur. Her eyes flashed from a tan cat to a grey cat to a tortoiseshell. Big cat, small cat, cat who looked big but really was just copious amounts of fur on a little body...Quite like her. All the cats blinked into existence in her mind only to disappear a moment later, but she knew they were all stored there. At least, one of her thoughts did. It didn't beat it's way to the forefront of her mind this time, but it would win another time, instilling her consciousness with the realization that she could remember all the faces. Then again, all the thoughts flitting about in the molly's head made her terribly forgetful, so just because the faces were stored in her mind somewhere, didn't mean she'd be able to focus on the memories or recall them.
When the sandy Riverclan cat finished speaking, her attention was won over. Mercifully, she'd heard everything the warrior had said and therefore only needed to pause for a moment to replay her words before they disappeared from her memory forever. "Ah, yes... My name is Cloudstrike," she mewed, continuing far past where she needed to, "I'm from Shadowclan. Our camp flooded, you know, and now we have to stay with Riverclan. The whole clan! Until we can go back to our camp, that is. I'll bet it'll look rather different, and some cat's not going to like it so we'll have to work day and night to put it back together the way it was again. Personally, I think the camp could do with a little redecorating." Her mind strayed to all the ways they could rearrange the camp, until a stray thought about beavers caught her attention. A moment later, she returned to speaking, "Right, but I'm sure the mud will wash off," She added with a dreamy look in her eyes, "I got myself stuck in a rather sticky mud pit. I couldn't get out! I thought I might die, but I was pretty sure it was just a message from Starclan that I've still yet to decipher. Anyway, this big, grumpy tom comes up and instead of offering help, practically forces it on me! Then he grew angry with me for trying to teach him about manners. Well, he turned out to not be so bad and I helped his find his daughter." Cloudstrike ended her story there, pblivious to the fact that she was cutting off a portion of it, mainly how she'd arrived at the Riverclan camp.
"So, are we going to go swimming or what?" She sang, quietly. With a flick of her mud-coated tail, Cloudstrike turned and floated toward the entrance. Weaving around cats and ducking from side to side in an elaborate dance, all with her big blue eyes dreamily fixed on the far corner of the camp. For a cat with that much fur, she was quite nimble. With not even a look back to see if the sandy she-cat was following, Cloudstike sashayed out of the clearing and into foreign territory.

Goldeneye blinked, how could she have never seen kits before? His answer was soon given to him as Bella explained she had been taken. "T-That's horrible!" The tom exclaimed. "How can twolegs do that?" He said, his golden and green eyes wide. The Tom had to force himself to calm down. "If we have kits, trust me, they'll be with you forever, I promise," Goldeneye said, smiling at the she-cat lovingly. He knew he couldn't exactly promise, as some kits vanished or died, but he knew that she would be with them for awhile at the least. He nodded as he heard Bella talk about liking fish. "I had it once, and that was by accident," he laughed, thinking back slightly. "I'll trust you on that," he smiled, "It just might be hard to get used to having to catch fish," he joked, "they're all slippery!" He exclaimed, he was just in a really good mood currently, his eyes lit up happily. Everything seemed to be going okay now. Yes, their camp was destroyed, but they could fix that, smiling still. They were safe, and while they might not have a good place to sleep, "I'd always be open to the idea of sleeping with you again Bella," he said calmly, smiling over at his mate. He had felt safe under that bush, safe and happy, all that time ago. "The same with me," the tom laughed, though he felt his pelt turn warm once again, making him want to laugh again. "I suppose you're right," he said happily, before nuzzling Bella, looking at his mate calmly, his green and yellow eyes glowing happily. "I love you," he said quietly, looking at the she-cat, glad he had chose her as his mate.

Lucky perked up her ears as Daypaw spoke to the deputy and got permission to ask a question, her gaze darting curiously between the two.

Goldeneye looked at Lucky, "What would you change it to?" He asked calmly, smiling at the she-cat. "Just choose a prefix," he added, "Like..." he shrugged, he had never been good at these kinds of things, "Brave!" He said, as that was one word that came to his mind. Halestar could choose a suffix, since she was the one doing the ceremonies. The deputy smiled awkwardly, as he didn't really know. Listening to Daypaw's question, he looked at them. "Because you were the right cat," he said, knowing that, while he hadn't exactly been the one to pick Daypaw, he knew why he would have picked them. "Few cats are like you Daypaw," he reassured, "Actually, I don't really think there's any cat like you," he said, smiling awkwardly. "Gender doesn't matter in these situations," he said, "You can be whatever you believe you are, and while you might have done good as a warrior, you'll be doing much better as a medicine cat." He said, hoping that he was saying the right thing. "You're not the only one that has ever had to watch a clanmate die, and not been able to do something," he said, looking away. "I lost a kit during the flood," the tom muttered, remembering Slickkit. He could have done something! But he didn't reach the kit in time, and now he would never forgive himself for that, his golden and green eyes getting a far off look in them, before he snapped back to attention. "You shouldn't have died," he said, "And you didn't," he said, "You lost one cat, but that doesn't mean you can't save others, you were meant to be a medicine cat," he said, looking at them, hoping his words got through to them

"Oh, I don't know," Lucky said, stirring the earth with her paw again. "Brave does sound nice, but I guess we'll see." Lucky listened while Daypaw spoke, her heart sinking. She never knew that Daypaw wasn't accepted for her gender. It seemed like the strangest thing in the world to bother a cat about. How was Daypaw's gender hurting anyone? And what's so hard about calling them "them" if that made them feel more comfortable? Her heart lurched when Daypaw said they should have died. She was grateful for Goldeneye, who seemed to know just what to say about Daypaw's life as a medicine cat rather than a warrior, and she saw his far off gaze. They've all bee through so much here... but they keep on going, she thought admiringly. As Goldeneye spoke about how losing one cat didn't mean she couldn't save others, Lucky looked down at the ground. "You saved me," she murmured before lifting her gaze and looking the enby in the eye, "And I'm glad you're still here."

Re: RiverClan Clearing
@ Sage
Lilypaw yawned as she padded out from the apprentices' den, stretching out her small body. She glanced around the clearing, surprised to see that her mentor, Tawnyshade was not out yet. Was she still sleeping? The young molly had gotten used to waking up to go training- she did, after all, always want to improve her skills. The apprentice found that she complained less about early mornings and constant training than her current denmates did. This was likely because she felt she had something to prove, more so than the other apprentices. She quickly got herself determined for her training session that day, and grabbed a small finch from the fresh-kill pile and scarfing it down as fast as possible.
Her belly full and ready for a day of training, Lilypaw began to groom down her pelt that had become ruffled from her night's rest. She found herself still yawning in-between licks; she was still tired from yesterday, but refused to let her drowsiness get in her way. Perhaps she should go for a quick swim- the cold water would be sure to wake her up quickly- but decided against it. She didn't want to leave without Tawnyshade knowing where she was in case her mentor came looking for the small molly. Plus, it would only delay the rest of her day's plans, so rather the spotted cat sat in wait, her tail flickering behind her being the only sign of impatience as her blue eyes focused on the entrance to the warriors' den.
