"Well...I wasn't hurt. Besides if you don't have an unopen wound it can't hurt you, and in battle you're bound to have an open wound." Rosefern replied trying to calm the worried apprentice.

SparrowFang crept closer to the fox. She didn't know what MorningBlue meant when he tapped her on the shoulder, but she couldn't risk asking. They already had an advantage of attacking first, and a surprise attack, and if the fox noticed them they wouldn't have those things. SparrowFang crouched down and got ready to pounce.

Foxdung! Morningblue cursed he had hoped to use signals to communicate his plan of attack to Sparrowfang, but the she-cat had stubbornly ignored him. This sort of thing wouldn't happen if I were deputy, he grumbled internally, his gaze darting between the other warrior and the fox, trying to approach it from the opposite side as Sparrowfang in order to flank it to do as much damage as quickly as possible.

Cherrypaw obediently crouched again then sprung into the air, her paws extended like she meant to snack a sparrow from the air. She landed gracefully and sat up, "Like that?" she asked.

Tigerdawn nodded. "Yes, but a little quicker."

Rosefern meowed," Don't worry. As long as you don't try it on a kit or expecting queen or elder they'll be fine...or if they're injured any warrior or apprentice should be able to handle it." She meowed comforting Mosspaw with her soothing words.

A moment later, Cherrypaw sprang upward, her paws outstretched, landing again and looking at her mentor expectantly. Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes nearby and Cherrypaw perked up her ears. A rabbit was sniffing along the ground, munching clover. It saw both cats and sat bolt upright. Cherrypaw took off like a fox was chasing her, sprinting after the rabbit as she tore over the forest floor. She caught it on a sharp turn and tackled it to the ground, dispatching it with a lightning-quick bite to the throat.
