Redpaw shrugged before giving her left front paw a quick legs, spreading her toes out so that she can groom the dirt out from between them. "I don't understand either, but I guess it's because if a former kittypet, rogue or loner kept their birth name they would make their clans appear weak. If that is i wouldn't want anyone thinking I was weak." meowed the former Kittypet.

“I don’t have a mate...I love a cat!” Silver exclaimed in exasperation. She padded over to Night and sat next to her. “Great starclan! There are no sharks!” The young warrior bumped the other cat with her shoulder. “Don’t worry I’ll be ok. I’ll also be safe.”

Unsure of what he was exactly going to do or say caused her to take a tentative step backwards tail curling on her hind leg and ears pinning to the back of her head, her heart speeding up. The cream and ginger tabby secretly hoped that he would drop the subject but now he seemed paranoid and was gradually working himself up into a hefty frenzy. Wonderful just when I had a moment to relax, this happens. the she cat backed away a few other steps crouched on her haunches before gently sitting down, now realizing she couldn't exactly leave now that he was talking to her face to face and working up this magical what if scenario which made her head spin tossing thoughts of comprehension to the dirtplace. Death was a heck of an over statement which caused her eyes to fly open in surprise, death wasn't even close to the reality of what happened let alone breaking any skin, which didn't actually happen. He was on a roller coaster of pure paranoia and she wasn't sure how to calm him down. Like tumblestep. Calm him like you would tumblestep. Rowanflowers heart swelled and her claws sank into the earth, her mind was quite cruel to her sometimes. The she cat stood once again and leaned forward allowing her tail to reach and settle on his shoulder trying to stop the pacing, ' ' none of it did happen right ? ' ' she tried to reassure him letting her tail drop back down to her legs. Her mothering instincts where quite strong and she felt the need to embrace him, like she would her sons, but she didn't, the fact of the matter that he wasn't just another one of her therapy buddies and she actually didn't know him prior to this. ' ' poor grumpy ol fallenstar would never raise a claw at you, no he'd maybe laugh, otherwise he's just a big softie. ' ' she mused calling back to some of her memories for a brief moment. She leaned forward and butted her head agaisnt his flank ' ' I promise ' '
Before she could open her maw to speak another time she felt the tom poke and prod at all sides like juniperpaw would have done the day she fell into that river and bashed her nose pretty hard. His gentle touch was cold and made her jump and shiver with each prod to close to her bare skin. The flood of questions caused her eyes to roll into the back of her head with amusement and the slightest bit of annoyance, it was really nothing when he made it out to be such a major problem. ' ' look, you barely even skimmed me. I'm ok but the real question we should be asking is if you are? ' ' it only came to her now the warrior was most likely in far more pain than she was right now, a headfirst duck and roll into a tick tree? Even snagging on a few branches and brambles could sting like fire sometimes. My turn. she stepped forward nosing his shoulder so he would turn to reveal his torso the and the sides of his legs for close inspections. Despite not seeing much to take into consideration there was problably a good bash on the head that would cause some damage at some point. Than he proceeded to tell his name, green eyes littered with fear and shock matching her own hardened green optics. ' ' the skyclan fellow right? Was that you or was that somebody else... ' ' fear of not knowing or getting it wrong was also not a nice feeling. Than without another moment to waste the Tom tossed himself into another pool of anxiety causing her lips to draw sealed and discomfort pick at her paws and cause her ears to pin to the back of her head. In trouble again? her stomach churned and she studied him closer from a safer distance a few steps back. ' ' hey, hey, hey ' ' she eased tail begining to lash, in trouble again, what on earth could that possibly mean? ' ' it's just a mistake, no hard feelings ' ' attempting to completely ignore the fact he hadn't done much anyways. Just as she thought it was safe she blinked her eyes closed for a brief and long moment before opening them back regaining what patience she had, though the next comment caught her completely off guard leaving her at a loss for words and stumped beyond all belief. She opened her maw and left it hanging for a moment than shut it again. ' ' to- uh- I was going to patrol- for a little.. Alone-" and than she closed her jaws altogether.

Staglegs was that type to make a little scratch feel like a fatal wound. He continued to pick at it, caress it, nurture it, until it became overgrown in an exaggerated sense. Staglegs was known to over water a flower until it wilted from drowning. Just as he was doing with Rowanflower, making a big deal of something that wasn't even a kitten's claw. He had continued to show his aggravated concern, pacing about until Rowanflower's voice floated into his ears and caused him to stop. He immediately stopped when he felt the deputy's tail on his shoulder, coercing his attention to stare at her. His eyes lowered in a clouded blurriness, and all he could do was nod, solemnly. That didn't stop him from his outrageous exclaims, and even going as far as to making sure a scratch wasn't on Rowanflower's cream and tabby pelt. Her assurance did little to calm his nerves. He never had much interaction with Fallenstar, except moons ago when he first joined Riverclan because he was too lost to find his way back to his origins. ''Heh, I hope you're right about that. I've heard...quite the tales.'' Staglegs didn't really enjoy gossip monkeys, but whenever he was alone and eating prey, his ears would catch hold onto conversations that shouldn't have mattered. Staglegs usually blamed it on the loneliness since he hardly had friends within Riverclan, finding himself desperate to insert himself in some socialization if he wasn't so awkward all the time. Evidently, Staglegs never found it in his heart to talk lowly of the superior authorities. He liked Fallenstar as a leader, and even if he were Skyclan born, his loyalty lied with his current clan. Staglegs knew he should had taken Rowanflower's assurance to heart. She tried to calm him down, giving him a gentle touch, as if he were a small kit.
Although her promise did minimum to satiate his fast thought train. As he finished with his ''check up'' of the deputy, he froze in place when she voiced her question. The real question we should be asking is if you are okay? It was...foreign to him. To be asked such a question. It was the reason why he stared suspiciously at her, but found no underlying meaning behind her words. Eventually, he nodded slowly. ''I'm fine.'' He cleared his throat with a shake of his head. He had nothing to be worried or stressed over. He was almost certain that Rowanflower would had chewed his head off given the chance, but she was sweet...as gentle as a flower, he dared admitted. He stood there shell-shocked until his fur bristled upward when Rowanflower imitated his behavior previously. Prodding his different limbs caused Staglegs to jump up, quite literally, and chuckled profusely. ''Haha!'' He tried to edge himself away from the she cat, ''Haha! Stop it!'' It wasn't anything personal directed towards Rowanflower. The tom had uncanny parts to him that was ticklish, so he used his muzzle to pry Rowanflower away from him. Calming down from his chuckling fest, Staglegs breathed softly, ''...Sorry, I'm, uh, ticklish.'' He grinned sheepishly. Forthcoming, Staglegs introduced himself to Rowanflower, obviously already knowing who she was. He wasn't surprised that she didn't know his name, and he was a bit reluctant on giving out the information, but because he held respect, it slipped out his mouth. ''...What gave it away?'' He laughed, awkwardly. Staglegs forever knew that he would never be a natural born Riverclanner. He couldn't swim, he couldn't stand the taste of fish, or the smell of it. He didn't have webbed paws that most Riverclanners were born with. On top of that, he really didn't like the muddy grounds. ''I understand...I can be a little...hmm, well, you know.'' He shrugged it off, whether she knew or not, he didn't mind. Staglegs didn't like to be a worried mess, and he always tried his best to bury that side of him down. Yet, it was like a volcano - it was inevitable to explode at any given moment. He adjusted his seating to a more comfortable position, sitting down on his hind legs, and bringing up one back paw to scratch his ear like a dog. Rowanflower's words were fumbled, causing the tom to give her a suspicious look. ''Patrol alone?'' Stagleg mumbled. ''Is that...a good idea?'' He questioned. He always thought clan cats patrolled together, not alone. He recalled vividly as an apprentice of Skyclan, that two was better than one. To hear that Rowanflower was patrolling...ohhh, it hit him like a ton of bricks. ''I'm not an expert or anything to say what you should or shouldn't do, heh, you are the deputy after all, but I thought patrols were meant as a...group activity?'' The brown tom questioned, flopping his foot down and tilting his head. That was when he observed her expression, as it became a thin line of...discomfort? Contempt? Melancholy? Staglegs was far from being a psychologist, but he knew that solemn expression when he seen it. ''Is something wrong, Rowanflower? Was it something I said? Oh, starclan! I hurt you - didn't I? I - I didn't mean to say anything that...offended you?'' Referring back to their conversation, the tom didn't think he said anything offending to the deputy. So, for her to have an expression of longing, was beyond him.

Her one dream was to get rid of her useless fear of germs and find a friend, and who knows? Maybe she even longer for true love, not that she was ever going to admit that.
She watched curiously as Blackfall's face shifted, obviously not comfortable about the topic for his eye, or rather, he had seemed to expect a different response from Shinepelt and had been bracing for it. She knew how that went and couldn't help but sympathize not only because of his eye, but his reaction to her gazing at it. "Oh," she said awkwardly. "Well we all make mistakes that are often foolish." Shinepelt couldn't help but think she had made more than her share of stupid mistakes, but none of them had resulted in permanent physical injury. Her scrapes and cuts had healed, but her emotional state was very fragile at the moment. When he described the cause of his injury, she couldn't help but cringe. The thought of something as dirty as a tree branch going into something as sensitive as an eye? Her stomach flipped, but she tried to hide the queer expression on her face. "I'm surprised it wasn't infected... " the molly said in shock. When she realized that sounded rude, she added, "that's good, though! Wouldn't want an infection." She didn't know whether she was talking about herself or Blackfall in that instance, but she supposed it didn't matter, as long as she sounded like she was being kind.

"yeah, I guess it could be worse," he meowed with a shrug. he knew his tone was unconvincing. what was going through his head that day of his accident as he laid in the medicine cat's den yowling in agony definitely wasn't anything close to the sentiment of 'well, it could be worse'. "I guess we'll just have to see what else starclan has planned for me." sarcasm, although not as humorous, edged his tone.
a muscle underneath blackfall's dark pelt twitched as he shifted his concentration back to the river. the idea of a savory fish still lingered at the back of his mind. he sat on his haunches and held a forepaw at the ready, cautious of letting his shadow stretch across the water.
"want to share a fish?"
without giving her a chance to answer, his paw arced like lightning and scooped out a fish. blackfall pounced on its wriggling body almost as soon as it landed, just mouse-lengths from shinepelt, and finished it off with a rough swipe.
clearly satisfied with himself, the tom sat back and licked some detached fish scales off of his paw. he looked at shinepelt and gestured at his catch. "hungry?"

"Are you a fighting cat?" she asked quietly, before the tom could answer.

He frowned. "If you mean a clan cat, yes I am. I can take you back to the camp, but I need to know your name first." He surveyed the kit carefully.

Staring up at the gray tom she meowed," My name is Sky." Excitement glimmered in her bright blue eyes, grasses waved in the wind ruffling her fur. "What's your name?" she asked studying the tom, curiosity making all her worries disappear. She already liked this cat, he seemed nice and she felt that she could trust him. The sound of rushing water intrigued her, she always loved playing in puddles that collected on the ground after it rained, though her mother never quite understood her fascination with water. She pushed away the thoughts of her mother knowing it would only make her sad. Shaking her fur she looked up at the tom meowing, her eyes shining hopefully," Would you take me to your camp?"

Shinepelt, nodded, trying to tear her eyes away from the scarred tissue, "Yes... I suppose it could." Her eye suddenly itched and she became parinoid about her own by just listening to his story. She closed her left eye, the itching subsiding as she breathed deeply to calm herself. She felt horrible about her reaction, after all, Blackfall was the one who had this injury, yet she was the one getting worked up about it. "Sorry," she squeaked, glancing away and fully openeing her eyes. She hated the fact that she felt others' pain, though not in the sense of sympathy. Whevener she saw an injury, she couldn't shake the feeling that the same would happen to her, and she was always extra catious. At this point, she decided against hopping back into the river.
Her attention snapped back to Blackfall at his offer. "No," Shinepelt answered simply and without explaination. She shifted anxiously and her whiskers twtiched, a response to her fear that she had angered Blackfall. The truth was, she couldn't eat prey that was caught by another cat. The idea of a fish sitting in the mouth or paws of another cat before she ate it disgusted her, and she saw nothing wrong in rejecting his offer. She wasn't the type that would do something she didn't want to and 'suck it up' for the sake of the other cat, she was the type that knew their own strict boundaires very well. "I'm not very hungry," she added, looking at the dead fish with reserved disgust. She sniffed, "Even if I was hungry, I prefer to eat alone." Which was true. She ate alone becuase only StarClan knows what diseases she could get if another cat accidently sneezed on her food. She also couldn't eat prey unless she caught it herself and it was properly descaled, feathered, or furred, along with a good ask in the river.

Following the gray tom she bounced around at his side, tail waving excitedly. She could hear the river splashing nearby. His tail waved in front of her when she slowed down a little. Skykit liked her new name. "Skykit," she murmured to herself. Falling behind a little she padded after him. She didn't want to annoy the tom, but his gray tail looked so much like a feather. Crouching for a moment she pounced on his tail, her small paws curling around his fluffy tail. "Sorry Duskfern," she muttered quickly before he turned around, hoping he wouldn't be mad.

I told Shatteredsun that I did not like him in that way, and that I liked Wolfpool, and he, he knew that at that time, Wolfpool was a dry paw. Shatteredsun was angry that I liked wolfpool but he was good friends with wolfpool so he decided that I wouldn’t like Wolfpool as much when he was floundering around stupidly. And he could help his friend to not completely hate water, but I saw him push Wolfpool into the river. I dived in after Wolfpool, and dragged him back to shore. Shatteredsun limped over to us, and I scolded him for doing that to Wolfpool, but Wolfpool wanted revenge, and Wolfpool knew Shatteredsun’s biggest secret and used it against him. Now Shatteredsun sees nothing of that old friendship and is hungry for revenge. He dragged Beestrike into it. Listen, beestrike is a good cat, he follows his brother too much though, I’ve seen Beestrike fish, he is brilliant, and kind. His brother is trying to corrupt his soul sith the need for revenge, but Beestrike isn’t totally changed yet, we can still help him, and change shatteredsun’s Mind. I am sorry that I know nothing of shatteredsun’s big secret. I wish Shatteredsun would just let me help instead of focusing on his revenge.” Shimmerskip looked at Wolfclaw with a sorrowful look, she felt completely torn, should she help the cat who scarred her, or leave him to destroy her ex-mate, who was broken enough as it is. @ Ryder
