His apprentice was emotional, he realized. That could easily become a problem in the future. He could easily be swayed by the enemy this way.

Peaches brows furrowed, in an attempt to show he wasn't gonna cry. Getting closer to camp, he just nodded at his mentor before walking off. Maybe he would go to the borders later, knowing that the apprentices den would be filled. Perhaps nobody would be at the borders, leaving him by himself.

Willowsky was out in the territory - not to hunt, but rather with the intention of relaxing. Of course, Willow being Willow, that was the farthest thing from what she was doing.

Do I really have time to relax? The weather may be getting nicer, but that doesn't mean I should be slacking off. We've still got plenty of kits, queens, and elders waiting for us to feed them. And what's the rest of the clan going to think of me when they find out I've been out here, accomplishing nothing? The tabby was so focused on her thoughts that she didn't even realize she was nearing someone until she nearly collided with them. Thankfully, she happened to glance up just in time to notice a ginger pelt.

"Oh!" Willow gasped, stopping abruptly in her walk. "Sorry, I didn't see you there." She shifted back, a sheepish expression on her face. The molly forced her gaze upon her clanmate so that she'd be able to find the right name. "Cedarbug," she beamed, seemingly proud to be able to recall the tom's name, before self-doubt crept into her mind, making her gaze flicker. "You are Cedarbug, right?"

Settingsun stretched out on a rock, enjoying the bright sunlight on her pelt. She just hoped that she didn’t accidentally fall asleep and take an unwanted dip in the stream below her.

Clouddash let out a small chuckle as Goldenglow acted suspicious and averted his gaze towards the water keeping an eye out for fish, "Crazy isn't necessarily bad." He said as he spotted a small minnow he quickly darted his paw out and scooped it out of the water and landed a killing blow on the flopping fish.

"It isn't but..." Goldenglow's voice trailed off as she stabbed her paw into the water after a small fish. She plopped it onto the riverbank, killed it, and set it next to Clouddash's minnow.

"Nice catch to you too! Nothing, he's just starting out as an apprentice, that's all! I would like for Croakerpaw to pay attention more, but I didn't as an apprentice, so I can't complain!" Goldenglow chirped.

Clouddash purred, "Thanks!" And shook his head with a laugh, "I didn't either. I always avoided fighting practice and my mentor would get mad so I would end up looking after the elders." He said wrinkling his nose at the memory of removing their ticks.

"thats why i like our walks. you in my life wasnt planned by no one but myself. i know whats to come of my life. i will be a warrior, and then a mother to a mate that was chosen for me, have kits, and pass on. i know whats to be expected," she spoke so casually, just accepting her fate. she kept her gaze forward as she walked, letting the brittled grass of the floor stab between her toes harshly with every step, but she walked unbothered. she finally turned towards him with a soft smile,

"that is why life is so plain."

chestnutfall’s eyes faded as dappledghost explained her life. it was strange knowing some cats’ lives were so strictly planned out since the beginning, it almost made himself feel stupid for trying to be so tightly scheduled. it made him sad. she...didn't deserve a life like that. he leered off in the distance, humming thoughtfully. “my life was quite the opposite, really.” you could hear his voice shaking slightly out of nervousness. he’d...never spoken about this to anyone before. “everything in my life happened by surprise...and never a good surprise. this is why i strive to live by a schedule, so that everything happens according to plan. even though i know not everything can be planned...” his brows furrowed momentairly, but he shook it off and forced a small smile. taking a deep breath, chestnutfall gazed back up at dappledghost. he chuckled awkwardly, hoping to lighten the mood. “so you aren't allowed to choose things for yourself? i understand parents want the best for their children, but we all grow up to be our own person.” his eyes began to wander the leaves overhead, still smiling. “you should be allowed to make your own decisions, dappledghost...especially about certain elements, like your future ma-...loved one.” the tension in the air changed, but maybe it was just him. or a breeze. or something. “isn't that the fun part of life? having the freedom to love whoever and whatever you wish? whether that be a hobby or another cat, it should be something we personally chose, don't you think?”

it was strange hearing himself talk about this sort of thing...he lost everyone he ever loved, so he felt hypocritical in some way. this was something he wanted to improve about himself, though. hence he spoke about it. but only with dappledghost.
