Cloudedpaw would not take any chances, he did not want to get sick. It would only put more stress on the medicine cats who were working so hard to heal their clan members. Plus, he knew that the infirmary was crowded and that would do horrors for his mental state.
Jumping up as he cleared a rise in the landscape, Cloudedpaw perked his ears, figuring he could try some hunting out to help out in some way. Both Oriolestorm, his closest friend, and his remaining brother had their full names, and even though it wasn’t his fault he hadn’t, he was still upset about it. His mentor had disappeared a few weeks into his training, and the craziness with the war and then the sickness had further delayed his ceremony. He had taught himself quite a lot, but not being assigned a new mentor for a while had put him far behind when it came to training. So, for the time being, he was still stuck as Cloudedpaw, probably the oldest apprentice in the apprentice den. But he couldn’t wait to get out.

A breeze swept through the plain and managed to hit Quillpaw right in the chest despite her position behind a large tree stump. She shivered and cursed her fur for not being any thicker, anymore helpful during these truly chilling times. She'd left the apprentice's den in the hopes of clearing her head and the space around her of tiny, furry annoyances but quickly realized she was not going to have as good of a time as she was hoping. But, for whatever reason, she decided it would be cowardly to head right back to camp after realizing the temperature and trudged on into the territory just to prove her point.

So she was excited, when she saw the pale bengal tom, to show to someone that she was tough, to act as though it was nothing-- the breeze that had almost knocked her over, and to prove she wasn't uncomfortable. She grinned toothily and stood up from her cowering position behind the tree stump. She hopped on top of it, gaining a height advantage over him she will probably never again have, and cooly asked, "Out for a stroll?"

The wind had been whipping around fiercely for a few moments, causing the tomcat to growl with frustration. With this much wind, I’ll bever pick up a scent! But he wasn’t ready to go back to camp. Not yet. If he couldn’t hunt, then maybe he could patrol. Warriors do one-cat patrols all the time. It shouldn’t be any different for me. So, with a quick flick of his tail he headed towards where he knew their joint border with Thunderclan should be.
He didn’t expect though, to be completely stopped in his tracks as another young cat popped out from behind a tree stump.
Now, Cloudedpaw always had his wits about him, and he was never surprised by anything, to say the least. But, not all cats could go a lifetime without getting jump-scared at least once. Not even Cloudedpaw. So when the feline jumped out, a grin on her face that he thought made her look like a maniac, the bengal did jump. His claws unsheathed and he let out a surprised yowl, stumbling over his paws a little. Thankfully he retained some of his dignity by remaining on his paws, but his hackles were raised, his muscles tense as he moved his pale blue eyes from the ground up to the she-cat. He could feel his ear-tips burning with the anger of being embarrassed. It was the wind. You possibly couldn’t have smelt her coming. His reassurance in his own head allowed Cloudedpaw to calm down, and he cast an annoyed glare at the feline who had surprised him. His ears laid back on his head as he responded to her question. “Well, I was. At least before you decided to pop out like a weasel.” He took notice in the fact that her pelt was about as short as his, and she was quite smaller than him too. ”Did you need something? Because I specifically came out in the cold so I wouldn’t run into anyone.” He meowed, tail flicking in annoyance as he stared up at her.

Quillpaw couldn't and didn't try to help the snicker that escaped her as she watched him struggle to keep calm. She knew that his actual reaction wasn't especially entertaining, so she made a mental note to hyperbolize his little trip and yowl to the other apprentices when she inevitably told them about her time in the territory. But even if she'd have to alter the story in the future, his response was pretty satisfying. She answered his anger with the same grin as before, now with her tongue poking out as an extra taunting tactic. Her ploys at annoying him were juvenile, she knew, but that didn't mean they weren't the most fun she could have with a cat like him. The only thing she knew about him was that he seemed pretty stuck up and unwilling to interact with anyone who didn't immediately understand him. No wonder, she thought, he doesn't have any friends. She ignored the fact that she, too, was lacking in that department.

"Weasel!?" She cried theatrically. She laid her front half down on the stump and buried her head in her paws in fake shame. "I've been called many things, but never a weasel. Most being go with buzzard food or stone-head." She flit her tail back and forth, now upright again and looking him in the eyes. They were blue. She made a mental note. She was tempted to interrupt him as he spoke but held out for a personal monologue. "You too? I know those little furballs in the apprentice's den can be a pail in the tail but I never thought anyone else but me noticed. Of course, though, a cool and collected cat such as yourself must be pretty observant. Knowledgeable-- I mean. And why not put eyes like those to use. Huh, baby blue?"

[if neither are inclined to approach each other, I suspect it'd be best to wrap up this rp and plan something where an interaction would be more natural.]

Maniac, defintley. Cloudedpaw did not like the look on the feline’s face at all, plus her snicker really drove underneath his fur. He found many cats annoying, yes, but this feline was just simply.... aggravating. With clenched teeth, he watched her “theatrical” performance, his face morphing from one of slight anger to one of complete exasperation. “Really?” He commented once she was done wailing about the name he gave her. Cloudedpaw often didn’t call other cats names, preferring to refer to them as simply “annoying furballs” or “mouse-brains”. He supposed he could make an exception though, as she sure was a weasel. Small, mentally-unstable looking, and annoying.
At her next words, he almost let out harrumph of laughter. “Me too? It still seems like I’m the only one who notices.” He meowed, taking a jab at the smirking feline. Though her statement about his eyes made him narrow the said orbs. “Sky blue, actually for one,” He corrected, tail flicking. “And the name is Cloudedpaw.” With a small smile, he tilted his head to the side. “And you’re quite right, I am pretty observant. Can’t say much of the same for you though, weasel.” If she was going to treat him in this way, then he was going l respond accordingly. Though, Cloudedpaw was surprised at himself. This was probably the longest he’d ever held a conversation with a cat other than Oriolestorm and his brother. Probably just because she’s an insufferable mouse-brained weasel.

@Solstice!

"Haredung!" Peach cursed sharply after stumbling over her own paws. Ironic, considering how few hares she'd actually seen recently, let alone any other kind of prey. Her snout landed in a small patch of snow and her forelegs fell in front of her. She groaned, her tone harmonizing with that of her stomach which hadn't stopped talking to her in what she could only assume was days. Her nose started running from the cold and she picked herself back up, happy to be vertical again.

With something as far from a giddy skip as one can get, Peach again began walking, stumbling, rather, forwards towards the crest of a hill. Her spine was like tiny spikes adorning her back. Her tail was just as bony and was held maybe an inch above the ground, just barely touching it. When she reached the top of landscape, she had a better perspective on her surroundings. She could see the wide expanse of the prairie grass she'd been hauling herself through, and small pathetic trees dotted throughout. She knew she must be in or near WindClan territory, and that it was dangerous to be near any Clan, but there was no way in hell she was turning around now. Not when she could smell the faintest whiff of field mouse nearby. Not when there was some semblance of a meal coming.

At his correction of her observation of the color of his eyes, Quillpaw gave the deepest eye roll she could and sighed from her nose. She let her head fall between her shoulders as he spoke. She listened carefully but tried not to let that on, preferring to keep her intelligence personal rather than otherwise, unlike, she assumed, Cloudedpaw. He called her a weasel again and she couldn't help but raise her head and huff at him. She hopped down from the stump and approached him quickly. In at attempt to meet his eyes, she stood partially on her toes. She carefully positioned her face a whisker's length from his.

"If," Quillpaw began slowly, "you're so observant, why don't you know my name? I mean I know I was the one who called you knowledgeable, but that was before I realized the all-knowing should probably know everyone's name, too. Don't you think?" She seized up her gums slightly to show her intensity, but it wavered as another cold blast shook the pair of apprentices. "Anyways, I always like baby blue better. It's a little less obnoxious and slef-involved."

Then back to the creamy deputy his tail swishing nervously. He was afraid of what was to come next “last time we talked, I asked him why he was around these parts.” he said muffled through the flowers in his jaw. “We were in the clearing.” he added laughing a bit yet it turned into a laugh out of fear.
He swished his feathery tail back and fourth his mind spinning as to what could happen next. What could come of this... this date was it safe to call it that? No. He didn’t even know if Asterbounce liked him the same. Her multicolored gaze shined a bit more as his nervous laughter continued on as he tried to make himself forget about his scared he really was by being. Alone with this other tom. Although other cats came to him for love advice... on his own he was helpless he had fallen head over heals for the warrior and it stressed him so much, as he hoped and prayed to StarClan he felt the same way. As his eyes glittered he took a deep breath and looked back at Buttercupbreeze a nervous smile on his maw.

When the tom chuckled she was tell that he'd calmed down though confused why he chuckled. The only explanation was that something was funny or she'd totally missed something. That was most likely. Catching his excited gaze the creamy feline twitched an ear. What was running through his head? Buttercupbreeze didn't really know Cottonspirit well and this was the first they'd actually talked so they question was hard for her to get an answer to. Yet she found herself observing his movements more then trying to figure out what he was thinking. It was pointless, for the moment.
When the tom's nervousness increased Buttercup found herself unsure on what to do. Yes she'd been nervous countless times but never over a crush because surprisingly she'd never had one. As an apprentice she'd gotten nervous about training sessions when she didn't know her mentor well it she expected to highly of herself. These days she got nervous about making a fool of herself or messing up Shadepaw's training. The bushy tailed molly was well aware that she could be very awkward at times and she was hoping this wouldn't turn into one of those.
As the white tom explained his last awkward encounter with Asterbounce she kinda understood why he was nervous. That would be so embarrassing! Though it was kinda funny. "Aw, it's kinda cute though. Maybe he thought so too." Buttercup offered a slight laugh leaving her. Her voice was quite and still held softness from her previous comment and at the attempt to be positive. That wasn't something she was good at though, being positive took a lot of work sometimes.
Thinking of what to say the molly couldn't help but scan over the clearing. Would getting his mind if it for now be helpful? It sometimes helped her to get her mind off her worries. Then again talking about them could also be helpful. Brownish eyes flicking from thing to thing she found herself looking back at the white tom beside her, still unsure what to say. "Uhh," Come on think of something... "Those flowers are pretty it must have taken you a while to find them. " Mmm, maybe not the best thing but it might get his mind off Asterbounce for a moment. Hopefully she was utterly clueless on what to say.

Webcloud usually didnt have great conversation with the other warriors anyway and tried to hang out with the kits more.

Hearing the white molly's comment he was shcoked. "R-really?" He asked blinking his sky blue eyes. She seemed pretty smart to him who'd call her a hare brain? Pipitfeather felt a bit awkward knowing he was the first one to tell her that though. It was kinda embarrassing. Catching the molly's next words he had to agree. At least he never talked to anyone like this. Who had time to just sit and talk in the clearing? Okay he had time but who used that time talking? He was to socially awkward for that. "Uh, yeah.." The patchy tom mumbled whiskers twitching. " I um, rarely talk though... " The tom would add studying the ground with his bright colored eyes.

"hi..duskflight," he greeted softly, paws digging into the snow a bit nervously,"its been awhile."
{Apologies in the lateness of this!}

To say that Duskflight had been on a journey was an understatement. This tom had been through a lifetime and a half up to this point, he had been brought to the very brink of death only to be saved by one of his friends who happened to be the very clan leader now. His apprentice days seemed to be millions of moons away, his days of being the fastest warrior of Windclan, the prime of his life, are only a distant memory now. The summer of his life was over it felt, but he didn't let it drag him down. He would continue to serve Windclan, he would continue to try and be the cat his younger-self would have wanted him to be. He wouldn't be cold and bitter, he wouldn't be terrified of everything and paranoid. He would be a warrior.
After leaving the clan, for fear of his life, and living for a while as a loner, he didn't exactly get a warm welcome by some of his clanmates. Naturally his friends had been happy to see him alive, but others saw him as a coward and a traitor. Maybe they were right, well, about the coward part. Traitor was something he would never become. Windclan was his only home, he could never imagine calling any other place home. Even when he made the decision to leave, he hung around the borders, occasionally leaving fresh kill for the patrols to take back to camp.
However there was one friend that he hadn't seen around, not since he returned to life as a clan cat. And that was Larkfall. He remembered being friends with the tom when he was young, before he was shown how cruel the world they lived in could be. He was wizened now. Currently he wasn't thinking of anything, aside from the bitter cold as he laid in a partially melted area of the camp, waiting for his hunting patrol to gather even though it was likely hours before they would set out.
That's when a familiar voice, and a familiar form, jetted toward him, causing him to nervously look in the toms direction before raising his brows in surprise. "Lark... Larkfall, is that.. You?" There was disbelief in the black and white warriors voice as he took in the form of his old friend, the scars that dug into his pelt and the nervous way he dug his paws into the snow. "It's been a lifetime!" He breathed out, now standing to try and dig out more room for his friend to sit down. "It's.. It's good to see a friendly face after so long."
