It was almost as if every decision Shadetail had made since joining ShadowClan was coming back around to bite him in the tail. No matter what, everywhere he turned there was a cat questioning his loyalty, despite the fact that he'd thrown himself head-first into each battle, regardless of how pointless they each were. "What I don't understand," he hissed throw clenched teeth, his yellow eyes in slits now, "is how ShadowClan does not even give me the chance to prove myself." Anger filled his veins as Shadetail fought to calm himself down further. He would not prove his point by continuing this useless fight with Ashnose - if anything, it would prove the other tom right. It would show that Shadetail was nothing but a hot-headed former Dusk Syndicate cat who did nothing except butt heads with anyone who dared speak their opinion on his heritage. Perhaps they were right in questioning him. After all, the doubts still crept around in the back of his mind. How could he possibly expect his Clanmates to trust him when Shadetail was beginning to lose trust in himself?

As Ashnose seemed to be wrapping the patrol up on his own, Shadetail found that he couldn't necessarily argue. He didn't want to be around the tom any longer, and though he hated making enemies in his new home, the tom would not stand by while he was disrespected simply because of where he had been born. It hadn't been his choice after all to be raised in a blood-thirsty group - it was all he knew. By the time he could think for himself, Halite and the other Syndicate members had turned him into a cold-blooded killing machine to be used against the Clans at their will. Shadetail heaved a frustrated sigh and dug up the first piece of prey they had caught, leaning down to grip the limp body firmly between his jaws. "I'll let Goldenstar know his faithful and loyal warrior is finishing his patrol solo," the tom muttered around the piece of prey, not really caring if Ashnose understood him or now. Instead, he trotted forward, consciously bumping against the tom with his shoulder jutted out. With a wave of his tail, the gray tom headed back towards camp, yellow eyes narrowed and paws flicking snow off themselves as they carried him back to camp.

The taste of blood suddenly became apparent to Ashnose. He'd been biting back a response to Shadetail's ignorant words and ended up biting into his lip and leaving a cut deep enough for the taste of blood to trickle out. He wanted to badly just to dig his claws into Shadetail's pelt and teach him a lesson. Ashnose silently prayed to StarClan to give him the strength not to rip the other tom to shreds. I'll play nice for now, he decided. But as soon as this stupid cat does anything wrong. . . "Yeah, go do that." The gray tom mewed between clenched teeth. He completely ignored what Shadetail said before. Either the Syndicate tom would learn what it means to be a ShadowClan cat or he'd leave. Ashnose hoped with all of his heart the second option would become reality. Another burst of fury spread throughout the ShadowClan warrior's body. "You know what? Why don't you add 'devoted' while you're at it? Faithful, loyal, and devoted." The amber-eyed tom called to Shadetail as he padded away. Now more angry than he'd been in ages, Ashnose turned on his paws and stalked deeper into ShadowClan territory.

Ravenflight and Hawkpaw leapt through the trees, watching for prey to come. They spotted a family of mic and caught some hawkpaw almost jumping too far but still catching a mouse by a tail. They grabbed the mice they caught and went back to the camp.

Smokepaw's ears pricked at the sound of little scurrying in the ferns up ahead. He turned to look towards the sound as he narrowed his eyes. He opened his jaws to take in the scent of the creature and was surprised to find the juicy smell of a fat squirrel. This must be rare! he thought, delighted, Usually ShadowClan doesn't even have squirrels! Not to mention fat, juicy ones around the end of Leaf-Bare! Imagine how the Clan would react if I came back carrying this meal! he told himself. He closed his eyes, imagining his mentor coming up to congratulate him, his friend doing the same. He imagined the Clan being well fed from the fat squirrel he was about to catch. Smokepaw stalked forewards. His tail was pointed straight behind him, his ears were pricked for any signs of movement, his pawstep a were steady so they wouldn't make a noise, and his eyes were open so he wouldn't step on any twigs or leaves. He opened his jaws to make sure he was the right distance from the small mammal before waggling his haunches and springing into the air, landing almost squarely on the squirrel, delivering a killing bite to the creature. He grabbed the squirrel in his jaws and sat up, quite obviously proud of himself, as he puffed out his chest before standing up and looking for a safe place to bury his newly caught fresh-kill.

Mountainpaw was able to witness the magnificent kill by Smokepaw. She flicked her ears, glancing up at the sky. Thank you, Starclan! She grinned before padding up to Smokepaw, her walk very feminine and graceful. She peered over at his kill. "That was a mighty awesome kill, you know." She said with a small grin. "How'd you do that?" She asked, the question was laced with hidden meaning but she hoped that the tom wouldn't notice or if he did would understand what her reasoning was for asking him. She looked over at him expectantly. The sleek brown furred molly hoped that the other apprentice would be more than happy to help her out especially with her situation.

Smokepaw turned skeptically to the she-cat that had seemingly appeared out of no where next to him,"umm... Thanks?" he mewed,"How do you not know how I did that?" he rolled his eyes,"I stalked, I pounced, I killed," he then looked around for somewhere to hide his prey, grumbling quietly to himself. As soon as he found a good tree with somewhat moist soil, he picked up his prey and buried it in a small hole he dug in between two of the tree's roots. Then he turned too the molly. Hopefully she wasn't as annoying as the other tiny apprentice that he had had to talk to earlier. That was fun... he grumbled inwardly.

Moondancer suddenly jolted awake from her daydreaming and troubling thoughts as she heard an overly familiar voice. Turning her head, she gave a cat-like smile to her mate. Not exactly knowing whether to get up to greet him or not. The spark between them had gone.. Well, perhaps a bit lost. She hadn't meant for it to go that way. She was just worrying too much and spending too much time on her own. Maybe it was time to change that.
So the molly got up.
She trotted over to Ocelotpath and aimed to press her forehead gently against his side, in a loving manner. No words spoken just yet. Her gesture perhaps hinting that she could use a bit of comfort.
*"Hey there.."* She started, sighing a bit as she peered at him, begging silently for herself that she Tom wasn't mad that she had been absent lately. *"I'm sorry.. Sorry for not spending much time with you"* She continued, seemingly not really knowing how to put words on her feelings.
And she did indeed not feel like she knew how to do just that. She wanted to wail and apologize about everything, about the judging looks she got now and then from other clanmates for having been demoted, for not spending time with her mates and kits. She felt like a mess lately.
Was she not loyal enough?
The whole thing had broken her down completely. But she was determined to get back on top again. To prove herself to her clan once again, to regain respect and friendships. She had just really needed some time alone. And she was beginning to realize this might have taken its toll on Ocelotpath.

The Bengal stood there for a moment awkwardly, his tail swishing back and forth as he looked over his mate. What had happened to them? He remembered they’d used to be so close - at one point, he’d considered her one of his best friends. But it seemed like they just hadn’t talked lately… Moondancer didn’t even know about what’d happened to the kits. Ocelotpath hadn’t seen Mothpaw, or Silentpaw, or even Mintpaw in quite some time now. He missed the kits. He hadn’t spoken to Speckledpaw lately, and hadn’t spent any time with Pearlpaw in quite a long time… he was losing his entire family, right before his eyes.
He wasn’t supposed to have a favorite kit, but Ocelotpath had always been a little partial to Silentpaw - it’d destroyed him when the tom had supposedly disappeared. ”Well, you’ve been busy, I’m sure. A lot’s happened lately. With Halestar, before, I know it was hard, but - but it’s been a while since then.” This was the only way Ocelotpath knew how to say what he was trying to. That Moondancer should have come back to them - come back to normal by now. He wasn’t happy that things had turned out the way they had. The former leader shouldn’t have gotten rid of his mate, and he definitely missed the old Moondancer. It felt like she had changed a lot since that had happened. ”So… how’ve you been?” He didn’t have anything else to talk about with her. Ocelotpath, for once, was without anything to say.
He didn’t know whether or not he should try and dig a little deeper yet, and he wasn’t good at those conversations - he’d never been good at them. All he wanted was to go on a hunt and a walk and talk about nothing with the pretty she cat - but he couldn’t even do that, not yet. Not until he was fully comfortable around her again. Even though he didn’t have as strong of feelings for her now, there was still something Ocelotpath couldn’t get rid of… and by spending time with her, he could either get closure on that or recover their relationship. Either way, everything would be fine.

With a rustle of leaves, Brokencreek leaped from his hiding place and onto the frog he had been hunting, dispatching it with a small bite. He picked up the small piece of prey and gripped it between his teeth. Is this enough? he wondered. The constant tension between the Clans had left everybody drained, and even he could feel the panic and fear that had spread through the territory. With a sigh, he buried the fresh-kill and sniffed the air.

For a moment, he froze. It wasn't prey he scented, but another cat. He sniffed again--ShadowClan, no doubt. His shoulders relaxed slightly, but he was still on the alert. Why would anyone sneak up on me? "Hello?" he called out, hating the small tremble in his voice. "Who's there?"

Once in the territory Berrypaw began thinking again. She glanced every now and then and walked close enough so that their pelts brushed against each other. She remained lost in thought as they walked, thinking of when she should tell him and where she should do it. She ignore Blackpaw completely, trying to make it seem like her presence wasn’t welcome.

Cobrapaw didn't seem to react as Berrypaw's fur brushed against his,he looked around, at this time of the day, it was pretty nice to walk through the forest, it was a little windy, but nothing too uncomfortable, he looked over at Blackpaw, smiling, both she-cats were pretty kind to him, but they seemed to have something between them, he just couldn't set his paw on what it was.
