Re: RiverClan Territory
Bramble grabbed her tail with him and purred. "C'mon, lets go for that walk."

Re: RiverClan Territory
Quote:
The words Lostpaw said made Badgerpaw feel warm, happy, and welcomed. Wanted. Contented. His yellow hues sparkled as he looked at his friend, and he swallowed as an uncomfortable heat came over him. How could he say anything after that? What was there to say? I really like you. I think... I think I might even love you. I think I do love you. Those were the thoughts that came to mind. Tell her. Tell her now. Before it's too late, tell her. But it would never be too late for Badgerpaw. Because he would always put this off. Wait until the last possible moment to tell her how much she meant to him, if he would actually get around to it this time. Last time he had waited too long and he had lost her. He wouldn't lose her again. He couldn't. So he stood there, watching Lostpaw with his unspoken emotions shining in his yellow hues before he lowered his head and lightly touched his nose to her ear.
"You're welcome."
Somehow, it seemed appropriate, and Badgerpaw had to bite his lip to keep the rest of thoughts from tumbling out of his mind. Yet, some of them came anyways. The ones that he didn't keep carefully locked away where they wouldn't hurt him or her. "You're incredible, you know that? I mean... getting around the way you do, and being as smart and... and as p - pretty..." That word didn't slip out as easily. He felt as though he were choking on it, like it was going to kill him to compliment his best friend. This is what best friends did, though! They complimented each other! "You're just amazing." Now was not the time or place for Badgerpaw to suddenly decide to confess his adoration for his crush, but it seemed as though he might not get another chance.
If this rain were to claim them both, he would regret never getting to tell her how he felt. Bright yellow eyes stared at her for another moment before he kept close to her, his tail around her, helping her to move fowards through this frightening new territory. It was scary. The fact that they were going to a new Clan, a new territory, a new place... everything about it was scary. And Badgerpaw wasn't sure whether they would ever get there. Would the unforgiving waters wipe out an entire Clan? His yellow eyes shone with fear and worry as he looked up at the dark, hazy sky. Halestar and Goldeneye would get them there. He had to believe that, he had to believe that they would. They were going to be okay. They... had to be okay.
|
Lostpaw didn't reply to Badgerpaw, not quite knowing what to say to him. So instead she let a silence overcome them. Her focus went to moving through the flood. She noticed that it was growing easier to navigate, and a relief washed over her that they would soon be reaching RiverClan and be safe, at least for now. She wanted to say something, but no words came to her. So the silence continued as they moved throughout the territory.
Suddenly she seemed to process the last two words Badgerpaw had said, calling her amazing. Her head snapped towards him. Did he really say that, or was she just imagining things in the silence?
"Uh... Did.. did you say I was a amazing?" She felt awkward asking this, because then it meant she wasn't paying attention to him at all and that was wrong of her. "Sorry, I was listening, but... I didn't realize what you said until now. I was trying to focus on walking and uh... Sorry. I should have been paying attention to you."
She felt awful for asking if he had said what she thought, but that was the only way she knew to break the silence without trying to conjure some weird topic from the inner depths of her mind. Her face felt hot, and she flattened her ears a bit as she turned her head to face forward. She felt horrible for asking what he had said.
"Oh, did I ever tell you about two of my siblings? I don't remember them much, since they died when we were pretty young. But I had a brother and a sister and we got along really well. Toad, my brother, always kept mom's attention away from me since she always took her anger out on me. And Petal, my sister, she just told me all about the world. I didn't understand I was eyeless at the time, but I knew that I was lacking the ability to see. No one ever really told me I had no eyes until I was in ShadowClan for a while. But Toad and Petal got sick, and mom didn't try to take care of them so they passed on. After they died, I escaped as fast as I could. Life without them in that place was unlivable." Lostpaw had no idea when she started talking or why. She had no idea why she decided to share a part of her past that she never talked about before. But the words tumbled from her jaws and she didn't stop them. Badgerpaw deserved to know about her life.

He had to practically peel his mate off him to follow after Caracalfrost - Everwhisper was so clingy and possessive! She had once been easier to deal with, before they became mates, before kits were part of the picture. She had been more carefree, less uptight, much more fun. He had considered Everwhisper one of his best friends. And then they had kits. Sorreltuft wondered if his relationship with Everwhisper would've changed had they not had kits. He also wondered if his relationship with Caracalfrost would've been any different if he hadn't started a family with Everwhisper. However, he could not regret his kits. He loved his kits with everything in him, and he didn't know what he'd do without them. He simply regretted the way they were conceived, and he hated that he had to hide his kits with Silverear and Summittail from Everwhisper.
Luckily, he was able to get away from all the drama of family thanks to Caracalfrost. He could act like he didn't have any responsibilities around her, and she would support him. Sorreltuft loved Caracalfrost more than a friend, but he couldn't bring himself to be disloyal to Everwhisper. He believes he's hurt her too much already, and he didn't want to add any more pain to the heavy load. For now, Sorreltuft would treat Caracalfrost just as a best friend, no matter how much it hurts him to hide his feelings for her from her. Speaking of... ``Caracalfrost, Caracalfrost, is that you I see?`` Sorreltuft sang in a tone of amusement, trotting towards the feline. He held his head high, his tail swinging behind him. His green eyes gleamed, and a smirk crossed his face. He always felt so confident and happy around Caracalfrost, but there were those times where she could bring him to nervous stuttering.
``What are you doing out here?`` Sorreltuft joined Caracalfrost, his above-average paws pressed firmly against the damp earth. The wet never bothered him. Though liquid didn't slip right off his pelt like it did a RiverClan cat's glossy fur, he didn't find the wet irritating. He didn't mind getting muddy or wet. Like the marshes of ShadowClan, RiverClan territory was rather marshy as well. And after the storm, the ground was damper than usual. He felt mud sneak between his toes, but he'd only wipe his paw thoroughly in grass later to rid himself of a majority of the wet earth. Sorreltuft flashed Caracalfrost a warm smile as he looked down at her. His heart was racing unusually fast, like it always did when he was around his best friend.
|
The familiar voice of her best friend made the Abyssinian turn around - her sharp golden eyes twinkling in amusement as she watched him. "Well look who it is," She mewed in a tone of playful surprise, her eyes twinkling once more. What am I doing out here? What are you doing out here? Does Everwhisper know you're with me? Chances were, no. She was well-aware that the other cat didn't like her, as stated before, and she didn't much care for the feline herself. If only things had been different. She'd had feelings for her best friend ever since they were older apprentices. From the first day they had met, Caracalfrost had gotten the feeling they would be great friends. And then, at ten moons old, was when she had first started developing a crush on the tom. It'd been a long time.
But it just had never worked out for the Abyssinian, she had come so close before... yet every time she had never felt further away. If only things had been different. Maybe, if she had told him, things would have been different. None of this would have happened. She felt a little bad for thinking like that... after all, she was not one to be jealous. Not one to be unsupportive of a decision her friend had made, but... it was hard to support his choice to start a life with Everwhisper. Oh sure, she remembered what the she cat had been like before. And yet even back then they hadn't liked each other. Why not? It was strange, their personalities seemed like they would click, but maybe it had been Caracalfrost's jealousy that had blinded her then and was still causing her to dislike the other cat. Selfish - but everyone had flaws. That was just one of hers.
"I decided to explore our fishy allies' territory. It's a nice place. Damp. Weird. Different. But nice," She mewed with a smile on her features. Her eyes glanced over Sorreltuft, heart rate speeding up momentarily - but moons of practice had taught her how to slow it without him realizing. Hopefully. Her breath caught in her throat, but stopped after a second. It seemed the more she tried to ignore it, the larger her feelings grew. She wished he had never met Everwhisper. That cat was so clingy! And annoying! And acted as though Sorreltuft belonged to her. Caracalfrost would never have done that to him! She hadn't complained when he had kits with other cats, had she? No. And if Everwhisper ever knew... she was certain the feline wouldn't appreciate it.
She wouldn't help Sorreltuft as Caracalfrost had done her best to do. Though, to be fair... while it was hard for the Abyssinian to admit, if she were the tom's mate, it would be hard to know of his previous "flings." After all, it would make her feel as though he loved her so much less. "Can you imagine what hunting here is going to be like? It's going to be so weird, right?" The feline laughed, doing her best to forget her thoughts. She didn't need to be upset - any time she got to spend with her best friend was a good time, and she wouldn't let backflashes ruin that.
