Re: RiverClan Clearing
@ Pengu
Fallenleaf walked into the Riverclan camp, looking behind for Willowheart to follow behind. He dropped his catch onto the fresh kill pile and began to lick his chest fur, smoothing it down after it stuck up from coming into the clearing. After a while he began to groom the fur on his back, keeping an eye out for Willowheart.
Wow! She is slower getting into camp. Willowheart was faster out in the territory, but now she's slower than than oldest elder. Maybe she is an elder!
Fallenleaf let out a chuckle at the last part of his thought. He was going to say that to Willowheart, but he didn't want her to rip his fur out or worse throw him into the river.
She wouldn't do that. Would she?

Re: RiverClan Clearing
Lilyfall stood nearby the warriors den,
shifting her weight from one side to the other. Shadowclan cats made her terribly uncomfortable. She sighed.
I suppose I should do something
She watched the cats around camp, slowly making her way towards the camp exit.

The short-legged female looked up at Lionpaw with a purr, glad that he was proud of her, which that was all that she could ask for now. “You know, I have to admit, I was really impressed and flattered that you would stand up to him like that earlier, I’ve never seen you that angry before - actually, I’ve never seen you angry before!” She exclaimed as her whiskers twitched ever so slightly, “Thank you, Lionpaw.. It’s nice to know that I have someone to protect me.. I know that I can stand up for myself and all, but now I know that I’m not alone when doing so.” She leaned against him slightly, a rumbling purr in her throat.

Dragging a paw across his ear as hs listened to his best friend speak, Lionpaw smiled. "Of course I'd stick uo for you and protect you, Newt! I wouldn't be your best friend if I just watched and did nothing." Hopefully they'd have no more troubles such as that one during their stay with RiverClan. Lionpaw didn't like trouble, and didn't want to get into any by arguing with RiverClanners. The golden brown tom rested his tail on his best friend's, as if to try and be reassuring. The act sent a wave of unfamiliar feelings through him, and he couldn't identify what the faint, indescribable spark he felt was. So he immediately brushed it off as nothing. "When I saw that Lobsterpaw pushed you into that puddle, something just came over me. Anger. I felt angry at Lobsterpaw for pushing you, and myself for not staying by you like I saod I would." The apprentice sighed. "I'm sorry, Newtpaw. I broke my promise. I wasn't there." The entirety of Lionpaw seemed to droop as his head hung low, looking solemnly at his paws. He didn't say it out loud, but he made a silent promise to himself now; this time, he really wouldn't leave her side. Not for anything. He'd even make sure they got to sleep next to each other. He wasn't going to risk someone hurting her again, and the only thing that will stop him from staying near her at all times would be at Newtpaw's request.

“It’s okay, Lionpaw, you cannot always be there for me.” The small apprentice reminded him, looking up at the older apprentice, “But that’s not important, the important thing is that you were there for me in the end and gave me that extra motivation to stand up to that stubborn bully.” Newtpaw didn’t want her best friend to feel bad for not being there, she needed to understand that he couldn’t be there every second of every day for her and she hoped that he understood that as well. It was a tough thing to accept, personally, because she liked having someone around all the time for her, especially him - it made her feel valued in this harsh world where she was merely judged solely on her appearance since birth. She knew for a fact that Lobsterpaw chose her to pick on because she was both Shadowclan and because of her shortened legs, there was no doubt in her mind. She felt warm and safe next to Lionpaw and the sense of affection seemed to flow through the two apprentices. The short-legged female could see his tail resting gently on her and that made her smile, knowing that she would never truly be alone.
A gentle, calming sigh left her parted jaws as she scanned the clearing out before them, seeing cats of all sizes and colors dot the clearing. Riverclan cats sported different opinions about her clan being her, she could see the looks on their faces as they went on their way. Lobsterpaw was an example of how some of them felt, despite Russetstar telling Riverclan to treat them with respect and kindness. The apprentice’s paws shuffled underneath her for a moment of silence between them before Newtpaw glanced up at the larger cat beside her. “You want to go explore the hunting grounds together to get away from all the hussle and bussle of the camp?” Newtpaw asked Lionpaw, a small playful smirk on her muzzle as she offered. It gave her a few ideas on the small little adventures they could have to make memories from.

"Halestar is older than me," Goldeneye said, knowing that the leader had more moons alive than he had. "She's leader, and her word is to be trusted," he added, as Halestar did organize everything, well, most things anyways. The Tom looked at Bella, "We fight over resources," he said, "Territory, food, those things," he said, believing that Bella thought he didn't know why the clans fought. "To keep the next generation of Shadowclan safe and healthy," he said, thinking of all the Shadowclan kits. Maybe Riverclan felt the same about their kits, however, Golden didn't exactly care about them, as cruel as that sounded. He was focused on his clan and his clan alone. "You have a point there," Goldeneye said, as Bella pointed out if it came from an animal, it's meat. "However, you never know if twolegs actually put something in it to make it taste better or look how it is," he shrugged. "Well, I can't promise that," he purred, "But I'll try my best to keep everything from flooding," he smiled. "And I'm glad that you don't want to go back," he finished, nuzzling Bella, "As I don't know what I would do without you," he smiled, looking at Bella happily.

Jasperpelt liked to try and make others happy, or at least cheer them up... and he had been pretty sucessful in the past. He had helped Lotusheart, in getting over her mate's death... although she was just naturally cheerful herself. He had helped Shellfeather with - well - he actually wasn't quite sure what had been wrong with her, and he had done his best to help Cloversplash with something that had been quite confusing. Though he had friends who weren't as prone to needing help.
There was Mixedfur, and Swallowheather... Minnowblossom... Whisperblaze... none of them had asked for his help as of now, and he supposed they had other cats that they went to for support. "W - well... alright." What better way to give Honeycomb what they needed and have them get to know him then through telling them about himself?
"I - I've lived in R - RiverClan all my l - life... m - my favorite color is sk - sky blue... His voice trailed off as he realized he was running out of subject material. Getting too personal wasn't something that he was worried about, he could have told them about all of his friends, although he was more nervous that they would get bored of hearing his deep, friendly voice stammering on and on. A stammer was definitely not what most cats expected to hear when talking to Jasperpelt, but he was just anxious. It was just the way he had been born and the way he would die, he suspected.
Once he felt more comfortable around Honeycomb, that stammer would disappear... at least mostly, depending on the topic and how excited or nervous he was at the times he was talking to them.

Honeycomb nodded, glad that the tom wasn't put off by their brusqueness. He seemed like someone to trust, and so, their features softened as they continued to look at him through their peripheral vision, a nonverbal sign of their tentative relaxation. Although they were tired-- they would always be tired, it couldn't be helped-- they did as they intended to and focused on his words about as carefully as they could. The air of quiet calm about him was something they would get used to, or at least wanted to get used to; stress had become a companion they knew all too well.
As Jasperpelt fumbled through his very short autobiography, the splotched feline nodded at the places where it seemed appropriate to, not bothering to speak now but still communicating interest. The two of them seemed to have some things in common, and although Honeycomb didn't quite feel like speaking any more, they let a slight smile form across their muzzle, feeling a little less numb and just a wee bit more... aware. That was the word, wasn't it? Their tail twitched upon the mention of the border-- there'd been a flood, they'd heard (Or, well, seen. Honeycomb wasn't always the most attentive but the scents that they'd been introduced to, mingling with their home was a little hard to miss.)
Somewhat sympathetic of the fact that he was slowing down, they lightly nudged him on the shoulder with their nose, shrugging lightly as if to say that he didn't need to force himself; they weren't always the best at communicating, but now was the time to practice. He seemed kind, and there was no need to be unkind; they had done enough of that for a lifetime.
They'd let him take his time. It was the right thing to do, they guessed.

"Well, in all honesty, I kind of guessed that she was older than you because I thought the leader had to be older." Bella laughed before listening to what he had to say over the reasons they fought. "But isn,t the territory able to provide enough?" She asked, there was so much she wanted to know. "But, isn't the next generation far ahead? I mean, there are many kits, and all that, but aren't they supposed to make their clan better? After all, one day we'll all be in StarClan and we won't be able to be with them..." The calico mewed, ears twitching a little before she shrugged. "Well, at least it was good, some of their food is actually really nice, like fish and all the meat they gave me, except that, I wasn't a big fan of being kicked around like that..." She sighed, she sure wouldn't be missing that. "We can't really do anything about a flood, we can't control water and all that." She laughed, her pelt turning hot as he nuzzled her, she loved it whenever he did that, it made her heart flutter. "You don't even know how much you mean to me..." She purred.

Now it had been almost a moon since Daypaw found her half-dead and hidden her in the Shadowclan medicine den. So much had happened since then. She'd become friends with Daypaw, met Goldeneye when he helped rescue her from the flood, been invited to join Shadowclan, and accepted the offer. Soon she would be healed and she'd be able to start her "training" whatever that entailed. She took a deep breath of the fishy, Riverclan air. She was Lucky after all.
(There you go. I'll let you choose whether to say Goldeneye told Halestar about Lucky or you happen to be meeting me. I'll roll with it.)

Halestar walked around the clearing, slightly upset about ShadowClan's state- how they had to resort to living with the smelly RiverClanners. The leader walked past a cat that she had noticed in ShadowClan on numerous occasions in the past moon, however she never really knew who the other cat was. She stopped and turned to the she-cat and nodded in a greeting.
"Hello. I'm sorry but I don't seem to know your name. You must be new to... ShadowClan?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at the other cat.

"Of course," Goldeneye muttered, trying to hide the fact that he was slightly embarrassed. He got like that from time to time, when he explained something that the other cat already knew, it made him feel mad at himself. "Sometimes the territory isn't enough," he murmured, "Or other clans get greedy and think they need more," he added, knowing that greediness was a problem sometimes as well. "We need to make sure they grow up to be stong, so they can protect the clan when we're gone," he said, "We don't want Shadowclan disappearing," he added smiling awkwardly. "I suppose you have a point there," he shrugged, "But the kicking around is done, trust me," he said, smiling at his mate. "I'll make sure of that," he said happily. "I know," he said softly, looking away before looking back at Bella. "I have an idea," he said, smiling and nuzzling Bella, his eyes lit up happily as he looked at the she-cat.
