The History
@Arié
It was mid afternoon the sun high in the bright blue sky. Late green leaf sun filled the WindClan clearing as Silentkit, no Silentpaw, stood there. The young molly had just been made an apprentice a few short days ago if even that long. She was excited beyond what she'd expected. Her mentor, Stormbreeze didn't get upset with the fact she couldn't speack, he was very patient and understanding. Maybe that was why Blazingstar assigned him to her? Because he knew the the ginger tom would be able to handle a mute apprentice? The powdery grey and white molly wasn't sure but she was glad. Plus her best friend Shadepaw had been made an apprentice to!
Shacking her pelt Silentpaw bounded over to the apprentice den only to accidentally bump into a tabby who was exiting. With a shocked expression the young molly backed up dipping her head in an apologetic way. Oh StarClan! I just ran into an older apprentice! She thought a bit worried she'd get in trouble. She's already been in trouble once for sneaking out of camp with Shadepaw without permission. Light blue eyes peering up she saw that she's run into a dark brown tabby tom. He was larger in size, muscle mass and probably everything else. She was only just an apprentice and he was at least 2 moons into his training. Well that was her guess.

Eaglepaw was shocked when something - or rather someone - bumped into him as he walked out of the apprentice den. He looked down and saw a silver molly with blue eyes looking into his own ocean blue gaze. He was surprised to say the least and the tom stumbled back a step or to. He recognized her now, she was Silentpaw. One of the newest apprentices in the clan and apparently she was mute? The tom wasn't completely sure on that but with the way that she shook her head like she was saying sorry, the tom assumed the rumor had been correct. The older apprentice stretched forth his muzzle and tipped is head. "Huh. Hi." He had never greeted her formally yet, he had only seen her sleeping in the den when he returned from patrols with his mentor Dawnchaser.
Dawnchaser had been particularly hard on him the day before, the apprentice being taught how to find collapsed badger dens. Of course it had ended with Eagle himself having to find his way out of one that Dawnchaser had collapsed on top of him. It had caused some mild panic for the tom but he understood the advantage of learning skills like this. It would prove useful especially against dogs, which he thought was the reason Dawnchaser taught him that particular skill. Looking over the younger apprentice again he said, "I'm Eaglepaw. I assume you're Silentpaw, one of the new apprentices?"

When the tabby tom just greeted her and didn't get mad she felt relieved. Making an older apprentice mad at you was a way of getting into trouble and that might break the so far easy training with her mentor. Raising her head to look at the tom she blinked. Who was he? She's seen him around of course and in the den but she never came close to him not had she fun into him like today. Yet he seemed cool with it. That was good right? It meant he was fine with talk to her to she assumed. He probably doesn't know I'm mute. The molly mused guessing he didn't. Just knowing he wasn't upset with her actually busted her confidence a bit.
When he looked her over them introduced himself she waves her tail as a greeting and nodded to confirm his question. She was indeed Silentpaw. It was fitting. Though she wondered how her parents named her. She would ask her mother but it was kind of hard with signs. Mostly all she'd figured out was, yes, no, stop, I'm sorry, hello, goodbye, thank you and how to explain she was mute. She couldn't even figure out how to say her own name. Luckily for her she was gossiped about and her name tracked around. "Did you hear Daisyheart's kit was mute? And she named her Silentkit, how unoriginal" or other ridiculous stiff like "Oh that kit Silentpaw is so rude! She never talks her mother should teach her manners." To be honest the th I vs she heard were either Ames to hurt her mom or her and it bugged her a little but Silentpaw chose to look past it and just be her normal happy self. That way she wouldn't be looked over as rude again.

Eaglepaw stretched his legs, soreness spreading through them and he yawned, sharp white canines showing. He was hungry and it would be a good way to get to know the other apprentice, wouldn't it? He had shared plenty of prey with the other apprentices and remembered his own first meal with the others, one of the older ones, now Greybloom, had shared a young rabbit with him. Reflecting on his own memories the tom stood up, having sat down when he was bumped into, and said softly, "So... I don't know if you've had much interaction with any of the others but its usually a tradition for the older apprentices to share prey with the new apprentices to kind of welcome them into their duties...aka 'care for the elder duties.'" He laughed softly at the last part, because Dawnchaser had indeed told him that with new apprentices he would have more time to hunt and train battle techniques and patrol and not be stuck in camp caring for the elder members of the clan. He did appreciate the elders, he really did, but it was nice not having to smell of mousebile every time he went to sleep in his nest.
Loosening his broad shoulders with a quick shake he nudged the smaller apprentice with his muzzle, pushing her out of his way as he finally got out of the entrance to the den. Letting out a happy sigh he padded towards the middle of the clearing where the freshkill pile was freshly stacked, hunting had been good today. "I do hope you're off duties now ahah. Evenings are usually free from duties so I do assume you're good to go." He looked at Silentpaw with a slight smile in his voice. When he reached the pile he looked for something that would be shareable and still hold the typical taste of moor prey - which ruled out the birds they had managed to catch right away. Rabbit it would be. Picking up a larger one of the many rabbits on the freshkill pile he turned around and sat down outside the den, waiting for Silentpaw to take the first bite. "You take first bite, its custom."

At the tom's invitation Silentpaw wasn't sure how to respond. Well she couldn't verbally respond but she doesn't even think of that anymore. Though the last part made her smile a bit, snorting from her nostrils in a slight laugh. In her few days of being an apprentice she hadn't done much but explore the territory and learn the scents of the other Clans, or at least the ones that shared a border with WindClan. The way the tom wondered things was what made her laugh though.
Being nudged back the dusted gray molly stumbled a bit just realizing she hadn't slowed him to exit the den after running into him. Play more attention Silent. She scolded herself before following the tabby over to the fresh kill pile.
At his question she nodded. The young apprentice thought she was at least Stormbreeze had told her she did and good job and to get some rest. It sounded like she was dismissed to her. Skipping bet hind Eaglepaw she peered over to see what he's pick. She had no idea eating with an older apprentice was tradition not did she know much about apprentice life. It seemed fun though. A rabbit, huh, there good and fast like, well rabbit. Sikentpaw thought trotting behind him as he walked back to the den. Should she have stayed by the den the whole time? Pushing it away she was surprised to hear it was custom for the new apprentice to take the first bite. Dipping her head the powdery grey and white molly took a bite before pushing it towards the dark tabby. After swallowing her bite Silent ran her old pink tongue over her muzzle. This rabbit was the best she's had!

Eaglepaw smiled as he watched the younger apprentice eat her piece of the rabbit. It made the dark brown tom happy that others were happy, a trait that he'd always had. His tail switched lightly and his clear ocean blue eyes landed on the piece of the prey that was left for him. Bowing his head and settling into a comfortable sitting position he took a bite of the savory flesh. It was a good rabbit, had clearly been a catch of one of the more experienced warriors. Not everyone would be able to catch these rabbits, they were younger and had more speed than the older ones who had grown complacent. He hoped that one time he would be able to catch those rabbits and feed his family, close friends and clanmates with some of the best rabbit meat. He knew that would never happen though. The apprentice was built too heavily for those kid of speed runs with his broad shoulders and heavy muscled body. He'd been told he looked more like a Thunderclan warrior than a Windclan warrior, which he managed to turn into a compliment. Because he had the strength apparently, of a thunderclanner and the speed which was obviously from his genes.
Stretching out and yawning, the tom still slightly sore shook his fur. Still dust came out. He would never get rid of this sand and grit that stuck in his fur would he? He yawned again and looked at the sun. It wasn't even that late, he could still feel the afternoon sun on his back. Just flopping to the ground Eaglepaw rolled so his now full and enlarged stomach was in the line of the sun and let out a happy purr, reaching above himself with his front paws, enjoying the feeling of less pain in his shoulders and back. Looking back at the silver furred apprentice, Silentpaw, he said, "The weather is good. Enjoy it while it lasts. Its not every night we get sunshine and relaxing time. ;Sunlight is to be used for training.' That's what Dawnchaser tells me. Also 'An injury creates a stronger bone and skin. Keep getting damaged.' I think... something might be slightly wrong with him."

The molly was quite as she watched the larger apprentice eat, her stomach already full with the few bites she'd taken. This idea of a tradition of younger apprentices eating with the older apprentices was cool. Maybe one day she could do it for a new apprentice. She hoped so. Yet a completely random thought crossed her mind. Would she ever look as strong as Eaglepaw? He was well built, strong and much larger then her. While she was small, lengthy and didn't have much muscles with her practically skinny body. Silentpaw told herself it was because she was a WindClanner to the core but she knew it was because she was the runt, the sickly runt at that. She was fine currently and was determined to stay that way.
She titled her head as the tabby rolled over unto his back. Questioning what he was doing. Though after a moment it became clear and an amused smile crossed her muzzle. He's like an old achy elder! She thought with amusement. The grey and white apprentice let out a snort then a laugh, it was an unusual laugh mixed between amused huffs and snorts. No real sound was made at all yet her muzzle was painted with a grin and her eyes sparkled. He was funny, or to her. How he talked about his mentor and the weather was amusing. Silent never really talked to some cat like him and it was a good experience so far. Raising a paw to cover her mouth the blue eyes molly just watched him. Her huffs and snorts were still fresh in her mind. They were an odd thing to call a laugh but she got away with it. Her life was so different then most apprentices due to her being mute yet Eaglepaw was treating her like a friend already. Even with her weirdness.

The large brown apprentice looked at Silentpaw as the silver apprentice let out a sound that sounded very much like a laugh. Turning around fully and gazing at Silent with an intrigued expression he looked into her eyes and then said in a way too serious tone, "Did you just... laugh at me?" He didn't manage to keep the serious tone though and soon after just collapsed in laughter. The brown apprentice was deeply amused by Silent's laugh although he wasn't aware of what had caused it. He was saddened that she couldn't speak of course, it was a weird phenomenon to the young and careless Eaglepaw who never really had a struggle in his life, except for the curse also known as genetic disease that lorded over him although, being young and stupid, he really didn't care about the future. It was too far off for Eaglepaw and he wanted to be young, to enjoy every single lesson with Dawnchaser although his mentor did make it hard for Eagle to like him.
Sitting up, he shook the thick layer of dust off his brown fur that had nearly turned golden with the mix of dust and the sunrays from the setting sun. He watched fascinated as the dust drifted and then slowly settled on Silent's bushy grey fur and he couldn't help falling into a fit of giggles again and he fell back onto his back - directly into the place filled with dust where he had just laid a moment earlier and he was simply unable to stop the laughter and breathed out - though with great struggle - "Can't... breathe.., Too funny."
