Ace of Spades

Out within some darkened trees, hidden underneath the leaves, two wandering souls travel on and on, lost within the labyrinth. The forest lit only by a sliver of moonlight, their stomachs growling and wolves howling. They rested every morning, hunted every day, traveled every night, but could never find the exit they were searching for. The two were siblings, one small and quiet, the other large and loud. His booming voice echoed through the darkness, even when he whispered. He feared it would cause his littermate to become frightened of him, but he had, however, grown comfortable with the familiar voice of his brother.
The small one had the name of Ace, being a ginger tabby tom. He was rather introverted, keeping to himself and allowing his brother to step forward when given the chance to speak. Anxiety coursed through his pelt, making him jump with every rustly of a leaf.
The other was named to be Spade. He was a large, grey-and-white maine coon. His personality seemed to be the opposite of his brother's, but he is more caring and would protect his brother no matter what, and knew it went the same for Ace, much to his dismay.
As the two travel onwards through the forest, in which they find to be called the "Lunar Forest," they meet many others of the same species, and enemies of a different type. They faced many obstacles along the way to the end of their journey, and met very many others to call acquaintances, finding help from those few kind beings.

The siblings strolled along, the path lit by a faded beam of moonlight. Their tails dragged on the dusty trail, paws heavy with a neverending exhaustion. Ace raised his head to look around, ears flattening as he saw a bush rustle. His claws unsheathed out of habit; they were in an unknown territory, of course he would be overly cautious! Spade glanced at him curiously, then turned back to watch the path ahead of them. His stormy grey eyes flashed with a hint of aggravation— hadn't they passed this tree already?— as he slowed to a stop, causing Ace to stumble into his side with a yelp. "Let's rest," Spade said simply, immediately gaining a nod from his brother, and moved to build what seemed to be the millionth makeshift den.
