Woodpeckerflight confessed, a look of relief upon her face.
Moon sighed inwardly, though a short burst escaped her jowls. "Oh, so he's Redclaw now... Then, what's you're new name?" She asked, unable to meet Woodpeck- no, whatever her new name was, gaze for a moment. "Well, I'm glad that he has kits, even if they aren't in his clan or whatever." She said.
I wonder how Navy would react to this? The black molly with white dapples on her back wondered. "But either way, Eclipse, Mercury, Star, and you're father are going to be delighted to see you again, even if you are a clan cat, which of course is completely fine." In Moon's mind, the last part of the sentence sounded a little too forced out, and she found herself wishing she hadn't said that.

Default Re: Dusk Syndicate Clearing

(starter for @starfall @Sage @TheBread for Indigo’s little plot (and then @Bad Wolf I’ll mention you when Phantom should wander over to pick on him c: lol I sound so mean ;w; )

It was another gloomy day, or at least that was Indigo’s perspective as he glanced around the shadowy camp that the Dusk Syndicate called home. Darkness always seemed to be lurking around this place, and it sent shivers down the young toms spine. He wasn’t like the others who resided here – violence and blood make his stomach turn, and the strong smell of death that always seemed to linger around turned his blood to ice. It was rather quiet however, making Indigo’s ears twitch as if he was missing an important part of the daily Syndicate life in not being able to hear. Confusion swept over his gaze and he saw down, wondering what had caused the sudden calmness to settle over the camp. It wasn’t like these cats to not be arguing about something or other, but nonetheless the tiniest hint of a smile flickered on the edge of his expression; no fighting was a good thing in his eyes, and for a moment the young tom hoped that it would be able to stay that way – at least, for a little while.

Only until they come around though. A tiny voice in his head suddenly spoke, and Indigo winced as he remembered who might be looking for him. At this point in the day – a little before sunhigh – his family was sure to be on the prowl for him, Gorse especially. His father had a sinister trait of pitting him and his littermates against each other, stating that he only wanted for them to be the best fighters the Syndicate had ever seen. While Jackdaw and Butterbean, his brothers, were much more skilled at the art of fighting than he was, Indigo simply saw no point in violence, not the way the Syndicate viewed it. To him, violence was used as a last resort, after talking calmly to try to find a solution. To his family, and the rest of camp, fighting was viewed as the only option it seemed. Now overly alert, eyes wide and searching, Indigo carefully scanned the clearing, his heart fluttering in his chest as his nerves locked him into the ground. Please let them be out terrorizing someone else, he thought, swallowing a lump that had formed in his throat.

(for @Zero to Hero )

The feeling of her claws hitting their mark, with scarlet liquid dripping from the cut, a rush of satisfaction flowed through Ayla. She let a tiny smirk twist her expression a bit, watching with narrowed eyes as Ferox stumbled backwards. She examined the tiny cut along his cheek, right underneath his eye, and for a moment a little part of her was concerned. Had she really done that? Would it caught him to go blind? Sure, she wanted to win, but if the first thing she did while apart of the Dusk Syndicate was injure one of their members, she was sure that she’d be back alone in the daunting forest once more. It only lasted a couple heartbeats before her eyes narrowed once more, her amber gaze melting into a liquid fire.

“I hope that scratch doesn’t throw you off your gameplan,” she called, her tone slightly teasing as she yelled across to Ferox, her taunt sailng through the air towards the tom’s ears. Despite the size difference, she was starting to prove herself as a worthy opponent. It was obvious to see that with a little training and guidance in the right direction, Ayla would become a force to be reckoned with. Already was it apparent that she had a natural born talent for fighting, something that little did she know would come into play later. But for right now, her sides just heaved as she fought to catch her breath, her gaze locked and never leaving Ferox’s own. Even though right now they were “fighting”, something about the tom interested her, and she hoped that after this they could become good friends, built on respect for each other due to her proving her fighting ability. After all, she was already beginning to grasp the fact that violence might be the first past time picked by the cats who resided here.

@Lilly @Sage @TheBread

The golden dusted tom sniffed around for his brother, Indigo, his father and other brother, Gorse and Jackdaw, padding right next to him. The young tom knew that it was about that time for the three siblings to tousle, after all, his father ordered them to do it every day. He didn't mind it, after all it helped him shape up and become stronger. What he didn't like, however, was the fact that he had to hunt down his littermates almost everytime the time came for them to
test their strengths. The young kit grinned the moment he realized he found the other tom, his greenish blue optics flickered with excitement. "Found you." he muttered, his tail lashed back and fourth as he readied himself for a pounce. Butterbean knew he was a large tom, slightly larger than one should be, but that didn't stop him from squashing his littermates whenever he wished. "Indigo!" he screeched as he leaped up into the air and landed abruptly onto his brother, laughing loudly. "What are you doing? You know it's time for us to fight." he stated as he looked at his brother beneath him. The white, gold dusted tom didn't know what to think of his littermate, he seemed to be the exact opposite of himself and Jackdaw, he took pride in different things, and believed in different things, often times he didn't even want to play fight with them! How absurd! After a few seconds of thinking to himself the young tom turned his gold muzzle to his father and perked his ears, a grin plastered on his face. "Dad, dad, can me and Indigo go first today? Please pleas please?" he pleaded, his ears folded back and his lip quivered, trying his best to seem pitiful. Butterbean loved play fighting with his siblings, and he loved being praised by his father, and would do quite a bit to make sure he got praised. Being praised by his father felt amazing, it made him feel special, but it didn't mean he would harm his brothers...a lot. The tom knew that Indigo didn't like it here, and he knew that his brother wasn't the strongest, he felt like he was helping whenever they played together, he wanted his brother to get stronger so that he wouldn't get hurt, in all honesty his main concern was his family's safety, and if it meant he had to play rough to keep them safe and strong, then he would do it.

Ferox let out a bark of laughter at her taunt, lifting a paw and rubbing at the wound; smearing the blood across the side of his face. A strange smile twisted the young tom kit's expression as he realized he was actually enjoying this. The blood on his face only made him look a little bit more crazy. He realized that he was no longer afraid, he was actually... excited to go onto offense now, excited to feel his claws pierce her skin. Maybe it's her turn to be frightened. He thought darkly, his pupils narrowing into tiny slits; only adding to his look. There was a small part of him, a part of him that would speak up louder as he aged, that was scared of this feeling; a part of him that wanted nothing to do with this violence. It spoke out against this, not wanting to hurt her, but it was quiet and quickly silenced. The excitement of the fight took a hold of him. He could almost taste the blood, though that could easily be him tasting his own.

Ferox watched his opponent like a hawk, disecting her. She had natural skill and speed, but he had to have some kind of advantage. Think, Ferox... Time moved in slow motion as he thought up his next game plan, and that was when he realized it. She may be quick... but she doesn't have the muscles of a fighter yet. I'm stronger than her. He gave up his sneaky tactics and bolted straight toward her, ready to plow into her with every ounce of strength he had; every bit of muscle he had been building during practice everyday with Cassius. His anger that she had wounded him only added fuel to the fire. He kept his gaze trained on Ayla, knowing that she would probably try to jump out of the way. However, she didn't know that he actually had quite the agility, and that, under his watchful gaze, any movement she made would give him plenty of time to adjust course.

Ayla felt something inside her shift as she watched Ferox smear the blood across his cheek. Some natural instinct, one that hadn’t quite been squashed yet – the need to make sure he was alright. It was tiny and fleeting, but still there nonetheless, and for a moment distracted the young she-kit. After all, she hadn’t been prepared for him to do that, she’d at least thought he’d try to clean it up a little. However, coming up over the edge of that feeling was utter darkness, a black, soulless feeling of the desire to have it cover his fur, the ground, everywhere she could see. Gone was the young, innocent look and expression, replaced by a twisted smile as her icy gaze bore into Ferox’s own hawk-like one. Every muscle in her body was tense as she waited for him to make a move, eyes observing every muscle twitch or ear flick that he gave away.

Though she was agile and quick, Ayla was still much smaller than the slightly older Ferox, and while she made a move to leap out of the way, he still hit her head on. The wind was quickly knocked from her lungs and she gasped, eyes going wide as she fought to get in even one breath. A pounding erupted in her head as she hit the ground backwards, underneath her opponent, his strength advantage easily overtaking her agile frame. With quick thinking, the sandy furred she-kit heaved her hind paws up in an attempt to kick his soft, exposed underbelly. With no regard to either of their safety now, she pushed each unsheathed hind claw up with force – as much as one kit could – using her forepaws to defend her face in case he decided to take the easy head shot. There was no way she was going to let him overpower her, at least not by much. With the eyes of the Syndicate upon her, she let out a venomous growl, her body radiating with the urge to throw Ferox off her as far as she could manage.

When Ferox hit his target there was instantly a feeling of intense acomplishment, especially as the air left Ayla's lungs in one loud whoosh. The first few kicks of her hindlegs nailed his exposed belly, and Ferox visibly winced as her sharp claws scraped the sensitive flesh. However, he quickly arched his back, using his longer legs to lift his stomach a few inches so that they only barely brushed his long belly fur. It helped that he was actually really skinny under his thick fur; and that Ayla was much smaller than him due to being younger, a she-cat, and having been abandoned for quite a while. He bared his teeth, his jaws opening wide as he instinctively went for her neck. Thankfully, she decided to lift her forepaws to defend her face, successfully cutting off his route. He froze at this, and his anger faded in that one second it took him to realize that he had actually tried to wound her fatally. The thought shocked him into stillness, his entire grip loosening as he stared down at Ayla in shock. The tiny voice spoke up, and this time Ferox listened. What am I doing...?

He stepped away from his opponent, trying to hide his shame. Killing was supposed to natural in the Dusk Syndicate, but why did he feel like this? "I'm done," He meowed gruffly, averting his pale green eyes. As the adrenaline began to wane, he could feel each tiny wound. The stinging of his face greatly over-powered the small scrapes on his stomach, but he could still feel them all. Returning his gaze to Ayla, he realized that she hadn't gotten a single wound. "You're very good at fighting," He meowed, making sure the subject would stay far away from what had just happened. Ferox rubbed again as his cheek, and he winced as the action caused it to begin bleeding once more.

(I have a feeling that Ayla is gonna be my first cat that’s like truly sadistic, that doesn’t really care what others think and doesn’t take in regards to others. This’ll be interesting to RP… -cue evil smile-)

Everything seemed to slow down in the moment that Ferox pinned her down, even time itself. Each stroke of her hindleg against his belly fur, lifting her paws to her face. Ayla felt trapped in a timeless “bubble”, her eyes shut tight against the reality that she was, at the core, outmatched by the bigger and slightly older Ferox. Her mind whirled with how to get herself out of this situation, thinking of every possible avenue she could take. Due to being only a kit, however, and having no fighting experience outside of her current predicament, not many ideas came rushing to her. As Ferox went straight for her throat, however, Ayla’s whole body stiffened. Surely he wouldn’t kill her on the spot, right? After all, he had said “play fight”. But for all Ayla knew, that could very well mean “fight to the death”. However she felt his teeth stop just short of his target, blocked by nothing but her tiny paws. His breath felt hot against her neck, and carefully she opened one eye to look up at her companion. Already Ferox was pulling himself off of her, and the weight that pushed against her body – and her heart – was lifted.

“Thanks,” Ayla murmured to his compliment as she scrambled to her paws. Her muscles ached and a wave of tiredness swept over her as the adrenaline quickly subsided. Gone was the ferocious intensity that ruled her body just moments earlier, replaced by a wave of clarity and calmness. Had she really intended to harm Ferox? A part of her had, she knew that. Even at a young age, she could recognize the intent to physically injure another feline, and surprisingly it didn’t scare her. Call it a side effect from being abandoned, but remorse was a foreign concept for the young kitten. My mother felt no remorse for leaving me. Why should I feel it towards anyone else if I never got the same shot as them? she thought, her brow furrowing in thought as she absentmindedly shook the dust off each forepaw. Breaking out of her thoughts, Ayla returned her gaze back to Ferox, observing his wounds. “You’re bleeding,” she pointed out, her voice emotionless and flat as if she was stating a simple fact, using her paw to point to his cheek.

@Aleka @narwhalgirliv [gah this is so late I'm sorry]

Halite padded into the clearing, with a plain expression on his face. Not much was happening within the Dusk Syndicate recently. Not too much drama; the only fights that occurred now were just little tidbits of arguments between fighters and hunters. Not that he wanted drama, of course. But if he was honest with himself it certainly lit things up.

Whiskers quivering at the thought of biting into a juicy vole, the gray-pelted tomcat marched over towards the fresh-kill pile. He had high expectations for prey right now, and just as he expected, there was an overflowing abundance of food just waiting to be eaten up.

But before he could eat, Halite realized that there was an unfamiliar scent spreading through the clearing. It was half-masked, nearly undetectable, but it was still there: the scent of a clan cat. It was rather well marked up. Prey suddenly forgotten, and senses raised, the feline pushed his way across the sandy clearing towards the owner.

Now that he was closer, he could clearly realize that the culprit was a she-cat, but even still- wait. That was someone he recognized, although faintly. (Halite didn't remember her name.) I've seen her in the DS before. But why does she have clan scent now? he thought, confused.

"Excuse me?" The tomcat asked, padding up towards Woodpeckerflight and Moon. He didn't quite know what to say from there- nice going with your awkwardness,- but he was sure that the other cats would realize what was the problem.

@Gusty it's fine no worries^^)

Moon was still eagerly awaiting Woodpeckerflight's awnser, that she was only half aware of a familiar scent reaching her nose. I just really can't believe that she actually joined a clan... The feline thought, stiffiling another sigh. Then, once again, Moon was aware of the familiar scent behind her. She blinked once when she heard-"Excuse me?" In the familiar tone that was Halite's. The molly quickly stood up.
Honestly, Moon had always been a little on edge around Halite. It wasn't that she was afraid of the Dusk Syndicate commander, it was that she always just a slight bit nervous around him. She was always a bit worried that she would maybe say or do something wrong and set him off.
"Uh-" She glanced toward her daughter. "She doesn't mean any harm." She said simply, a detached part of her mind wondering if this was when she pushed him in the wrong direction. The Egyptian Mau wished that Navy was by her side right now, that would case her to feel a lot better about the situation she was currently in.
