"...do i know you?" chivewhisker meowed slowly, setting the same suspicious tone as hers. he suddenly felt protective of those two meager questions. what did this cat want to do with his information?

The confusion that Dawnpaw had originally felt only became more intense as Chivewhisker's head shot up, a puzzled look plastered all over his expression as well. She blinked a couple times, as if perhaps this were all a dream and she was in a repeat scenario where the introductions never ended. "...My name is Dawnpaw. I'm a RiverClan apprentice," she mewed slowly, making sure each word was enunciated properly. She was stuck between thinking this tom was RiverClan and wondering if he was now a loner or a rogue. He seemed to be about as clueless as her, but that might just be a trick, or so Dawnpaw thought. "Do I know you? Or more importantly, does RiverClan know you?" She was beginning to get a little scared, her heart pumping fast against her tiny chest. I've only had one battle training session with Wolfdancer - one! I'm not ready for a real life battle! she thought, trying to slow down her breathing. Waves of panic lapped at the edge of her paws as she tried to keep her composure, watching Chive with the same wide, round eyes.

Firehawk didn't think Mud's issues with authority would be a huge issue, given Fallenstar and Rowanflower rarely ordered them around. Patrols were often determined by fellow warriors, and for the most part Fallenstar only seemed to do ceremonies or cause issues with the other Clans. "I don't think you'll mind it as much as you think," Firehawk told him. "But we can see if Fallenstar would be okay with that." He didn't think he'd mind too much, but it was Fallenstar. "Yeah, I don't think they'd care for your half-eaten scrap of meat." Especially since it was wet from sitting in the mud. Not many cats enjoyed a cold, stale mouse. "Do you want to finish that, or are you ready to go?"
|
A bit of a snort left Mud's nose at his brother's original name. Blazefury? That sounded more like him than anything, though the husky tom had no plans to change his name at the moment. "...I like Firehawk a bit better. It... it suits you," he offered, the first warm sentiment that had been exchanged between the two.
"As long as they don't order me to clean anything or take care of any squabbling kits, everything should be fine," the tabby replied, swishing his tail as his eyes darted down towards his abandoned lunch. He wasn't necessarily hungry, and even Mud had to admit that the prey was less than appetizing as it stood right now. "I'm ready to go now," he replied, stepping over the scraps and coming up next to Firehawk. "Lead the way, brother." (we can post them in camp now I'd assume? ^^)

@king kaleb!
Dawnpaw had practically skipped all the way from the training grounds to RiverClan's swampy territory. The soil squished underneath her paws, bubbles surfacing between her toes. The apprentice giggled as they popped one by one, new ones being created with each step she took. Glancing over her shoulder at her mentor, her blue eyes round with wonder, she grinned. "Are we going to practice on land prey first?" she asked, waving her tail back and forth. She wasn't sure how pouncing fully into the water would work out with catching fish, and she knew Wolfdancer was way smarter than that, so the only prey left was that on land.

Re: RiverClan Territory
{This is open for anyone to reply to!}
Before taking a step over the scent border of Riverclan, Hannibal simply stood there, taking in the fishy scent of the clan. It had been quite some time since he had paid them a visit, in fact, the last time he remembered doing so was before Skyclan had settled into their new territory. It was time to do some checking up on things, and get a taste of what the new leadership was like. After all, he assumed there was new leadership in most of the clans, perhaps not Skyclan, but the other ones.
And he was desperately interested in what kind of new intelligence he could collect on these clans, he wanted to test their limits as well. From what he's heard, they were tottering closely on the edge of war. Surely it wouldn't take but some little misinformation here and there to begin starting the conflicts. A little prey stolen here, a dead cat there.. Oh he had some plans alright, but for right now, he was simply here for information. He was going to get to know these leaders to the best of his abilities before enacting the next part of his plan.
Exhaling slowly, the dark furred tom stepped into the territory, keeping his ears swiveling and alert, breath constantly being pulled in from his mouth to filter scents and his eyes scanning the area in front of him. He stuck to the shadows, after all, one could hardly see him that way. Right now, he had no plans of killing anyone, not unless it was absolutely necessary. Intelligence was vital for this stage in his plan.

He had been too preoccupied thinking about the tree-turtles to notice how close the she-cat was to him. "I think we have a death wish trying to look for them!" He whispered, pelt bricking with apprehension. When she had moved away from him he realized how close the she-cat had been. Batpaws pelt felt hot, he never really got that close to cats he didn't know, he even felt uncomfortable sharing tongues with his own clanmates. So far he found Splashpaws company... Well, not so bad. Though he was slightly terrified being so far from camp he had to admit he was having fun.
He sighed and carefully climbed up the log attempting to make as little noise as possible. His claws dug into the bark and he hoisted himself up beside Splashpaw. He kept a careful watch for the turtles as he looked up at the sky. He couldn't help notice silverpelt shining between the dark leaves overhead. "Woah..." Batpaw sat down, his green eyes wide with awe, "It seems we have a good view... O-Of the turtles of course."

Splashpaw laughed as Batpaw seemed to freeze up at the thoughts she suggested out loud. “You’re silly.” She purred, flicking his flank with her tail. “But where’s your sense of adventure? Sure, a death wish may be scary. But it’s fun right?” Splashpaw knee she might be pushing the tom out of his comfort zone, some cats weren’t as up for adventure as she was. She respected that.”But, I’d you want to call the search off, then we can.” She didn’t want to make any cat do what they didn’t want to do. And to her, it seemed as if he wasn’t up for this search of the tree-turtles.
As Batpaw seemed to marvel at the sky, Splashpaw looked up as well, though she could see some stars, this wasn’t how she usually viewed the sky. “Come on.” She suddenly meowed, her whole motive changing. No longer was her mind focused on finding tree-turtles, now it was on finding the clearing where you could see stars for miles. She leaped off of the log, heading deeper into the territory, though away from the forest.

Batpaw thought for a long moment as he stared up at the sky. Every instinct was telling him to retreat back to the safety of camp but on the other paw he didn't want to show the true scaredy cat he was. This'll be fun. I'll have fun. Before he could reject her suggestion about heading back he realized that Splashpaw had already leaped off the log and was walking away. His ears perked in interest because she wasn't heading into the direction of camp but instead deeper into Riverclan territory. "W-Wait up!" Batpaw leaped down, landing clumsily, and quickened his pace so he could catch up with the apprentice. Pushing away the anxiety that welled in his stomach he took a look at their surroundings and realized that the trees were thinning out. "Wait, but how are we going to find the tree-turtles out here?" He asked, his green eyes wide as they flashed around making sure that nothing was stalking them. Secretly Batpaw was relieved to be out of the cover of the leaves. This way at least they'd be able to see a predator approaching instead of being attacked out of nowhere.
@toodlesteddy
Droplets of water dripped from Allisters silver pelt as he walked away from the river. After that muddy Shadowclan warrior had leaped on him his fur was left filthy, so he was forced to wash it off in the swift flowing water. What a feather-brain, has he ever heard of a wash? He wondered if he'd see Canarysong again. That doesn't matter! I'd be better off not seeing that muddy badger again.
As Allister continued to walk he realized how deep he was into the Riverclan territory. Normally he chose to stay close to the borders so he'd have a quick escape but this time it must've slipped his mind. At least I think this is Riverclan. With a name as obvious as that he figured that they were the ones that chose to live near the water. He found the whole concept of clan-life odd. He wondered if they knew what true freedom was like. His green gaze shifted towards the sky as he noticed how dark it was getting to be, so he decided it was probably time to find his way back to the forest where none of the clanners inhabited.

As the sun began to lower in the evening sky, a petite grey warrior lurked through the forest of RiverClan, her dainty paws ghosting across the underbrush like shadows. Ashstorm's wide, bright yellow eyes scanned the trees for movement, her lips slightly parted as she breathed in deeply, scenting for what would be her next meal. She failed to detect any land prey, and resigned herself to the fact that she'd have to head to the river and catch a fish--something she had never been too good at. Inhaling intensely, she stopped in her tracks as she noticed a scent that was unfamiliar to her. She could smell a loner--a tom, she identified after a moment. Dropping to her haunches, the young she-cat moved stealthily across the terrain in a practiced crouch, trying her best to locate the cat before he crossed the border.

Taking on a casual stroll the loner was unaware of the danger he was putting himself into. So far every one of his wanderings he had managed to escape with little to no scratches but then again he had never dared to get too deep into their territory. He didn't enjoy putting himself in harms way although he had to admit it was quite a thrill when he was running from a snarling warrior. Allister parted his jaws just a touch to breath in the forest air but he was unable to scent anything out of the ordinary. He didn't take into consideration that it was because it was a new area and he wasn't used to the Riverclan scent yet so he continued to venture towards the border with his guard down. At this point his only concern was getting someplace safe before it got too dark. No matter how adventurous the tom was he wasn't ready to be in the enemies territory at night.

Mere moments had passed when, suddenly, the Tom came into view through the greenery. He was large... taller than her, though that wasn’t a very impressive feat. His fur was well-groomed and tidy, much to Ashstorm’s surprise. She had never seen a loner in person before, and this cat was breaking all the stereotypes her mind had created for the group. Quickly, the cat analyzed her situation. It was her job, as a warrior, to confront those trespassing in her territory; she knew this, and yet her stomach sank at the thought of hurting the perpetrator. She was an active pacifist—as a kit, she had gone nearly a half-moon without eating because the thought of killing something was “totally barbaric.” Even now, she maintained a strict code of morals when it came to hunting: she would only kill elder animals or those that were injured, and never a female. These rules were only broken in the most desperate of times.
As she observed the cat from afar, she felt an innate sense that he wasn't there to cause trouble. What should she do? Should she trust her gut, or follow the rules of her Clan? She knew what the answer to that question was, but somehow, she couldn’t follow through with attacking the Tom. However, that didn’t mean she couldn’t confront him.
Heart hammering in her chest, Ashstorm made her way quietly through the thick vegetation before coming to a halt just yards behind the cat. “Welcome to RiverClan. Anything I can assist you with?” Her voice rang softly through the forest, barely louder than the babbling of the river, but it was laden with a coquettish charm.

@Duskflight
(Thought it might be a tad bit interesting to through Heatherfur into this little scenario ^^)
The days had begun to blur together as far as Heatherfur was concerned. Paws dragging through the mud, she had decided to escape the confinement of her own den in order to get some new, fresh air in her lungs. It was nothing like the moorland air that the light furred tabby missed so much, but she was beginning to like it. The swampy terrain, the unique noises that sprouted up between the reeds. Her roots would always be planted in WindClan, but perhaps a seed or two had been planted in RiverClan as well. She found it odd to be feeling at home in RiverClan though still so soon after Surgestorm's passing. "I wish I could've been there with him. I could've fought off that fox..." she muttered to herself, kicking a pebble out of her way absentmindedly with one of her forepaws. Behind her, her fluffy tail lashed once and she glanced up, noting her surroundings. I should at least make myself useful while I'm away from camp.. she thought, letting a quiet sigh slip past her lips.
Daydream had been able to teach her more during their training lesson, and now she felt more prepared in case RiverClan was dragged into another war. With her nose in the air and whiskers twitching, Heatherfur maneuvered her way around a rather thick clump of reeds in search for some comfrey root. She was just about to expand her search into the reeds before a weird scent drifted past her nose. Every muscle froze and she let her eyes dart around, keeping her jaws parted to draw in more of the scent. It definitely wasn't RiverClan, nor was it one she was familiar with. Instantly, her hackles began to rise and she slid each paw quietly across the floor, making each more as silent as possible. Thank StarClan I still have my fighting skills, she breathed, knowing that if it was an enemy, they would be in for a nasty surprise.
It was a movement in the shadows that caught her eyes, and Heatherfur almost didn't see it. She turned, head up and eyes alert. The figure was moving quickly, its own expression set and serious. "Stop right there!" she called, not bothering to keep quiet anymore. Despite her medicine cat ways, Heatherfur had no problem defend her Clan with her claws now. And if there was a rogue loose on the territory, she would take care of it, if nothing else to fully prove her loyalty to those who still doubted her in RiverClan. "What's your business being on RiverClan's territory?" she demanded to the shadows, waiting for the figure to reveal itself and step out to where she could see them better. Up ahead, the midday sun beat down upon the forest, little wisps of a breeze floating past every now and then.

“Gotcha!,” Featherstorm said softly as she caught her first prey of the day. She didn’t want to scare off any other possible prey. She was doing some solo hunting today for the fun of it. Not that killing animals was fun, but she liked keeping her clan fed. She hated though that these little animals had to lose their lives for her to eat, but that’s the way it was.
She sat on next to a small stream on the edge of the territory. Usually she didn’t like being so close to the border, but today she felt a little daring. The sun was was shining brightly today, making it very hot out. If it was any hotter, she’d jump in the water for a nice swim. She got up and strode to a spot that was shaded by a tall tree. The water was even shallower and narrower here, so this would make her job easier. The less places for the fish to escape too, the better. She turned her head and saw a small fish swimming her way. My next prey, she thought. Not daring to move, she watched as the fish came closer, preparing to strike.

Obsidians eyes brightened as he saw the Molly. He had watched her hunt many times before, and was astounded by her hunting skills. By that and her beauty. He thought this might be the time to confront her. He dropped from the tree, licked his pelt, and walked up to FeatherStorm. “Uhh, hello? I’m obsidian, and I’ve been watching you hunt for a while!” He meowed getting closer to the Molly.
