Re: WindClan Training Moor
[sorry about the lateness]
@ Aurora Australis
Blazingstar nodded with a small smile as he heard his apprentice respond. "Hunting it is," he responded. He turned his attention to the moor, gesturing towards it with his tail. "Alright," he started, wondering where to begin. It had been several moons since he had to explain hunting to an apprentice. It would be especially hard for an apprentice that wasn't clan-born too.
"Hunting here isn't easy. We can't stalk our prey like what your instincts might want you to do," he began to explain, looking back at Ravenpaw. "On the moors, you have to get as close to your prey as possible, you can't make a noise and you definitely can't let them smell you, but we'll get to the details later," he spoke, looking back towards the moors. "For now, we need to see just how fast you are, how far your sprint can take you," he spoke, his tail waving in anticipation. He enjoyed running like that and he only hoped Ravenpaw would feel the same.

Now that they were warriors, she feared for them everytime even the very idea of a battle was brought up. The molly nodded at his response. She knew he was not a leader who was inclined to ask questions about cats personal lives. It wasn't his business after all. "I mean, as good as it can get," Mottleheart said, her mind drifting to her dead kits and mate, "You know how it is, don't you?"

@ Cosmo
Blazingstar let out a small sigh as he understood what she meant when she spoke. "Yeah, I sure do," he responded. His attention was drawn towards the entrance when a patrol came in. "Have you been out in the territory recently? Done any hunting at all? Or have kittens been preventing you from doing anything?" he inquired, his tail tip had began twitching. He wasn't sure what to talk about in all honesty. While she might be nursing his kittens, he didn't know her as well as he'd like.

Frozenflame was slightly caught off-guard by the she-cat’s sudden bout of talking. She didn’t even retaliate as the feline crawled out from underneath her, where she had pinned the foreigner against the ground.
A smirk flickered across her face as a witty comeback came to her upon hearing the feline’s words. “Well technically, it could still hurt. I’m a pretty strong feline if I do say so myself. I don’t need claws to take down my enemies. I simply squash them.” Though from her lithe structure and thin pelt, most any cat could tell that Frozenflame was not overweight enough to squash, not one bit. She did have a significant amount of muscle, that stood out through her thin pelt, rippling with her movements.
As the feline asked a question, Frozenflame realized one thing. This she-cat was an intruder on her territory. Windclan’s territory. She didn’t have a right to be here. But Frozenflame wanted someone to talk to. And this cat here was her best bet. Plus, she already liked the feline. She could bend the warrior code a bit, right? Let the loner stay here for a bit longer. “Well, yes.. technically it’s Windclan’s territory, but I live with Windclan, so it is my territory too, that I share among all the other Windclanners.” She explained, not taking into account that the molly night not really know anything about clans. It was all very basic knowledge to Frozenflame. She’d grown up with it.
“Fay? That’s a pretty name.” Frozenflame meowed upon her introduction of herself. “I’m Frozenflame, often referred to as ‘the handful’ by most cats.” She purred, amusement alight in her dark green hues.

(Wellll I think I beat your record for 'length of time taken to reply.' >~< Sorry about that I got busy with different sport camps and practices.)
As the other feline began to describe her abilities in battle, Fay lunged into a stretch already growing tired of not moving, which displayed her long legs. She didn't look particularly muscular herself. In fact, she was quite lanky and gaunt looking, but this characteristic wasn't uncommon for cats that were constantly traveling with no permanent hunting grounds, such as herself. "Frozenflame, huh? That's an odd name. I can't say I've heard of a name like it before, but it does have a nice ring to it. I'm more familiar with your other name, 'the handful', as I may have been called that some as well, mostly by my mother and littermates." She tapped her paws softly against the ground as if it was necessary for her to think, and continued with an intrigued tone. "I can't say that I've heard of Windclan before... You're forest cats right? You look like a forest cat." Her interest only grew as she began to think more about Windclan. Though she continued to speak to Frozenflame, she looked away from her lost in thought. "I've heard of groups of forest cats that would live together with a large, permanent territory, but in most of those stories, the cats were very ferocious and unwelcoming." After completing her own thoughts, she looked back to Frozenflames eyes with a glitter of amusement. "You don't seem to ferocious to me though." With all her rambling done, she playfully cuffed Frozenflame's ear without a second thought trying to provoke a reaction out of her.

(Sorry for the late reply)
She almost couldn't wait any longer, but when Goldenkit's smile broke out, she couldn't help smiling either. She already knew what this meant. "Do you think it's your favorite prey?" She asked, nudging him to take another bite.

He'd seen Windclan territory from the Riverclan border before, but it was more like watching a surreal dream. Now, that Pebblepaw had transferred here, it was reality. He had been accepted, and he'd have to learn the Windclan ways.
Though he still had to wait to be assigned to a mentor, he could learn more subtle things. The clans were mostly alike, but they all had their own traditions and such anyways. Pebblepaw was eager to learn.
The eagerness came partly from the fascination he had held for Windclan his whole life, a little from the will to fit in, but in the moment most of it came from trying to push away the memories. The last bubbles, floating up to the surface, her body finally giving in to the stream and her eyes going unfocused- No! No. He couldn't think about that. He was here now.
He didn't want to think about his sisters. The one that had left him in the most cruel way possible, and the other which he'd left.
He didn't want to think about his family, who had eagerly awaited his arrival in the clan, and how their pelt had spiked in fear when he had came alone.
So, Pebblepaw stretched out his paws one at a time, warming up his body from sitting down for too long. He distantly wondered how long it'd take for him to get used to the wind blowing trough his pelt at all times...
Pebblepaw had been so used to the protecting reeds, not batting an eye to them. He still managed, for now, since he had such a thick and warm pelt from the fish. But soon his pelt would be thin as the grass he was stretching out in. A grumble of his belly made him notice his own hunger.
"Am I allowed to eat? I haven't hunted today, since I don't know the technique for the rabbit." He muttered to himself, not really daring to ask.
|
Yellowpaw noticed a young apprentice who slightly stunk of Riverclan, but it seemed to fade a little. She bounded over to the young tom,” I didn’t know Rivercclan used apprentices as messengers to spread word between leaders, deputies, and medicine cats!” She squeaked in excitement, she may have been an apprentice for a long time, but her kitlike excitement still showed.

Pikerunner realized that the last time he spoke with Shoresand was when he was an apprentice. After all when he first joined Windclan at seven moons old his first friend was Shorepaw. They were decently close as an apprentice. But at 10 moons old when he had a rabbit took his vision he cut all his friends off as he felt they wouldn’t like the blind version of him, even though realistically he was the same. He became a warrior avoiding his former friends and eventually started making friends with cats who he wasn’t friends with as an apprentice, he flicked his tail a little dipping his head some,” That is true. Sorry I cut you off as an apprentice...I felt I was a different cat after my accident.” He appologized, he still felt decently guilty for what he did, but to answer he questioned,” It’s going pretty decent. I have mentored two apprentices Berryfog and Flyingfish.” He replied casually,” You?”

Re: WindClan Nursery
Sometime between gnawing at his sister's ears, and being a general grouch over an empty belly, Harekit managed to hear her protest through his own grumbling. "Rain, get some food for us," he demanded loudly, releasing her ear and giving her an endearing look.
//
Rainkit gratefully slipped away from Harekit. She crouched at the edge of the mossy nest and irritably curled her tail around her paws. Typically, she filled the role as the responsible one within their litter. That meant her siblings always looked for her to be the problem solver amongst them. And while it wasn't difficult for Rainkit to take charge of their care, this wasn't something she usually did with any measure of delight.
"Okay, okay!" she replied impatiently. "Wake up Chickenkit all of us can eat...beebrain."
//
Harekit nodded eagerly and did as she said. Their youngest sibling awoke with a start, not unlike Rainkit earlier, and quietly rose to stretch his limbs.
//
Rainkit gestured for both of them to follow before turning to lead the way out of the nursery; nose high, and tail buzzing with alertness. The silver-tipped hairs on her muzzle glimmered as they stepped into the bright clearing.

Shoresand gazed at him, taking in the look she had long wished to see, the tom was the same, blind or not. She nodded as he apologized and gently pressed her nose to his. "Blind or not, you're still the cat I knew and always will know, don't let something like that make you think we'll push you aside." She mewed and remained close to him before looking away. "It's going... Bad, I never had an apprentice and... I have no one to hang out with." She admitted, as of today, she usually hung out in the nursery, having fun with kits and such, but other than that, she was on the territory hunting or patrolling. "You're lucky, you know that?" She asked as she rested her head on the tom's shoulder. "I miss the good old times, Pikerunner, hunting and play-fighting with you was always really funny, you managed to make me smile when no one could." She sighed happily as she breathed in her friend's scent.

Re: WindClan Clearing
Hailpelt sat quietly at the edge of camp, gazing at his clanmates with a silent interest; though he couldn't hear what they were saying, aside from a word here-and-there, he was watching their body-language, trying to understand the dynamics between the various cats involved in conversations.
The young tom stretched, yawning loudly, before lying down comfortably. He was bored, but content to be so at the time. Boredom meant safety, and that was something Hailpelt treasured, for not just the clan, but himself.
