Sootcloud's eyes lit up at the mention of her clanmate's daughter. "That's so cute!" She purred, oblivious to Amaryllisfrost's worry. "Though I doubt she feel's the same.. I remember being very excited to leave the den to become a warrior." The warrior gave a short laugh, easily reminiscing her own days as a newly-appointed apprentice before becoming a bit thoughtful. "Though I guess I did get a bit scared when I didn't smell any of the queens when I woke up the next day."

The young she-cat nodded in agreement. "Well, that and it's been a while since I've taken part in warrior duties. When I found out I was expecting, I was immediately put in the nursery due to my small size. And I got pregnant not long after becoming a warrior, so I spent a lot of time in the nursery."

Aquilexkit shuffled nervously into the medicine cat's den, attracted by the sharp scent of herbs. The glow of her grey-blue pelt, decorated in white spots, dimmed as she edged her way inside. Her dark blue eyes scanned the den as she searched for Tallmarsh, ears flattened slightly.

The kit realized suddenly that she would probably get in trouble for being in the dwelling without having an injury. Quickly, she scanned the ground. It only took a few heartbeats for her to spot a thorn in a corner near the entrance; Tallmarsh must have removed it from a previous patient. Aquilexkit slunk over to it and gripped the thorn between her teeth. Raising her right paw she wedged the thorn between her pads, biting back a wince of pain. Once the job was done, she limped back over to the entrance and waited for Tallmarsh to appear. She quietly hoped the medicine cat hadn't seen what she'd done.

Lightningstrike purred. "See? I can be sneaky!"

Dawnfrost flicked her tail, watching her kits with amusement and pride.

Tallmarsh had been napping in her nest in the back of her den. It seemed that was all she did these days. Heal, eat, sleep, repeat. She hardly left her den to socialize. It was sad, really. But she just didn't feel ready to face her Clanmates yet. She was woken from her light sleep by the scent of blood and the sound of scuffling paws. She opened her good eye and turned her head, squinting towards the den opening. Seeing a small kit standing there waiting, she groaned softly and rose to her feet. "So, what's wrong with you?" the dark tabby called out as she made her way over. She stopped several tail-lengths away from Aquilexkit, standing in front of her herb store as she surveyed her patient. "Ah. Thorn in the foot. Let me see that..." She padded closer, narrowing her eyes at the thorn in the kit's pad.

Aquilexkit nervously stretched out her paw, afraid that the medicine cat would know where the injury had really come from. She sniffed the air lightly, trying to discern the scent of one herb from another. She quickly fixed her eyes on Tallmarsh, a gaze filled with a shy friendliness.

"Great news?" The tom asked his mate, he tilted his head with confused eyes, he sat down covering his paws with his tail.

Mottledwing shook out her pelt, "We're going to have another litter of kits.", she replied. Maybe this time he can get close to their kits.

Aquilexkit glanced awkwardly toward her foster mother, Amberfall. Ever since her and Talonfeather had become mates, Aquilexkit felt distanced from the queen who had taken care of her. She was worried Amberfall wouldn't want her when she had a litter of her own, not to mention Talonfeather - she didn't know what his opinion was on his new adoptive daughter. As a result, Aquilexkit stayed away from the nursery most of the time. She was four moons old now, soon she'd be too old for the nursery and Amberfall wouldn't care anyway. The kit's ears flattened at the thought of losing yet another family.

{I don't know if Amberfall had the kits yet so if there's inaccuracies to this post just let me know. Also tell me if I should post in the nursery since Amber will be nest-bound if she delivered}

Tallmarsh turned back to herb herb store and quickly picked out a single poppyseed, more than enough of a dosage for the tiny kit. She also grabbed some golden rod to prevent infection. Turning back to her patient, she placed the poppyseed in front of the kit. “Chew and swallow this,” she ordered. “It will dull the pain when I pull it out.”

Thornkit let out a small yawn as he woke up. His green eyes darted across his siblings sleeping next to him, and for once, he gently wiggled out of the nest so he wouldn't wake them. One the ginger tom was finally out of that stuffy kit filled nest he stretched his sharp kitten claws and clumsily slashed at the air a few times, "Gonna be a strong warrior!" The kit mumbled to himself as he continued to slash at the air.
