(continuing the clawpaw avocetpaw enemy/rival roleplay!!)

The evacuation had been hard on Avocetpaw; they'd lost a claw and chipping an incisor, plus a bad gash on their paw pad. But overall, somehow they'd maintained an ever-chipper spirit, their happiness no longer inspiring but out of place. No one wanted to see the happiness in this situation; ShadowClan had lost their home, their whole camp and territory ruined and were forced to cohabitate with fish-brained RiverClanners. Yet still, Avocetpaw attempted with their whole might to convince others that this situation could still have a silver lining, however flimsy or faint. So, once they reached the clearing, exhausted and beat down, they didn't collapse or give up but tried to help others, letting them lean against them as they hobbled into camp, grooming pelts, or aiding kits in finding estranged parents. Eventually, though, they were too tired to go on, instead finding a place to curl up and rest, hoping to catch a moment of peace, and not be bothered by anyone.

Goldeneye had been quiet for awhile, thinking of his kithood. That was a wonderful stage of his life, though it was scary as well. Some thoughts came back, though not very many, the clearest ones were from his apprentice ceremony, and the few sunrises leading up to that. Of course, those memories were probably bound to be the clearest, they had been one of the happiest moments of his life! He had finally left the nursery then, and could train to be a warrior! He had just expected to be a warrior however. Some kits dreamed of being leader, he could see it when they played in and around the nursery, but, well, he had never been one for that. Then he became deputy. He had no idea how his younger self would have felt about that! Snapped back to attention by Bella, he looked at his mate, "Really?" He asked softly. "That's actually kind of surprising," he murmured, smiling awkwardly. "What did you think you were going to do when you left your twolegs?" He asked, tilting his head slightly, as he was curious. Most kittypets had heard something, and he was surprised that Bella hadn't, well, that was nothing now, since she was now safe. "I hope they are," he murmured, smiling. He loved the idea of kits, but he wanted to be proud of them! This deputy thing made him feel weird so often. His kits didn't need to be proud of him, as he wouldn't love them any less if they didn't. "I love you too Bella," he murmured, "And trust me, I'll never forget," he said, smiling still. He looked at Bella when she asked if his family would approve. He shrugged, "I don't really know," he confessed, looking at his mate warmly the whole time.

Unlike the deputy, Bella couldn't remember her kithood, as if everything had been erased, her whole past, she couldn't even remember if she had siblings, or how her parents even looked, the only cat she could remember was the one she lived with in the past, Acorn, he was definitively a nice tom, he had always been here for her, a father figure, always here to defend her, he had often attacked their twolegs to make sure they didn't hurt her, but they did anyway. She was surprised as he admitted that he was surprised by the fact that she was never told about forest cats or the clans. She looked down at his question about what she thought when she left the twolegs. "Well, I felt kind of happy, I knew I wouldn't get kicked over and over again, Acorn knew, and he agreed with my decision, I'm really glad he did..." She admitted and heard him talk about the kits. "They'd look up to you, after all, not everyone gets to be deputy of a clan, and it's a big responsability, just like having a family..." The pretty calico purred, gazing at her mate warmly, chuckling slightly afterwards. "I sure hope you won't forget." She laughed cutely, pawing at his chest affectionally.

Aspenfire sat in the clearing, her blue eyes looking curiously around at the RiverClan cats. She stretched lightly, blinking as she got up and sauntered over to the fresh kill pile. She chose a small fish, raising her lip as the taste washed through her mouth.

Goldeneye watched his mate silently, trying not to get lost in his own thoughts once again. He had a tendancy to just loose himself, and he didn't want that to happen in front of his mate. "That's good to know," he murmured, smiling. "What did you think once you had found, well, the clans?" He asked, not wanting to interrogate Bella, he just wanted to know what it was like. He had lived in Shadowclan his whole life after all. He had never experienced what it was like to be a kittypet or loner. "I suppose you have a point there," He said, smiling at his mate, but what if he wasn't a good deputy? Or a good father? He couldn't worry himself now, but what if that was what happened? He took a deep breath in, trying his best to calm himself down. "I won't forget, trust me Bella," Goldeneye said warmly, his green and gold eyes lit up warmly as he looked at his mate.

Lucky purred at the thought of making her new home in in Shadowclan with her friends, learning to fight for them and help them. "Thanks Skunkbelly," she meowed, "I hope my mentor is as nice as you," she added warmly. "I was just on my walk around the clearing to work out my shoulder. You can join me if you like, but I understand if you're busy."

"I'd love to join you, Lucky." He got to his paws and waited for her to do the same. "If you'd like, I could answer more of your questions about Shadowclan, and the Clans in general."

"That would be great!" Lucky meowed happily as she stood up, turning to begin her lap around the clearing. The black shecat was silent for a moment as she thought about where to begin. Clan life was different in every way from kittypet life, and sometimes it was hard to know what questions to ask. She didn't know what she didn't know. Finally she settled on something she'd noticed. "I keep seeing cats bringing prey into the camp and putting it in one spot in the clearing. It looks like almost all the cats do that except the kits, the queens, and Daypaw. Can you explain that to me?"

A soft hiss came from the corner of the RiverClan clearing as Clawpaw entered, her fluffy white tail lashing as though she were angry at the world around her. Spotting Avocetpaw - the cat she had recently had a negative run in with - the apprentice's eyes narrowed and she growled low in her throat. "Well, if it isn't little sunshine. How've you been doing - cuddling up with your foster family and getting lots of praise?" The apprentice asked. The worst part about being here was that it was her brother's Clan. She hated Whisperblaze. With everything in her, she hated him. And yet he still seemed to care. Why was that? How. Just how. If only he would get angry and lash out at her, the white feline would be happy. But he wouldn't and he didn't and she was furious.

"Did any of your perfect family get hurt? I bet you all prayed to StarClan like good little kitties and begged for them to get better, didn't you? Did StarClan answer your prayers, Avocetpaw?"

Clawpaw doubted it. StarClan hadn't answered her prayers ever, and so the Dark Forest was considerably more powerful in her opinion. As far as she was concerned? There wasn't a StarClan. There never had been. It was a story that kits were brought up under and a story that had been fed to the cats of the Clans in hopes that they might believe there was someone looking out for them. Some bought it. But Clawpaw? No, she didn't believe there was anything but the Dark Forest. And she wondered how they felt, being rejected and acting like there was some almighty fake Clan in the stars that had been answering all their little prayers. Well, Clawpaw didn't pray. Ever. Even to the Dark Forest, and she wasn't planning on starting now.

Nightsky pulled away from his brother, Suntail and padded up to the fresh kill pile to try a bite of fish.

She looked up from her meal of fish as Noghtsky padded over to the pile. "Hello." She meted simply around a mouthful of fish.

Fallenleaf felt all her weight on top of him, causing him to fall onto his stomach. He let out a yowl of distress. When she got off and sat down in front of him he couldn't help but let out a loud chuckle. What in the world was that for? Was she playing. He stopped laughing, flicking his tail around, accidently touching Willowheart's nose.

"I was playing, mouse brain." Willowheart purred happily. As Fallenleaf's tail flicked her nose, Willowheart felt her cheeks go hot. She licked her white chest fur in embarrassment and wondered what to say. "I uh..."

I'll just say that I like him... No1 I can't! What if he doesn't like me back? But then again...

"Fallenleaf, I kinda uh... I like you." Willowheart mewed quietly, looking at her paws and hoping that he felt the same way. "It.. it's fine if you don't like me back, I don't think any toms would think that." The silver tabby added quickly, licking her ruffled chest fur again.
